Then it was time for the Oktoberfest Zinzinnati World Bratwurst-Eating Championship…
The man, the myth, the legend… Joey Chestnut…
Joey Chestnut retained his crown by downing 45 brats in 10 minutes. But he didn’t manage to break his record of 70 in 10 minutes. However, we did manage to get a photo with Joey and Major League Eating MC Sam Barclay…
Who Dey Baby! 
And we wound down our Oktoberfest listening to the Klaberheads…

We headed down to America’s Oktoberfest, Oktoberfest Zinzinnati this afternoon…

New this year at Oktoberfest was Brewer’s Alley with all sorts of microbrews…
And I finally broke down and got a chicken hat!

Running of the Wieners.
Today, I met Genifer on over on Fountain Square just a little bit after noon for the annual Oktoberfest Zinzinnati Running of the Wieners…
I got there a bit too late. And there were already a bunch of people on the Square…
Last year, we had a spot right on the railing. This year, we didn’t even try to fight the crowds and just watched the races on Fountain Square’s big screen…
This year’s winner was a wiener named Max. Second place went to a dog named Pele…
The Running of the Wieners marks the start of one of the funnest weekends in downtown Cincinnati. And we can’t wait! 🙂

It has begun.
Downtown Cincinnati is getting ready for one of its’ funnest weekends, Oktoberfest Zinzinnati! They’ve started putting up the Kentucky Ale tent at P&G Gardens…
And they’ve started constructing the Moerlein Beer Garden and Glockenspiel…
It’s so exciting. And we can’t wait for another Oktoberfest Zinzinnati to get started. 🙂

Reds game 41 of the season. The Pirates were in town for three starting on Labor Day…
Jay Bruce tallied his 1000th hit of his career in a 13-pitch at-bat that sparked a three-run second inning for the Reds…
19,000+ huh?
Anthony DeScalfani went for 7 1/3 innings, giving up just 1 run…
The Pirates helped the Reds to 3-1 win by committing four errors…

The Terrace Rooftop Bar.
While the Riverfest fireworks were going on, we walked up Broadway to the Casino…
They were debuting their new rooftop cocktail terrace called… The Terrace Rooftop Bar. 
The giant lamp/space heaters were pretty cool…
The smoke from all the fireworks was starting to overtake downtown…
There were a few first night kinks that you could tell they’ll have to work through, like the very small bar that led to lengthy lines for drinks. We would go back downstairs to Rock Bar when we wanted to get a drink. Everything seemed kind of thrown together at the last minute. Like they weren’t sure what they wanted to the space to be. It’ll be pretty nice once they fully realize the potential and vision for what the space will ultimately become. My thought is, you can never have too many rooftop bars. Ever. 🙂
