Cyclones hockey game #12!

Tonight after a delicious dinner of Skyline, we dodged the raindrops and headed down
to US Bank Arena to watch our Cyclones take on the Trenton Titans…
US Bank Arena
Skyline closed at 7pm and the Cyclones game didn’t start until 7:30pm, and as a result,
we ended up getting to US Bank Arena super early. Earlier than we ever had before!

There were three fights in the game! This one was just five minutes in…

At the first of the first period, the Cyclones jumped out to a 3-1 lead!

There were dueling beer pyramids in the second period…

With tonight’s win, the Cyclones are now tied for the top spot in the Eastern Conference
in the ECHL. It was the best I’ve seen the Cyclones play this season. It looks like they
are definitely getting ready for another play-off run in their quest for the Kelly Cup!

Almost there…

It's a sign
T-minus 33 days until Reds baseball is back at Great American Ball Park! And I can’t wait! πŸ™‚

Cod for God: Mary Queen of Heaven Church.

We completely missed the start of the Lenten fish fries last week with the “A Kid Again”
Basketball Extravaganza
at NKU. After a bit of research, we decided to start with what the
Cincinnati Enquirer calls one of the area’s best fish fries. So we hopped in the car and
headed out towards the airport to hunt down Mary Queen of Heaven Church.

Apparently, the fish fry at Mary Queen of Heaven isn’t any sort of secret. At all. We walked
in, rounded the corner and stopped dead in our tracks when we saw the line…

Wow! We had no idea that so many people turned out for these things.

We went back to Dunker’s. And had our Lenten Fish Fry there…

Really good stuff. And surprisingly, our fish ended up being less expensive that it would
have been at Mary Queen of Heaven. We’ll try another Fish Fry next Friday, maybe one
a little less popular and closer to home. πŸ™‚

Thursday night at Arnold’s.

It’s Thursday. And that means, it’s time for some Arnold’s!
Arnold's
Thursday night means dinner @ArnoldsBar @DowntownCincy! And I became the mayor of Arnold's @Foursquare!
They have one of the Taft Art Museum‘s reproduction Art for All paintings that has now taken up
permanent residence in Arnold’s courtyard, “Landscape Mural” by Robert S. Duncanson, 1850-52.

Saturday night.

One of Genifer’s friends from kindergarden was back in town visiting this weekend. We
planned to meet them out for a drink. They wanted to go place with some place with live
music. First, we tried Tin Roof down in The Banks. But the place was wicked packed…

So we cabbed and jumped across the river to Jefferson Hall at Newport on the Levee.

Back to Crave.

We wandered down to The Banks for lunch at one of our favorite spots, Crave. Their food
is delicious and their all-day Saturday and Sunday happy hour is ridiculously inexpensive.
We shared these edamame cream cheese wontons…

Genifer ordered this delicious Caprese flatbread…

And I ordered their amazing short rib tacos…

A Kid Again.

Genifer’s brother had a couple of extra tickets to the 22nd Annual “A Kid Again” Basketball
Extravaganza at the Bank of Kentucky Center on the campus of Northern Kentucky University.
The event pitted the Cincinnati Football All-Stars versus the CIncinnati Baseball All-Stars.

We had pretty awesome seats…

Icky Woods was on hand for the event…

As was the Bengals Adam Jones…

Only problem was all the baseball all-stars reported today for Spring Training in Arizona.
Eben Franckewitz, Cincinnati’s own American Idol finalist, performed at halftime…

Fancy a half-court shot for $10,000?

And the game came right down to the wire…

But the baseball all-stars eeked out a narrow win…

Fun night! πŸ™‚

Dunker’s.

Tonight, we were on our way to watch a charity basketball game at Bank of Kentucky
Center at NKU. But before the game, we stopped for a bite to eat at a place called
Dunker’s. And they had some awesome burgers!
Dunkers
Genifer had this amazing quarter pound mushroom and swiss burger…

And I had this unbelievable BBQ smokehouse burger…

Like I said, awesome burgers! We’ll definitely be back! πŸ™‚

Happy Lincoln Day!

Today is Abraham Lincoln’s birthday! And down at Lytle Park a wreath was laid at his feet.
