This afternoon we drove out to visit our friends Gretchen and Martin who just recently
welcomed their daughter, Alana into the world…




Congratulations Gretchen and Martin! Alana is a beautiful, little bundle of joy! 🙂

We went over to Fountain Square to check out one EPIC game of giant twister!


There was a big trophy and everything…





Pretty silly. It would been cool if there had been just a ton of people. Still when do you get
to see a Twister mat that big? And you can never beat hanging out on Fountain Square…


There’s always something going on in downtown Cincinnati. 🙂

Gomez Salsa was somewhere right around HalfCut. But I’ll be darned if we could find it.



It must have been right under our noses. We’ll try better next time. 🙂

After The City Flea and lunch at Taste of Belgium, we stopped in to check out HalfCut.
Part watering hole, part carry-out, HalfCut is downtown Cincinnati’s new source for the
best local and rare craft beers…









You can sample beers, grab a pint or pick up a growler or two to go (either 32 and 64oz.)
And you can enjoy fresher, straight-from-keg beer wherever you want…

We were eye-balling this VanderMill Ginger Peach…



And the little 32oz. growler was so cute…

So we got one of those too…










We played some Jenga…

And we were out…

After The City Flea, we were looking for lunch. Both Bakersfield and The Eagle were
packed like sardines as usual. We’ve always wanted to give Taste of Belgium a try. We’ve
heard nothing but good things. But we’ve just never been able to get there early enough
on the weekends to beat the crowds. Walking by ToB today, we noticed a couple of seats
open at their bar. Could today finally be the day that we get to try Taste of Belgium’s
famous Waffles and Chicken? It definitely looks like it…

It was very good though! We shared the famous ToB Waffles and Chicken…


Delicious stuff! I can see why everyone has going nuts over this place! And especially
this dish! The way the sweetness of the waffle and maple syrup mingle with the savory
chicken and hot sauce. Absolutely magically. Amazing! Don’t tell anyone but 4:15pm on
a Saturday is the time to go! 🙂

Between today’s earlier cold and rainy weather and the FA Cup final, we got a pretty
late jump on heading out to Washington Park for the first City Flea of the season. But
then again if you’ve been to one City Flea, you’ve kind of been to them all. Give or take,
they all have pretty much the same stuff. But they’re always fun to wander through…

Like I said, it’s always fun to wander around The City Flea. 🙂

Dating back to 1871, The FA Cup is the main domestic cup competition in English football,
and the oldest football knock-out competition in the world. The quest for the 133rd FA Cup
began last year all the way back on 16 August. 737 clubs from England and Wales entered
the competition with hopes of being able to lift the cup in May. Fast forward to today’s FA
Cup final and there were only two teams left standing, Hull City and my beloved Arsenal…

It was a great match with Hull scoring two early goals, and Arsenal battling back to tie the
match at two. Arsenal clinched the hardware in extra time with a brilliantly clever back heel
by Olivier Giroud to Aaron Ramsey who calmly slotted the ball home. It was Arsenal’s first
trophy in nine years…



Great match. And it’s great to see Arsenal finally lift some hardware again! If you missed

We stopped by Fountain Square to check out this evenings 4EGSquare…

It was pretty dead, and the wind whipping through the Square made it pretty chilly. So we
headed over the Nicholson’s for a drink instead…

When we were leaving Nicholson’s, we saw the Pedal Wagon outside of Metropole at
21c Museum Hotel.

Friday night fun in downtown Cincinnati. 🙂

Tonight the Contemporary Arts Center celebrated it’s 75th anniversary…
