Moving just a little bit slow.

I’m able to get up and move around the house without a lot of problems or discomfort. It just takes me a little while to get anywhere…

Mack was waiting for me to finally make it all the way upstairs so we could watch the soccer matches together. All things considered, I’m not doing too bad. 😀🐾📺⚽️❤️

Checking in on the OscarCams.

We checked the OscarCams to see what Oscar was doing while we were having lunch at Mac’s Pizza Pub before tonight’s FC Cincinnati match. And he was just crashed out on our sofa in the living room…

The OscarCams are fun. You can get your own OscarCams from Wyze. 😀🐾📷❤️

We got an electric lawnmower.

We bought a lawnmower from Amazon and it arrived today…

We got the Earthwise 14-Inch Mulching Corded Electric Lawn Mower from Amazon along with a new 100 foot extension cord…

It actually did a really nice job of cutting the grass in our backyard. It was much faster than the modified weedwacker I was to using to trim the grass in the backyard. And the best part was, it was free! I used the points I had accumulated from my Amazon Visa and only had to pay for the shipping. Best $12 I’ve ever spent! 😀❤️

Pause for paws.

This evening we were getting our stuff together in anticipation of our big fun Bunbury Music Festival weekend downtown, and Oscar was playing peek-a-boo in his new comforter that Grandma gave him when she was over on Memorial Day…

He’s so silly with that blanket. He loves doing roll-arounds on it, and he loves it when you cover him up and rub him through the blanket. You just have to be really careful with your fingers and toes because he’ll start to play rougher and rougher and has nipped some fingers and toes before. He’s so funny.

I also took these photos of Mack with my Polaroid CUBE…

I made the mistake of setting down my Polaroid CUBE shortly after taking this photo. When I turned away, Mack got hold of it and started chewing it. And that sucks. The bad news is, he chewed it and in doing so cracked the little plastic lens cover on the front of the camera. Good news is it still works. But the bad news is there isn’t any way to really protect the lens now. Better news I found the upgraded Polaroid CUBE super on sale for less than I paid for my original CUBE. And the upgraded CUBE has built-in Wi-Fi connectivity and free app that turns your mobile device into a viewfinder and shutter remote that works up to 30 feet away. I’ve been wanting the upgraded CUBE for a while. So good dog, Mack.  I’ll just be more mindful of where I set my new CUBE when it arrives. Thankfully that’s the only thing he’s chewed so far. Knock on wood.

I’m really bummed about my old CUBE but super excited for my new CUBE. 😀🐾📷❤️

Pause for paws.

We were pretty lazy this morning. We just laid around and watched some tv…

Lazy Sundays are the best. 😀🐾📺❤️

A lazy Sunday.

We had a pretty lazy Sunday.

We cut the cord. Finally.

This morning we made it official. We cut the cord. We finally pulled the plug on our cable and ditched Spectrum/Time Warner. This morning a service technician hooked us up to Cincinnati Bell Fioptics in an installation process that was not nearly as simple as I thought it would be. But after watching him work all morning to get us up and running, we’re experiencing Fioptics and it’s so far so good. Everything works just fine. We didn’t really watch our cable all that much. We usually watched Netflix or Hulu (free with Sprint!) or Amazon Prime Video in the evenings while we also streamed whatever sports were on that evening on a tablet. We’ve also been testing Sling TV for the last couple of weeks and found that Sling has almost everything we watched on cable and then some.

This isn’t a comprehensive review of Sling TV. Just a declaration of independence from Spectrum that feels incredibly liberating. Sling works great through our Amazon Fire TV sticks or our Google Chromecasts. We can also stream all of our channels anywhere we go through our mobile devices. We get all of my soccer and all of Reds games. And we have 50 hours of DVR space. The only downside so far is a lack of local channels. We didn’t really watch local tv at all except for weekend sporting events. And I figure that won’t really be much of a problem until around football season. But there seems to be a pretty easy fix to that problem though with the AirTV Player that is said to integrate seamlessly with Sling TV. We’ll look into adding that option soonish.

