Last night’s Reds game was postponed due to rain. It was rescheduled for this evening
with a 6:10pm first pitch. So the Reds had a doubleheader today. Last night, we were
slated to see Reds ace, Johnny Cueto. But he ended up pitched the first game of today’s
doubleheader. The Reds called up pitcher Jeff Francis from AAA Louisville as to not throw
a monkey-wrench in their starting rotation. So ye-ah. This should be interesting…

They completed closed the upper deck of Great American Ball Park for this game.
So we wandered down the third base side of the lower concourse to find some seats
and passed the Reds Brewery District again…

Jeff Francis…

We moved a little bit closer down towards home plate…
Not too shabby for a $5 ticket.

There was no way. Our guess was at most there were maybe 8000 people tonight.

We’re now 5-3 at Reds games this season. π

Penn Station East Coast Subs.
I had Penn Station for lunch today. I ordered one of incredible Philly Cheesesteaks and
delicious fresh-cut fries. I think they have some of the best fries around!

YUM! Penn Station always makes for an awesome lunch! π
Thanks for the coupon for free fries Penn Station and Powers Agency.
Greatly appreciated. π

Cyclones hockey game #14: playoff edition!
The Cyclones were back in Cincinnati for game six of the ECHL Eastern Conference
semifinals against the Fort Wayne Komets. After game two, the ‘Clones left for Indiana
with the series all deadlocked at 1-1. They returned to Cincinnati with a commanding 3-2
advantage in the best of seven series. All they needed to do was take one of the next
two games within the friendly confines of US Bank Arena to book their second trip to the
ECHL Eastern Conference Finals in as many years. Let’s do this!

The Cyclones scored as soon as we walked into US Bank Arena…

GOAL CYCLONES! 2-0!

And the first intermission, the Cyclones led 2-0…

3-0 CYCLONES!

And at the end of the second period, the Cyclones were up 3-0!

Things didn’t look good when the Komets got a 5 on 3 advantage…

But after an anxious couple of minutes, the Cyclones killed off the power play…
Eventually, the Komets got on the board…
Then the Komets pulled their goalie for an extra attacker…

The Cyclones added a fourth on the empty netter! 4-1!

For the second year in a row, the Cyclones are going to the Eastern Conference finals!

Game one of the Eastern Conference finals is Monday at US Bank Arena! See you there! π
Oh. And we sure were happy we didn’t have to sit in the traffic after the game…
Geesh.

Vottomatic.
We saw Joey Votto leaving GABP in his matte grey Ferrari again…

It’s what we Crave.
After the Reds game, we stopped in for a 21st Amendment High or Hell Watermelon Wheat
at Crave. We had to cheers being at Aroldis Chapman’s first game back!
Awesome. π

Reds baseball game #7!
We went back down to Great American Ballpark for our Sunday afternoon “church” again…

The view from our $5 seats…
Not bad. Not bad at all. But we noticed no one was sitting in our season ticket seats…
We like these much better. There was a lot of pink around the ballpark for Mother’s Day.
This little guy was cracking us up all game…
Frazier went yard…

But there weren’t any fireworks…
I tell you what, he’s been a monster tear lately…

I guess that explains it then…
Who knew? And what a great name for an organization, “Amigos de Los Rojos.”

Homer Bailey was killin’ it today…
Beautiful day for a baseball game…
Billy Hamilton wound up on third after a throwing error after he laid down a bunt…

Beep…
Jo-ey Vot-to…
Mascot race…

And this one belongs to Mr. Redlegs…
Did I mention it was a gorgeous day for baseball?

Homer Bailey threw a gem. 1 run 4 hits over 7 1/3 with 6 Ks and 2 walks.

Aroldis Chapman was up and throwing in the Reds bullpen…

And then he came into the game… GABP was absolutely electric!

Chapman faced four, struck out three to pick up his first save of the season…

We were just one strikeout away from free pizza…

After the game, we went to down to the lower concourse to finally find the new 85 foot
long Reds Brewery District bar with 60 local and national taps…

They have a bunch of local craft beers…

But they ain’t cheap…
They also have a bunch of National craft beers…
Wicked cool. But I couldn’t imagine paying $26 for a round of beers for us a Reds game.
That’s just way too rich for my blood. We’ll just stick with our $9 beers, thanks.

We continued on down the third base side of the lower concourse to the Fox Sports Ohio condominium to see Reds Live host, Jim Day…

Then we ducked our headed around the corner to see if the only craft beer bar was still
there. Apparently, it’s been rebranded as the “Moerlein Lager House Craft Beer Bar.”

It sure was good to see Chapman back on the mound for the Reds. We still can’t believe
we got to see his first appearance of the season! And he got the save!
Just another great Sunday at Great American Ball Park! π

Reds baseball game #6!
After we dropped off our Homer Bailey bobbleheads at home and got to GABP, the Reds
were already trailing 2-0 after Alfredo Simon gave up back-to-back home runs to the first
two Rockies batters. As we were walking up to the ballpark, Joey Votto went yard. And that
was about it for the Reds offense tonight…
We went back into the ballpark through the re-entry gate…

BARGE!

I have Charlie Blackmon on a couple of my fantasy baseball teams…
RIVERBOAT!
Jo-ey Vot-to!

HECK YES!
Billy Hamilton…

I love our season seats…
J.J. Hoover…

It wasn’t Hoover’s night. Again. But we got some nachos!
We saw fireworks across the river…

Too bad the Reds didn’t have any fireworks tonight…
Mike Leake came in to pinch hit…
And there was a sighting of ex-Red Drew Stubbs…

It just wasn’t the Reds night…

We saw Thom doing the Fox Sports Ohio post game show…

Hopefully, the Reds will do better tomorrow.
But we’re still 4-2 at the Reds games we’ve been to this season! π

My new favorite Reds shirt.
Genifer got me this Reds shirt for our anniversary…
Awe. Some. And it’s funny because it’s true. Thanks, baby! π

Homer Bailey Dual No-Hitter Bobbleheads.
As part of our season ticket package, we had tickets to tonight’s Reds game. We typically
avoid Friday and Saturday night games like the plague. There’s just way too many people
at those games for us. This Saturday was Homer Bailey bobblehead night, commemorating
his the two no-hitters he threw last season. We started to walk down to the 5:15pm because
the gates were scheduled to open at 5:40pm. But as we approached GABP we could see
the gates were already open…
But not to worry. They still had plenty of bobbleheads left when we got there…

And here they are…

And when we got home, we unboxed one of our Homey Bailer bobbleheads..
Pretty dang cool! π

Bullseye and The Polecats.
The creative director at work is the drummer in a band called The Polecats. They were
playing tonight at the recently rebranded, Bullseye. We made our way down Sixth Street
to check out both Bullseye and The Polecats.

It turned out to be a really fun evening. Bullseye wasn’t half bad. Very entertaining people
watching. And The Polecats were a really talented cover band. You can’t go wrong with
classic 80s rock! π
