We didn’t do much this evening. The on-again off-again rain showers put the kibosh on
our plans of going down to the Cincy Brew Ha Ha. The Reds game finally started after
about a two hour rain delay…
They finally snapped their seven game losing streak by beating the Braves 1-0! BP singled
in the games only run. And Mike Leake was brilliant on the mound for the Reds. One of the
headlines I saw after the game was pretty cleaver, “Righty plugs Leake in Reds’ sinking ship.”
Hopefully, the Reds will be able to build some momentum and win two in a row when we go to
the Reds game tomorrow. π
A low-key, rainy Saturday.

It takes all types.
When we were walking the dogs through Lytle Park, we saw this lady out walking her cat…

I guess it takes all types to make the world go round. π

Free LaRosa’s pizza #8!
This evening we cashed in on our EIGHTH free pizza of the season thanks to the Reds
pitchers striking out 11 batters against the Reds Sox last Wednesday, and particular
thanks to Aroldis Chapman, who struck out the side in the ninth to land us on 11 Ks!
Bring on the free LaRosa’s pizzas! We started with some pepperoni Rondos…
I went with sausage again…
And Genifer got another pepperoni pizza…
Free pizza tastes delicious! π

Our first bike ride.
Tonight, we went on our first bike ride together with Genifer’s new bike. We rode along
the Ohio River down to Friendship Park and passed the Castle of Air…
And turned circled around the Crystalline Tower…
And rode back by the boathouse…
Through Sawyer Point and Yeatman’s Cove…
Passed the swings at Smale Riverfront Park…
The Roebling Suspension Bridge…
And Paul Brown Stadium…

I worked on that banner while I was at Fifth Third…
It was really fun to get out and ride bikes again! According to my Runkeeper, we rode about
5.5 miles in a little under an hour. We’re already starting to plan new rides and adventures
on our bikes. π

Cincy Red Bike.
We noticed one of the Cincy Red Bike racks was in place on Fountain Square…
“Cincy Red Bike is a bike share program. It’s like a taxi or a bus for people looking for
short trips around town. A user will be able to take a bike from one spot and go to
another. Imagine you are in your office downtown and you need to get to a lunch in
Over-the-Rhine. You can ride a bike. Or if you have an early dinner and want to get
to a Reds game. You can ride a bike.”
Just take a bike from one rack, and park it at another. Pretty cool. π

Downtown Cincy Restaurant Week: Morton’s Steakhouse.
We took advantage of the last day of Downtown Cincinnati Restaurant Week by hitting
up Morton’s Steakhouse. We had a $100 gift card from my PNC Points Credit Card just
sitting there waiting to be used. Seemed to us like the perfect time to use it. A three
course dinner at Morton’s for just $35 each? Heck. Sign us up for that deal. Two please!
Our meal started with this small planet made out of bread…
Genifer had the chopped salad…
I had the caesar…
Look at that delicious filet…
Just a mouth-watering slab of meat.
Genifer’s chosen side was broccoli…
Mine was sour cream mashed potatoes…

I ordered the chocolate mousse for dessert…
And Genifer ordered the Key Lime pie…
She clearly won the dessert round. It was an incredible meal, we were stuffed. And the
best part was, with our gift card all we had to pay for was the tip! You can’t beat that!
We love eating at Morton’s. π

Northern Kentucky details.

Now that’s a big bell. The World Peace Bell was once the largest bell in the world. π

Downtown Cincy Restaurant Week: Trattoria Roma.
We walk by Trattoria Roma on Sixth Street almost every day, and have never stopped in
to check it out for whatever reason. This evening we finally got around to taking advantage
of the Downtown Cincinnati Restaurant Week by having dinner at Trattoria Roma…
We were started off with some delicious rolls…
The first of our three courses were salads. We both had the caesar salad…
Genifer ordered the filet with asparagus and potatoes…
Simply delicious. And I ordered the veal parmigiana…
Absolutely amazing! For dessert, Genifer ordered the cannoli…
And I ordered the tiramisu…
The tiramisu alone was well worth the price of admission by itself. Absolutely incredible!
Everything was simply delicious. The next time we’re crazing some delicious Italian food,
we’ll definitely be back! π

D.Burnham’s at the Renaissance Hotel.
This afternoon, we went back to the newly opened Renaissance Hotel downtown…
And we had lunch at their restaurant, D.Burnham’s. Genifer ordered this turkey burger…
It was the most delicious turkey burger that I’ve ever tasted. Seasoned to perfection.
I ordered this monstrous BBQ cheeseburger with Jarlsburg cheese…

It was an incredibly delicious and huge lunch. When you go (ha ha, pun intended), you
have to play with the lighting on the mirrors in the bathrooms…
We’ll definitely be back to have lunch or dinner at D.Burnham’s. To split something. π
Yet another great restaurant in downtown Cincinnati. π