The best part of cutting the cord and ditching cable is that we’ll save about $70 a month. You can’t beat that. Getting to say, Bye Felicia to Spectrum isn’t bad either.
😀📺✂️❤️

Cheers!

Tonight, we enjoyed our growler of Urban Artifact’s Jalapeno Margarita Keypunch from Higher Gravity in glasses from Braxton on our back patio

And it was really good. That’s all. 😀🍺❤️

Our front yard.

The not-so-little little tree in our front yard has always had a pretty precarious lean to it. Come to find out, our neighbors called it The Leaning Tree of Northside…

We didn’t know what to do to try to rectify the situation. To try to get it to stand upright would be a long-term project and a more than likely a real chore. And if we could get it stand upright without the lean, it would hang into our neighbors driveway. It was really difficult to mow around because the branches were so low to the ground. And Genifer thought our not-so-little little tree was getting much too big for our little front yard because it blocked so much of the front of our house…

So this afternoon, we chopped down the not-so-little little tree in our front yard…

I got a little electric chainsaw from Lowe’s. We cut it down and chopped it up. And now our front yard is a blank canvas that we can make into more of what we had in mind…

Now we can replace the tree with little shrubs. I think the plan is to add stones in an L shape extending from our front path to where the tree used to be and then add some little shrubs along our front porch and one slightly larger shrub where the tree used to stand. It was odd to look at our OscarCam after we removed the tree. The cameras hadn’t updated the still photo on the home screen yet. Before removing the tree…

And after removing the tree…

Poor not-so-little little tree. It’s a shame someone did such a crappy job of planting you. 😦🌳❤️

Thank You, CanvasChamp!

You might have noticed the Dealspotr logo that showed up a while ago near the bottom of the sidebar here on our blog. I’ve become a verified influencer with Dealspotr.com.  At its core, Dealspotr is a crowdsourcing platform for deal sharing tapped into the power of community to maintain the internet’s largest, most reliable database of promo codes. Personally, I really like Honey. But that’s neither here nor there. But Dealspotr also the Dealspotr Marketplace where they connect influencers and bloggers with brands to promote their brand, products and deals on Dealspotr.

The first brand I wanted to promote was CanvasChampthe “CHAMPION” of Home Decor Printing. As you know, I really love taking photos and capturing memories. CanvasChamp has been passionate about preserving and showcasing those memories with canvas prints that are of the highest level quality yet surprisingly inexpensive. They also handcraft other home decor products that are easy on the wallet as well. They are so confident in their rates that they have their “BEST PRICE GUARANTEE” meaning they’ll match any published price on the internet and beat it by an additional 10%. They claim only thing cheap in a CanvasChamp print is the price. When I was given the opportunity to see for myself, I jumped at the chance.

Set-up was really easy. I selected a 16×20″ canvas. The next step was the hardest step of the entire process: choosing which photo to get printed. I selected a photo from our wedding in Jamaica from my desktop. I discovered you can also upload photos straight from your Instagram, which I thought was a really neat feature. Next, you choose your wrap. I chose a thin gallery wrap meaning my canvas was going to have a 3/4″ inch thickness. Then it was onto choosing the border. I choose to have the photo wrap onto the edges of the canvas. The final steps were choosing the style of the hardware for hanging and any optional color finishing. And then you add your finished creation to your cart. Easy as that. I placed my order and five days later we came home to this was sitting on our front porch…

They really wrapped it up tight for safe shipping…

WOW! Our canvas print turned out awesome!

There’s our hanging hardware on the back…

We took it upstairs to hang in our front bedroom. And it looks fantastic!

The clarity of the photo is amazing. There isn’t any blurriness or pixelization…

The photo wraps around the sides of canvas…

Awesome. Thanks, CanvasChamp! This was easily one of the best quality printed canvases that I’ve seen. And I’ll definitely be ordering more canvases very soon! This canvas would have been just under $20. You really can’t beat that.

Get a free 8″X8″ canvas print with your first order when you enter the promotional code, THADDF OR  FREE8X8 at checkout.
