Soccer Sunday.

This afternoon we drove out to Gulf Community Park which is all the way on the west side
of town almost to Indiana to watch Genifer’s nephew’s first soccer game. When we left
downtown, it was sunny and gorgeous outside. When we got out to the park, it was bleh.

But as soon as we got to the park, the game was cancelled due to lightning and two storms
that looked like they were going to converge exactly over the park. We both liked this tree
because the top of it looked almost perfectly round.

I guess we’ll try to catch another one of his soccer games on a different weekend.

God bless America.

Buddy Walk.

This morning when Milan and I were out on our walk stumbled across the Buddy Walk for
the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Cincinnati down along the river at Sawyer Point.

Fun night. There were lots of good beers. A few of our favorites were the Rivertown Brewery
Blueberry Lager as well as their Roebling Porter, Looking Glass Sweaty Betty and surprisingly
Leinie’s Sunset Wheat. I think we are going back on Saturday before the big Michigan game
Under the Lights to try some more of the beers available for tasting.

I think someone died.

I’m still looking for a report on what happened.

Chili cook-off.

Today at work, there was a chili cook-off at lunchtime with 11 different chilis.

There were some really good chili entered in this contest. And it made for a great lunch.

Hello autumn.

Even though it was still all overcast and grey, this evening was really pretty nice because
for the first time since Saturday it wasn’t all rainy. It just felt like a pretty fall evening.

For the first time this week, we managed to get a long walk in. In fact, we walked 4.65 miles.
🙂

Grey and rainy and bleh.

It was still really grey and rainy and gross this evening when we went our walk.

Brother’s.

Genifer wand I walked across the river to Newport on the Levee for lunch today. We ate at
Brother’s on the levee. One of the few places you can still get a Summer Shandy on tap even
though it didn’t feel like summer today at all. I ordered this Queso Chicken Wrap…

It was really good. Genifer got a Caesar Chicken Wrap that she said was really good too…

And we tried these things called Gator Balls. They were chicken wrapped in bacon with
jalapenos and cheese inside. They weren’t so good. Bleh.
Gator Balls
I didn’t think it was possible but there is such a thing as too much bacon.
