We Sea Food Differently.
We received this $50 gift card in the mail today from Red Lobster‘s Corporate Offices…
We were invited to a Red Lobster tasting event on April 3rd for the unveiling of their new
menu. Unfortunately, April 3rd is also Reds Opening Night, and we have our tickets. So
they sent us a this gift card so that could still check out the new menu. How awesome
is that? We can’t wait to go to Red Lobster and “Sea Food Differently!” ๐
Some information on their new menu from the email invitation I received…
“Red Lobster recently unveiled its most comprehensive core menu transformation in brand
history, providing guests with more affordable, great-tasting seafood and non-seafood dishes
with more overall choice and variety. Weโve also added new items to our LightHouse menu,
which includes lighter-style options, all for under 500 calories. Weโre really excited about
the new menu items and want to share them with you and some other local bloggers at
an upcoming in-restaurant tasting.
A few of our new menu highlights include:
The $7.99 weekday lunch special โ Weekdays 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., certain lunch sandwiches,
salads and soups are just $7.99. This offer includes four varieties of lunch entrees โ like
the new Spicy Shrimp Tacos and Wood-Grilled Burger โ three types of salads and a soup
and salad combo, all served with Red Lobsterโs signature Cheddar Bay Biscuits.
Our 5 for $5 โtil 6 โ Guests can enjoy select appetizers for $5 from 3 to 6 p.m. on weekdays.
Selections include new menu items like the Sweet Chili Shrimp and Southwest Chicken Pizza,
and Spicy Buffalo Chicken Bites, among others. At select locations, $4 wines and $3 beers
will also be available.”

The courtyard at Kaze.
We walked up into to Over-the-Rhine to check out the newly finished courtyard at Kaze…

While we were there we finally tried a few of their little bar bites…
We tried their Pork Buns…
And one of their Niku Sliders…
Awesome, delicious stuff!
We can’t wait for the weather to be nicer so we can hang out on their patio! ๐

Heart Mini.
This morning was the Mercy Health Heart Mini Run/Walk…
It raised over $2.2 million for the American Heart Association.

St. Patrick’s Day.
As is tradition after the St. Patrick’s Day parade, we wandered around downtown to check
out some of the many St. Patrick’s Day festivities that were taking place…

The Kreellers were back on Fountain Square with their Irish Rock from Detroit…

And then we headed to Nicholson’s to get something to eat…

I had some of the best fish and chips that I’ve ever had in all my life…
And Genifer had an amazing Caesar Salad…
And then bagpipers showed up…

And then just the drummers went at it…

It wouldn’t be St. Patrick’s Day without seeing these guys do their thing!
Later, we met up with our friends Cory and Amy at Arnold’s for The Cincy Brass…

It was a very fun St. Patrick’s Day Saturday. ๐

2013 St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
Last year’s St. Patrick’s Day parade route followed the normal route down Fifth Street,
but for some reason this year’s parade route went down Sycamore Street smack dab
right in front of our apartment…
And when a parade wanders right through your front yard, you go down and watch it…

Parades are fun. ๐

El Coyote.
We went to check out the new Mexican restaurant downtown, El Coyote. They’ve been
around out on the east side of Cincinnati for the last thirty some years. I think we ate there once
way back. We were excited because there’s no such thing as too many Mexican restaurants…

I remember El Coyote’s food not being nearly as expensive but it was every bit as pricey
as going to nada but not anywhere near as good. Genifer ordered a chicken quesadilla and
I ordered a chorizo chimichanga. My mom said “If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t
say anything at all.” So enjoy these photos…

New time we want Mexican food, we’ll stick with to Rio Grande, Bakersfield or nada.

Our Thursday night tradition.
It’s Thursday! That means once again that it’s time for some of Arnold’s deliciousness.
We had to sit inside because there was a retirement party taking place in the courtyard.

Genifer ordered their delicious Slide Burger, and I had Arnold’s Hot Brown…
Amazing amounts of turkey, fries and bacon all smothered in cheese sauce! YUM!
Oh, and Arnold’s 1861 Porter is making it’s return next week!
We love Arnold’s. ๐
