As traditions go, Cincinnati has pretty good thing going with their Reds Opening Day
festivities. It seems like all of downtown is buzzing with excitement and coated in
Red. I watched from my office as the people gradually filled Fountain Square in eager
anticipation of 93rd annual Findlay Market Opening Day Parade.


The parade stepped off from Findlay Market at 1pm…

And by 1:20pm-ish, the parade made it’s way to Fountain Square…




And here’s the view looking out the east side of our office building…

At 3:15pm, the parade was still going even though most of the spectators had moved on…

And finally at 3:45pm, the four mounted police officers marked the end of the parade.

Last year’s parade was about an hour and a half, I guess everyone wants to get in on this
Cincinnati tradition. And this year, I think just about everybody in Cincinnati did! 🙂

Tonight, Reds played an exhibition ball game against the Reds stars of the future.
I picked up tickets this afternoon because it was a gorgeous day for a baseball game.






Oh, it’s sooo good to be home. 🙂


The new $225 million man got a huge ovation when he stepped to the plate…







We noticed a new Chipotle-like burrito stand…


And the new State Fair with Corn Dogs, Funnel Cake fries and other goodies…

And our favorite stand, Mr. Reds Smokehouse with all things Leinenkugel…

The Cuban Missile, Aroldis Chapman mad an appearance…





As it turns out, this exhibition game was only 7 innings. And the Futures topped the Reds
2-1. But since we both had full beers, we wandered around GABP looking for new additions.



It was a gorgeous evening to take in a baseball game.


Tonight was a blast. It was so amazing to be back at the ball park watching baseball.
We can’t wait for Opening Night on Saturday!

We found ourselves in Newport this evening so we picked up a couple of pizzas to eat
while we watched tonight’s big college basketball championship game…

And Milan got to tag along for the ride…

Now we’re ready for hoops!


YUM! Go Kansas!

One of the best parts of summer is grilling out. Burgers and dogs always taste the
best when they’re straight off the grill. And being around great people, family and
friends, make them taste even better. This afternoon we ventured over to Genifer’s
brother’s house for the first grill-out of the season…

We had burgers and three different kinds of dogs. It’s always so much fun to hang
out on the Westside of Cincinnati with her family. And her nephews are hilarious.
Good times. 🙂
