Tonight was special. Three years ago today, Genifer and I went out on our first date to a
Reds game. The last two years the Reds haven’t played on our anniversary. But this year,
BOOM! Finally, another Reds game on our anniversary!

We got seats as close to the seats had on that magical evening…

We were right down the first base line, even with Jay Bruce in right field…



Bruce saw us there and realized that Genifer was spoken for…

These guys brought their brooms to the game tonight even though the first game of the
series was rained out. I don’t understand how the Reds could possibly sweep a three
game series if only two of the three games are actually played.

If the Reds lose tonight, I know who to blame…

Thanks for jinxing the Reds. Idiots.

We couldn’t tolerate these jokers for a minute longer…

So we moved up to sit where we love sitting, with the real fans…



I don’t know why people pay all that money to sit in the lower deck. It seemed like no one
around us down below was even watching the game. It was just like chit-chat social hour.

Mr. Redlegs was up in the upper deck kicking’ it with the real fans…


We love sitting up in the upper deck down the third base line…



It was getting pretty chilly so we headed for home at the top of the ninth…


By the time we walked home, the Reds lost 9-4. Still, it was a great way to celebrate our
three year anniversary! I wish I knew how many Reds games we’ve been to together since
that first game. I’m know it’s well north of 75+ games. The one thing you can say is that
we just love our Reds baseball. 🙂

Our tickets for the second game of the Reds vs. Red Sox series in August arrived today!

Now we have tickets to both of the Red Sox games at Great American Ball Park! 🙂

Three years ago today was my very first date with Genifer.

We went to a Reds game on our first date…

And since that day, it’s been the best three years of my life. Here’s to many, many more
years to come! I love you so very much, baby! 🙂

With us leaving to go out of town tomorrow for the weekend, we thought it would be a
good idea to use this week’s voucher for $10 in free slots play before flying out of the
Queen City. As usual, we had a bite to eat before letting the games begin. This week
we tried another one of BBP’s Burger of the Month, The Pimento Burger…

It was surprisingly spicy which probably had something to do with the Cayenne Bacon.
Yum! The Rock Bar had the Miller Lite 16oz. throwback aluminum cans. It’s such a cool
and distinctive look. I hope Lite keeps it around for a long while to come…

On our way to our favorite slot machine, we found a $5 poker chip on the floor…

And then our second spin on the slot machine, we won $33…

That’s the most we’ve ever won off the slot machines on one spin…

And then a couple of spins later, we won another $12…

Our second biggest win on a single spin…

And with that, we cashed out and played the rest of $10 to add another whopping 3¢…

We ended up walking out of the casino with $46 and change plus that chip we found…

Not too shabby off of free play! Thanks Horseshoe Casino! 🙂

The quest to take back the Kelly Cup. Once again, it’s time for playoff hockey in downtown
Cincinnati. The Cyclones took the first two games in the best out of seven ECHL Eastern
Conference quarterfinals against the Orlando Solar Bears. Those games were in Orlando.
Tonight’s pivotal game three has the Cyclones back home at US Bank Arena…


At the end of the first period, it was still knotted at zero…

Twister has his playoff beard working…

That’s the game, the Cyclones won the game 2-1! And they ‘Clones take a commanding
three games to none lead in the series.









Hopefully, they can close out the series against the Solar Bears at US Bank Arena
this weekend, and move on the Eastern Conference semifinals. 🙂

This evening we headed back down to Moerlein Lager House for their Monday feature,
Blues, Brews & BBQ’s. I was definitely in the mood for a ginormous plate of BBQ.

This evening we hit up both rooftop bars in downtown Cincinnati. We started with the
Cocktail Terrace at 21c Museum Hotel. The first day of their season was Wednesday.
And we have been chomping at the bit to get back up there…









The reflections in the buildings were pretty cool tonight…


And after stopping at home for a sweater, we headed back over to Top of Park…





I honestly don’t know which rooftop patio I like better. And let me tell you, trying to decide
your favorite rooftop bar in downtown Cincinnati is a pretty tough problem to have. 🙂

This afternoon we headed down to Sawyer Point to check out the Earth Day celebration…

It was a gorgeous day just to hang out at the park…

There was an eagle…

And a hawk…

Genifer’s favorite was the owl…

And mine was this turtle…

We learned about this really cool completely solar Go Sun stove…


They were roasting garlic in it, which smelled amazing…



We saw that turtle again…

And the eagle participating in a sack race…


We were all enjoying the sunshine and being outside…


There was this sign for lemonAID…

And we stumbled across a couple new food trucks, Cincy Chili Hut…

And Bones’ Burgers…

We’ll have to track them down and give them a try soon. What a better way to spend part
of a gorgeous afternoon than celebrating the wonderful planet on which we live. 🙂

We’ve really been enjoying all the flowers blossoming and blooming around downtown…

Tonight we went to dye some Easter eggs at our friends’ house out in the ‘burbs…





I’ve never heard of dying eggs with a mixture of shaving cream and colored dyes before…

I drew an Easter bunny on one of the eggs dyed the traditional way…







It was a really fun night. I forgot how much fun it was to dye Easter eggs.
