Today was also the birthday party for one of the kids at Genifer’s old preschool…

Asian Food Fest Fireworks!
As night descended upon Cincinnati, fireworks lit up the sky celebrating the Asian Food Fest.

Brilliant end to a pretty terrific day. π

Happy anniversary, Holy Grail!
After Asian Food Fest, we wandered to another party that was taking place in The Banks.
This one was celebrating the two-year anniversary of the opening of Holy Grail at The Banks.

Congratulations, Holy Grail! π

Asian Food Fest, part one.
After The City Flea, we walked to The Banks to check out the 4th annual Asian Food Fest.

We were kinda shocked that Pho Lang Thang didn’t those incredible Bahn Mi sammiches
and that Quan Hapa didn’t have any of their delicious sliders. They were two of the things
that we were looking forward to eating the most.

But Red Sesame was there with their Korean BBQ Quesadilla. It was sooo tasty yesterday.

And it was delicious again today!

Great afternoon! π

Lavomatic.
After The City Flea, we ducked into Lavomatic to have a drink and wait for it to stop raining.

The City Flea.
This afternoon we walked up to Washington Park to check out the May edition of The City Flea.

I picked up this awesome bear t-shirt…
I love my bear stuff! There was more food truck goodness…
But unfortunately, we got there too late.

C’est Cheese told us that they went through 280 sammiches in just over three hours!

And then it started pouring. It was another great City Flea up until that moment.
Stupid rain.

Food Truck extravaganza at Washington Park.
There was a Food Truck extravaganza at Washington Park in Over-the-Rhine. Twelve
of Cincinnati’s food trucks invaded Washington Park for lunch to kick off the new mobile
food vending zone, a new designated space in front of Music Hall on Elm Street. 12?!?
Twelve food trucks? You just know I had to go up and check this out…

First, I picked up an amazing Cuban Grilled Cheese sammich from C’est Cheese…

And I got Red Sesame‘s incredible Korean BBQ Quesadilla…

Awesome stuff! We’re hoping to get up there for lunch regularly this summer!

The Killers at The ‘Shoe.
Tonight was the start of the summer concert series at Horseshoe Casino. Kicking off
the series was The Killers. Genifer really likes The Killers. Unfortunately, we didn’t have
tickets or anything. I think the tickets were all sold out before we even knew that they
were going to play a show at The Shoe. And we weren’t about to pay the steep prices on
StubHub. After we had our fill of the 4EGSquare on Fountain Square, we walked over the
casino to see if we could see anything. Maybe. And at least, get to listen to a little bit of
The Killers show from the sidewalk on the other side of the street.

We moved down the sidewalk a little bit, and we could see the stage really pretty well.

Oh, the newfound joys of my megazoom point and shoot camera. I was amazed with some
of shots I was able to capture. And The Killers sounded great! We heard them do the end
of their set which meant we heard a lot of the big hits. It was really a pretty cool way to end
evening especially considering it didn’t cost us a pennye. I can’t wait to walk down there
next Thursday and listen to bit of next weeks act, The Shins. π
