Live After Five.

After work and after walking Milan, Genifer and I walked down to The Banks to check out
their bi-weekly thirsty Thursday happy hour called Live After Five. It’s put on by the same
people who put on the Party in the Park over at Yeatman’s Cove on Wednesdays…

Live After Five made for a pretty fun evening. And here are a couple of photos I took with
Instagram on the walk back home…

World Choir Games Friendship Concert.

IMAG1190-1
There were a lot of people packing into Fountain Square today to listen to one of few
remaining World Choir Games Friendship Concerts as the Games begin to wind down.
IMAG1187-1
It’s really neat the way they’ve been having these free performances all over downtown
for everyone to enjoy. And I be a bit sad when the Choir Games are over after Saturday.
Downtown Cincinnati has just been buzzing with excitement and a renewed vibrancy for
the last two weeks. 🙂

MarketGarden.

So I think Genifer and I might be the only residents in downtown Cincinnati who have
been frequently patronizing the MarketGarden. And that’s a shame. There’s a great
collection of Cincinnati’s Food Trucks all in one spot just begging to serve up some
of their food truck goodness. Tonight, we wandered over to the Garden to get Genifer
her very first burger from the only and only burger truck, Cafe de Wheels…

We ordered a Wheels Burger, a Cowboy Burger and some fries…

Delicious, delicious stuff! And on our way back home, we stopped to listen to a little bit
of this week’s Reggae Wednesday on Fountain Square…

Shanghai Mama’s!

Shanghai Mama’s has REOPENED after a fire gutted the joint back in October.

It’s so good to have them back in the neighborhood. I can’t wait to eat there again.
Oh, how I’ve missed you, Szechuan Chicken flatbread.

Parade of Nations celebration.

Tonight the streets of downtown Cincinnati were taken over by the World Choir Games
Parade of Nations. Here’s the blurb from the WCG blog about the festivities…
A lively, colorful Parade of Nations through the streets of downtown Cincinnati USA
demonstrates national pride and culminates with a party and concert on Fountain Square.
One in Song will sing the Official Song of the 2012 World Choir Games, “I Can.”

Ye-ah. Well, we missed all that. But we were on hand for the post-parade celebration…

Getting ready for Bunbury!

It looks like the preparation have begun along the riverfront for this weekend’s big fun
Bunbury Music Festival. They were working on one of the stages in Yeatman’s Cove…
IMAG1170
And another stage is already standing in the amphitheater at Sawyer Point…
IMAG1171
We’re still debating on whether or not we’re going to go check out the three-day music
festival. There are a lot of bands playing on Sunday that we’d like to hear play. But the
ticket price seems a tad bit steep. Decisions, decisions.

GMA on Fountain Square.

I guess this morning Good Morning America was in downtown Cincinnati on Fountain
Square hyping the World Choir Games. I missed the festivities walking Milan and getting
ready for work. But when I was walking into work, there were still lingering crowds…

I wish I would have been able to get a photo like this of the Jumbotron this morning.

Play.

We met some friends out at downtown hotspot, Play.

Cincinnati MarketGarden.

At the corner of 5th and Race Streets during the World Choir Games is MarketGarden,
a collection of good eats, shopping and music for everyone to enjoy.

World Choir Games.

Apparently, there was a free friendship concert on Fountain Square at lunch time today.
