After stopping in for a drink to scope the place out last night, we stopped back into
Crave to have a drink and check out their menu. Did you know that they have a Saturday
happy hour that runs from 11-6? No kidding. I don’t know another place that does this.
I started off with one of their Summer Shandy signature cocktails…

Then our friends Gretchen and Martin joined us. We had a few drinks and ordered a few
dishes to share off of their happy hour menu. We ordered the Kogi beef tacos…

Korean chicken nuggets…

Chicken sliders…

Steak bites…

And we just had to try the S’more brownie for dessert…


When we were getting ready to leave, the place was packed…

Incredible place with very delicious yet surprisingly reasonable food.
I definitely see us spending many a Saturday afternoon at Crave. 🙂

I was contacted a while back by the architecture firm that designed all the water
features at Smale Riverfront Park. They saw the photos that I took of the park, and
they asked me to take some more photos of the park for them. Today, I finally got out
to photograph the latest gem in downtown Cincinnati.

As a lead in to the Coney Eating Contest, Cincinnati eating champion, Joe LaRue is
going attempt to set a world record of the most cheese coneys devoured in 90 seconds.
I’m not sure what the current world record is or if there even is a current record.
But as the reigning Coney Eating Champ with 14 coneys in three minutes at last year’s
contest, I know Joe can pack away the coneys…



Go Joe!





And at the end of 90 seconds, Joe had downed 9 cheese coneys! Way to go, Joe!
I don’t know if that’s a world record or not but either way, it’s a lot of dogs.

I got some new flip-flops today. My old ones were starting to hurt my feets.

This evening I got all of my photos uploaded and blog posts completed from the weekend.

This was a pretty epic weekend as far as non-holiday weekends are concerned. We packed
a bunch of activities into just a couple of days.

Friday night, we went to the Reds-Tigers game and listened to a bit of the Midpoint Music
Indie Summer Series on Fountain Square.

Saturday, we wandered through The City Flea, and had a pretty spectacular chicken sammich
from Cafe de Wheels. From there, we spent the affternoon at the zoo. We love the zoo. Then,
we came home watched the end of the Reds game, and caught our breath for a minute. Finally,
we ventured across the river to Covington to hear one of my favorite bands, Pomegranates
play at Madison Theatre. And they released a new album called Heaven that I cannot wait to
listen to over and over again.

Sunday, we watched the Spain-Italy Euro 2012 match on TV at home. Then we walked across
the river to wander through Newport Italian Fest. From there, we watched Ireland and Croatia
square off in an Irish pub. We made our way back home to change into our Reds gear, and head
out to the final game of the Reds-Tigers series which was on ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball.

Mix in a bunch of dog walks, and that was pretty much our weekend. Keep an eye on this post.
I already have most of the photos uploaded to my Flickr. And I’ll be adding links to each
blog posts as I get them done. It’s rainy today so hopefully I’ll be able to get all the posts
up this evening.

After wandering around the Italian Fest, we decided to relax and watch the Ireland-Croatia
match of Euro 2012. And what better place to watch a football match than an Irish pub?


Croatia was the better side on the night, and emerged with a 3-1 win.

Ater the Spain-Italy Euro 2012 match, we walked across the river to get some lunch at the
21st annual Newport Italian Fest which was taking place just below Newport on the Levee…

Despite the heat, Italian Fest was a lot of fun. 🙂

Pomegranates were having a release party at Madison Theatre for their new album, Heaven.






























They always put on such an incredible show. It was a terrifc end to a terrific day. 🙂

Today was my company’s summer picnic at the Cincinnati Zoo. We love going to the zoo.
