The Reds game got over so quick that we were still able to make it to Fountain Square just in time to hear the last band of this week’s Midpoint Indie Summer, Black Signal.

You can’t beat all the free music on the Square. 🙂

Reds game 19/40.
Reds game 19/40. Reds versus Miami Marlins. Irish Heritage Night at GABP.

Mike Leake was on point for the Reds tonight. He retired the first 13 batters he faced, ultimately he set the tone for the Redlegs throwing seven innings of two-hit ball.

BARGE!
Marlon Byrd homered to spark the offense in his first game back off the DL.

Marlins slugger Giancarlo Stanton…

Mike Leake flirted with a no-hitter through the first 5 2/3…

Ichiro! I didn’t even know he played for the Marlins…

And the one belongs to the Reds, 5-0!

Flipdaddy’s Burgers & Beers.
Flipdaddy’s Burgers & Beers. We’ve been up to the location in Symmes Township a couple of times. And just recently, they opened a location across the river at Newport Pavilion in Newport, Kentucky. Whenever we drove by on the way to the grocery, it’s always been packed. Today, I had my summer hours (half-day every other Friday), and it was raining so we drove over to Newport to finally check it out…

Genifer ordered The French Connection with Boursin cheese, aioli and thinly sliced, deep fried red onion straws…
And I had the burger of the month, the Alex Quebec topped with french fries, beef gravy, cheddar cheese and house-made onion jam…
We’ll definitely be back to Flipdaddy’s in Newport for more of their delicious burgers. 🙂
