Blue Wisp.

Blue Wisp
We went to Blue Wisp to watch the second Final Four basketball game. While we were
watching, we started to get a bit hungry. Looking over Blue Wisp’s menu, we ordered
a house salad and the Meatloaf Minis. Both were very tasty but no where near the
small bites we thought we were ordering. As it turns out, we ordered a ton of food.

And in the main room, there was a packed house to see a special Tango performance…

We love Blue Wisp. Great atmosphere. Great music. Great bar, terrific beer selection.
And great food. who knew? This place really does have it all.

Cincy’s on Sixth.

I had lunch at Cincy’s on Sixth with coworkers on Thursday. I had this Cuban Wrap that
was just out of this world delicious. I told Genifer about it, and she wanted to check out
the new place too. We walked over today to grab lunch so she could see Cincy’s on Sixth.

We ordered a chicken quesadilla as an appetizer…

But to be honest with you, we ordered it more as a back-up plan because Genifer ordered
the Firehouse Burger. It had jalapeno’s, pepperjack cheese and special fire sauce…

The burger packed some serious heat but was absolutely amazing with all it’s flavor.
I ordered the triple decker grilled cheese. And it was just oozing with ooey-gooey
deliciousness. I’m usually not a fan of waffle fries but theirs were done perfectly.

The food is a just night and day from what it used to be at Cadillac Ranch. Combine
their menu with a decent beer list, and we have another place to add of list of new
restaurants we really like downtown.

Aye! Old Style ‘ere!

Just in time for baseball season, I found a blast from the past at Party Source.

Old Style. What used to be the official beer of the Chicago Cubs and Wrigley Field.*
One of the predominant memories of spending many afternoons at Wrigley Field was the
beer vendors shouting, “Aye! Old Style ‘ere!” Old Style will always be linked to the
games I was luck enough to take in my baseball Mecca, Wrigley Field.

*That may or may not be true. But it’s how I remember it.

A lunchtime walk.

I had to drop off a DVD to 3CDC up in over-the-Rhine on Race Street at lunch today.
I grabbed my camera and decided to on a bit of a lunchtime wander. After making my
delivery, I strolled past Washington Park to see how their renovations were coming
along. It looked like they were making a lot of progress…

I noticed this old ghost sign on Race Street…

I wandered past Herzog Studios where legendary Hank Williams recorded…

Weaver Alley has to be one of the streets with the most greenery in all of downtown…

I noticed that Blue Wisp was now open for lunch…

There’s a new little garden in memory of Phyllis Smale just off Fountain Square…
Fountain Square
Well, it’s new to me at least. But I don’t recall noticing it before a week or so ago.

It was a great little lunchtime wander. I got to see some places I don’t get to see
everyday anymore that my commute to work is only two blocks. πŸ™‚

Hello world!

Sunrise
Looks like it’s going to be another pretty day.

Sawyer Point.

It was another gorgeous evening, not too warm or too cool. Just perfect walking weather.

Gorgeousness. All the riverfront parks make it so incredibly easy to go on long walks.
And we walked 2.9 miles this evening. πŸ™‚

Our weekly walk totals.

We did pretty well with our walking again this week. We walked 22.8 miles.
And I think that’s pretty good. Especially when you consider that we’ve been
going on fewer long walks and just going to Fido Field dog park more. Milan
really seems to love going to the dog park. And I think it’s great that he
he has a place that he get off his leash and run until he can’t run anymore.
We love our walking. πŸ™‚

This week we also tallied 182 check-ins at 57 different places on Foursquare.
And I love my Foursquare too. πŸ™‚

Yard work.

We didn’t do much today just worked on our lawn…

It’s nuts that we had to cut the grass in March. What crazy weather we’re having
this spring. πŸ˜›

Buckhead.

This afternoon we stopped at Buckhead to enjoy lunch on their patio.

Great stuff! Buckhead is near the top of our list of place with great patios. We’ll definitely
be back. Often. πŸ™‚

The OHio countryside.

This afternoon we travelled out to Hamersville for a birthday party for Genifer’s niece.

It was fun to get to drive the Jetter out to the country.
