After work this evening, we cracked open the one Sonoran WHT CHCLT that we brought back with us from our trip to Phoenix for Spring Training…

It seems like as good of time as ever. Who would have thought that a white chocolate beer might be one of the best beers I’ve ever tasted? Taken with Instagram. 🙂

So it’s been a minute since I’ve had a grilled cheese from Tom+Chee. I’m not really sure why. It’s just been a minute. Today was so rainy and gray outside that a grilled cheese sounded like the perfect lunch. I headed up to Court Street to get some of their cheesy goodness only to find Tom+Chee had a whole new shop just across the alley from their original, old location. A much bigger, swankier new home…





I got my most very favoritest Tom+Chee sammich, the BBQ Bacon on a donut. I also picked up a regular, yet amazing grilled chee sammich for a snack later. All I’m saying is that a grilled chee from Tom+Chee is like a ray of sunshine on this gloomy, rainy day…

And I’m really digging their new to-go boxes. It’s always amazing to seem some local folks doing some really great things! 🙂

It feels like it’s been forever since we’ve been to our last Cyclones hockey game. But the ‘Clones were finally back in town and we’re back for hockey at US Bank Arena…

And after the five minute overtime, we were on to shoot-outs…





And somehow the Cyclones managed to snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory…


Ugh.

Being sick is no fun. And I have one doozy of a cold…

It seems like I always get sick when I get back from holiday. And it’s making me feel a bit sheepish today…

Believe it or not, I have never eaten at an International House of Pancakes before. We had planned to eat at the new IHOP at Newport Pavilion when we landed after our redeye back from Phoenix. We landed twenty-five minutes later than scheduled and then it took forever to get our luggage. So long story short was that we just ran out of time on Wednesday for breakfast. But we had plenty of time today…

But I’m just going to go with regular good old-fashioned syrup…

The classic. Genifer got the 2 pancakes, 2 eggs and 2 sausage combo…

And I got the Belgian waffle with 2 eggs and 2 sausage combo…

Awesome stuff. It’s been forever since I’ve had pancakes or a Belgian waffle. And I had forgotten just how delicious they are. Light and fluffy and sweet with syrup. The eggs were delicious and the sausages were perfectly done. We’re going to have to go out for breakfast more often! 🙂

We stumbled across another one of the 2015 Canstruction exhibits. This one was in the lobby of the Hyatt Regency downtown. And recreated some of Charley Harper’s famous bird artwork…




Pretty neat stuff. It’s amazing what people can create with just a bunch of cans. 🙂

This afternoon we walked down to Yeatman’s Cove at Sawyer Point Park to check out the current height of the Ohio River. I kept getting all sorts of notifications and alerts while we were out of town that the river has been creeping up well over flood levels…
