Tonight, we went to the Square to check out the new Friday night happy hour 4EG Rocktober.



It was fun just like the Monday Happy Hours but a lot chillier. It might be time time
to break out the fall jackets. Because brrrr.

We tried a couple of different autumny beers of late. We tried one called Autumn Maple
from The Bruery. At 10.0% ABV, it was pretty strong but had a nice maple flavor to it.


And we tried Smashed Pumpkin from Maine’s Shipyard Brewing Co. It had a really nice
pumpkin flavor, and was very easy to drink.

Both were good. But neither was better than Southern Tier’s Pumking. That’s the best
autumn beer we’ve ever had. 🙂

We’ll be at GABP for the Reds versus Giants on Tuesday!

I couldn’t decide to get lunch from Cafe de Wheels or Pizza Bomba today…

So I got a Wheels burger and fries from Cafe de Wheels…

And I got a slice of pepperoni pizza from Pizza Bomba for a snack for later…

Great lunch. 🙂

After work, I stopped by the Weston Art Gallery to check out the new exhibit, Taint.
From the artist, Anthony Luensman…
“The title TAINT indicates a border line, a mostly hidden space. The content of my
work walks this line, explores this space, and discovers delight in such zones.
The title may also suggest the notion of being “tainted.” Humor, however, can often
reveal contradictions and subjectivities in our personal and collective judgements.
Playful flippancies, title puns and material choices are all designed to undermine
the title, to “un-taint” display of desire and affection.”

This weekend was Midpoint Music Festival. One of the neat features this year was the
4EG Midpoint Midway. Twelfth Street was blocked off between Vine and Walnut for three
days of “frolic and frivolity” with activities including the 2nd annual Artworks Box Truck
Carnival, MPMF Poster Expo presented by Powerhouse Factories, Third Man Rolling
Record Store and the Chipotle Bike Center…














And there was the 4EG Second Play Stage featuring MPMF artists playing surprise shows.











It was fun to hang out and enjoy a little taste of the Midpoint Music Festival. 🙂

We stopped in at The Lackman for a drink. And they had Founder’s Breakfast Stout on tap.

There’s a new banner hanging on the Square celebrating the Reds trip to the postseason.


Oh. And we got tickets to the first home game for the upcoming Reds NLDS at GABP!
We couldn’t possibly be more excited! Go Reds! 🙂

It’s Friday! And that means Via Vite has their incredible lasagna today.
