On a whim, we picked up a little deep fryer called the Presto Fry Daddy today…



And we tried it out with some deep fried goodness…

We stopped for a delicious Mexican lunch this afternoon at Rio Grande…

I got got the same thing I always get, a ground beef Chimichanga. And it was delicious
as usual. 🙂

A while back I heard that Kona Brewing Co. was going to start distributing to Ohio. But
I wasn’t sure exactly when it was going to happen. Then we were in at the grocery this
evening and poof! There were some Kona beers. We tried Kona’s Longboard Island Lager…


Good stuff! But I can’t wait to try Kona’s Coco Loco Toasted Coconut Brown Ale or their
Bourbon Barrel Aged Grind Buzz Kona Coffee Imperial Stout. Welcome to OHio, Kona! 🙂

I feel very honored to have my photos in the new Downtown Cincinnati Guide. Again.
And I definitely still love living in downtown Cincinnati. 🙂

We walked down to US Bank Arena to watch tonight’s Cyclones hockey game…

And then we saw the line for tickets…

Oh dear. I guess we’ll get tickets earlier and just go to next Tuesday’s game.

I couldn’t believe just how many people were still all sad and upset about the Bengals
playoff loss yesterday. I mean, the Bengals haven’t won a playoff game since back in
1991. So really what were you expecting? Because we’re talking about the Bengals.

Remember a couple of years back when I went to Voodoo Doughnuts in Portland? Well,
I found this Rogue Voodoo Doughnut Bacon Maple Ale quite a while back. To make some
space in our I decided to finally crack it open and give it a try…


Mmm… Bacony. I wish it was a little less smoky and little more mapley. It was nowhere
near as good as the doughnut it was named after. But still not too bad.

We were over across the river in the Commonwealth, running some errands and looking
for something to eat. We stumbled across Virgil’s Cafe in Bellevue. I’ve heard nothing but
good things about the place and knew it was over there somewhere but wasn’t exactly
sure where. We were so hungry I completely lapsed on grabbing a photo of outside of
Virgil’s. But the inside of the place is pretty teeny-tiny…

I also completely blanked on taking a photo of Genifer’s delicious chef salad and worse
still, I have no photographic proof that I devoured one of the best burgers that I’ve ever
had. But I did remember to get a photo of our appetizer of Buttermilk soaked frog legs…

Neither of us had ever tried frog legs before. And you know, they were really pretty good.
Not exactly something I would rush right back to eat again. But at least now I can say
that I’ve tried them. They came with these cheddar and jalapeno hush puppies that were
just incredible. And as far as a photo of that amazing burger… I guess I’ll just have to take
one for the team, and go eat another one. You know, just so I can get a photo. Oh, the sacrifices
I’m willing to make for this blog. 🙂

We went to lunch in Mainstrasse and saw these really incredible snow sculptures…


Later we walking through Lytle Park and found another less sophisticated little snowman…
