Slow down and grill.

We drove out to suburbia this afternoon to have a Memorial Day cook-out with Geri…

Steaks were just the tip of the iceberg. There were also cheeseburgers and hot dogs and all sorts of sides. Soooo much food. It was a good time. It’s always really good to see her. And one the way home, we saw this double rainbow…

And it stuck around until we got on the highway to head home…

Pretty cool. πŸ˜€πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ₯©πŸŒˆβ€οΈ

Happy National Pizza Party Day!

We stopped at NYPD on our way home to pick up a cheese pizza so we could celebrate National Pizza Party Day!Β

And it was delicious. Every day should be National Pizza Party Day!Β πŸ˜€πŸ•β€οΈ

Deskey’s Opening Day Celebration

Deskey hosted their annual Opening Day Celebration

It was a pretty fun afternoon. Thankfully, I didn’t have to do any Opening Day front window installations this year. Click to see all the photos I took at Deskey’s Opening Day Celebration. πŸ˜€βšΎοΈπŸŒπŸ†β€οΈ

A Saturday in OtR.

This afternoon we rode the Metro 17 bus into Over-the-Rhine…

We walked through beautifulΒ Washington Park

And over to one of very our favorite OtR spots,Β Queen City Radio

We got a couple delicious of Queen City Radio Whip Burgers and fries…

And we did some St. Patty’s Day celebrating…

QCR had green jello shots. Green jello shots are my favorite…

And then we walked over to Cobblestone OtR. We’d never been there before…

It’s a pretty fun little neighborhood watering hole…

And we stopped by another one of our favorite spots, Sundry and Vice

We walked by 16-bit but it looked crazy in there…

So we got an Uber and headed for home…

It was another really fun evening in OtR. πŸ˜€πŸΊβ€οΈ

Pi Day at Chameleon.

We stopped at Chameleon in Northside to get some delicious Chameleon pizza slices to celebrate Pi Day. As soon as we got inside Chameleon, it started pouring again…

They had the weather storm on their TV. We’re right in between Cumminsville and 127 on the map…

We shared a bucket of beers and watched the weather…

And then it was pizza time!

Chameleon’s cheese pizza is soooo good…

And so are their fries with queso. Because pizza and french fries definitely go together…

What a great way to celebrate Pi Day! We love Chameleon. πŸ˜€πŸ•πŸŸπŸΊβ€οΈ

Deskey Pi Day Pie Contest.

Deskey had a Pi Day Pie Contest today to celebrate Pi Day on 3.14…

There were two savory pies and five sweet pies. All of them were pretty tasty. πŸ˜€πŸ₯§β€οΈ

Mardi Gras at Overlook Lodge.

After brunch at Revolution Rotisserie, we walked over to Overlook Lodge

Overlook was hosting a Madri Gras party this afternoon…

We met our friends Chris and Tayler at Overlook for the festivities…

Overlook was mixing up some hurricanes…

Out on their back patio, they were having a big crawfish boil

I tried my best to eat as many crawfish as I could. They’re tricky little buggers. And there was also a giant king cake which was much easier to eat…

Somehow, the baby from the king cake was already in the pine tree on our table when we got to Overlook. It took us a while to notice him but there he was, just hanging out…

It was such a fun afternoon celebrating Madri Gras at Overlook in Pleasant Ridge!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

This evening we went out to celebrate Valentine’s Day! We talked about grandiose plans and expensive dinners. But instead, we just stopped at new favorite placeΒ Northside Distilling to try one of their special Valentine’s Day cocktails

Genifer ordered The Bless Your Heart…

And I ordered The Dudette. Don’t judge me. It was delicious…

Then we headed back to Northside and stopped at Chameleon for a couple of cheese pizza slices and BBQ chicken wings. We’re not fancy…

Chameleon’s pizza and wings are both out of this world! Sometimes the best Valentine’s Day plans are the simplest. πŸ˜€πŸ’πŸ₯ƒπŸ•β€οΈ

Deskey Secret Valentines.

We drew names at work for Deskey Secret Valentines. I drew our proofreader, Susan and here are the valentines I made for her…

I was just going to do the little photo of her dog Jack who is a pretty funny little dog. He reminds me a lot of Oscar. But then I was looking at Pinterest and saw these other ideas that I thought were pretty cute as well. The inside of little card said, “Thanks a LATTE for all you do.” And inside the dynamite sticks were stacks of Reese’s mini peanut butter cups. Pinterest is awesome for getting ideas for stuff like this.

Here’s the Deskey Secret Valentine that I received…

I got this awesome little owl made out of seashells…

And that means the seashell bunny I got from the Deskey White Elephant gift exchange a couple of years back has a new best friend…

Deskey Secret Valentines are pretty fun. πŸ˜€πŸ¦‰πŸ°β€οΈ
