The Reds got knocked out of the postseason by the Giants this afternoon. It was pretty
disappointing the way the postseason played out for the Reds after it started out looking
so promising, going up 2-0. And now the sun sets on another season of Reds baseball.

But what a season it was! 97 regular season wins and 99 wins overall. They ended their
regular season with the second best record in all of baseball! And they picked up their
second NL Central Championship in three years!

On a personal note, we’re really happy.

Both Genifer and I set new personal bests for the number of Reds games we attended.
Genifer moved her high from 20 games last season to 34 this season. And I bumped my
record up one from 34 to 35 games. And Genifer got to see her first postseason game
and I got to see my second! Now we’ll just have to work on getting those postseason
games to be us bearing witness to Reds play-off wins. And that will happen.

But it was another great summer of Reds baseball! We can’t wait for next season. And…
it looks like we’ll be traveling to see the Reds during Spring Training in March!

Tonight a new sports bar opened on 7th Street called Local’s Sports Bar & Grill…



Can you say SKEEBALL?!!!







Check out their Man Cave…





Great place. In my opinion, this is exactly what downtown really needed. Another sports
bar. Sure, there’s Rock Bottom with their okay beers. And there’s Holy Grail in The Banks
with their incredibly piss-poor service and sub-par food. Local’s is a very welcome addition
to downtown Cincinnati. Especially since it’s just down the street from us. I imagine we’ll
watch many a ball game here. And their menu looks pretty awesome too. We can’t wait to
try some of their delicious sounding sammiches! 🙂

Also known as Reds baseball game #34! The Reds returned to GABP tonight with a two
games to none lead in the best of five series against the Giants. PLAYOFF BASEBALL!

There were a new invention at the tonight’s ball game… Sweep Sticks. $10.


We got new rally towels courtesy of the Reds!

The Budweiser Clydesdales made it down from their appearance Fountain Square…













Some jackass ran out on to the field…

Jackass. And there were newly erected standing room only stands…























And I was at the game that set the attendance record, game 3 of the 2010 NLDS!





But not tonight…

The Giants squeaked this one out in the 10th inning.


Still electric atmosphere. And how many times do you get to go to a MLB playoff game
practically in your own backyard? We wouldn’t have missed this for the world. 🙂

There’s going to be a watch party for tonight’s Reds game on Fountain Square with
another one of those tractor trailers that transforms into a ready-made bar…


And when I was leaving work, the Budweiser Clydesdales were on the Square…

It all looked like fun. But we’re going to the game! 🙂

This afternoon the Goodyear Blimp could be seen floating around downtown Cincinnati.



Can’t wait for tomorrow night!

I just noticed that we recently passed the 4000 post milestone! That’s a lot of updates
to our Thadd and Milan blog over the last three and a half years. Thanks for stopping
by to see what we’ve been up to! 🙂

On a walk, we ran across a nighttime Segway tour in Lytle Park. I don’t understand why
people would pay money to ride around downtown Cincinnati on a Segway. I really don’t.
Yet, we see at least one of these tours almost everyday.

This afternoon we went to the Cincinnati Zoo for some HallZOOween fun.

We were keeping our eyes peeled to see if we could find one of the two Golden Big Boys.

That’s not one of them.

We were just minutes too late to find the second one by the Komodo Dragons…

Any trip to the Zoo is really a lot of fun. It’s a great way to spend an afternoon.

After Rocktober, we walked to US Bank Arena for some Cyclones preseason hockey!













We were not dressed appropriately for this event either. And decided to head for home
half-way through the third period with the Cyclones up with a 3-2 lead.

But when we got outside, we discovered it was raining. It made for a cold walk home.

The Cyclones ended up winning 3-2. It was great to see some hockey again. 🙂
