Alright. My all-time favorite soccer team is Arsenal Football Club, the Kings of London.
Barcelona is a very close second with AC Milan and Manchester City following close
behind. But Arsenal is hands-down my favorite. And of all the great players that have
played for Arsenal through the years, only a few players continually thrilled and amazed
me. Former French striker, Thierry Henry is at the top of that list. Henry is Arsenal’s
top goalscorer with 228 goals in all competitions between 1999 and 2012. Nowadays,
he plays for the New York Red Bulls. So when we saw that the Reds Bulls were coming
to Columbus to play the Crew, we jumped at the chance to get to see Thierry Henry work
some of this magic. And especially when you combine Henry with all the fun we had at
the last Crew game. It was impossible to pass up the opportunity to do it all over again.

Some people go all out for their Columbus Crew soccer.

I think Genifer realized it could be worse than me taking a camera everywhere.

Thierry Henry wasn’t in the starting eleven, Hopefully, he’ll come on as a substitute.

The view from our actual seats…
Dominic Oduro’s hair was cut into a Ghanaian flag…

At the half, it was still nil-nil. And we moved over closer to the Crew goal.
The refs blows for a penalty! Federico Higuain steps up…

GOAL! 1-0 Crew!

And then Higuain scored again with this incredible chip over the Red Bulls keeper.

And that’s how it would finish. 2-0 Crew over the Red Bulls.
But no Thierry Henry sightings. π¦

Hello.

Another incredible night of soccer! π

Columbus College of Art and Design.
When we got into Columbus before heading to our hotel, we stopped at my alma mater,
Columbus College of Art and Design. I wanted to show Genifer where I went to school,
and take a quick look around to see how things have changed since I graduated. It’s
been quite a while since I’ve been back on their little campus. It looked like there had
been a quite few changes. Upgrades really. A handful of shiny new-ish looking buildings
but for the most part it still looked just the way I remember it.

This was one of the new buildings…
This was another one…

The dorm where I stayed my freshman year…

Looking back down Gay Street…
The building where I had most of my classes…

And another new building just down Spring Street…

I wish they had something like this CoGo Bike Share in downtown Cincinnati…

Pretty cool to see how the old stomping grounds have evolved. π

Road trip!
We’re off to Columbus again today. We’re going to another Crew game!

We drove by the Western&Sothern tennis tournament out in Mason on our way…
It’s such an easy drive. We were in Columbus in no time.

Free pizza #9!
Tonight, we enjoyed our ninth free pizza of this Reds season. This one was courtesy of
last Friday night’s drubbing at the hands of the Cardinals which was thankfully camouflaged
as the big mass wedding on the field of GABP, I Do’s on the Diamond.

YUM! Free pizza tastes delicious! π

Joey Vottohead.
Tonight was Joey Votto bobblehead night at Great American Ball Park. So we hustled
down to the ballpark right after to work to try to get our hands on a couple. Apparently,
we really didn’t to hustle that much. At all. Because this was how many bobbleheads
they still had at the main gate when we got there at about ten minutes to six…

We were surprised there wasn’t a line to get into the ballpark, but the line to get stamped
for re-entry was wicked long…

I guess everyone had the same idea as us, hustle to get a bobblehead just as soon as
the gates open and then leave and come back when the game actually starts.
When we got home, we got our new Vottohead out of his box to check him out…

And soon he’ll join his brothers on our Joey Votto shelf…

Looking good, Joey Vottos. Looking good! π

To err is human.

Nice. I guess it could be a complementary sub though.

DBL Law Market at Washington Park.
We walked up back to the DBL law Market at Washington Park this evening.
We found these incredibly cute mini honey bears…
It was Emily from C’est Cheese‘s birthday!

Happy birthday, Emily!

Reds baseball game #22!
It’s the rubber match of the series between the Reds and the whiny birds. The Cards won
13-3 on Friday while we were up in the Riverfront Club for the I Do’s on the Diamond. And
the Reds won yesterday 8-3. So hopefully, they can win today and take the series.
We ran into some friends when we got inside the ballpark and ended up sitting with them
out in the left field bleachers.
Not a bad view from out there. And we could still see the jumbotron.
Well, sort of.

And the Reds got clobbered 15-2 today. Ugh. And ouch.
