After wandering through Goettafest, we stopped by Smale Riverfront Park to listen to a
free concert by local country music legend, Bobby Mackey…

There was a wedding party taking photos…

Bobby Mackey…

He belted out a bunch of great country hits including a lot of Johnny Cash. π

Glier’s Goettafest, part one.
We ventured across the river to Riverboat Row at Newport on the Levee to check out the
other Goestta Fest, Glier’s Goettafest. And for the non-Cincinnatian’s out there, Goetta is
a breakfast sausage of German-American origin that is popular in the greater Cincinnati
area. It is primarily composed of ground meat, pork and beef, pin-head oats and spices.

We placed pins on the map of where we are both originally from…

That’s punny.

We got some Goetta Balls…
There were three but Genifer bit into one before I could snap a photo…

Goetta corn dog…

There was a poor girl trapped inside this wee little box…

Goetta is some really good stuff! π

Renaissance Hotel Cincinnati.
Not too long ago, the new Renaissance Hotel opened at the corner of Fourth and Walnut
Streets. Today, we stopped in to take a look around…

We decided to have a drink in their restaurant/bar, D.Burnham’s…
The lounge/bar area…

I wish I would have brought my checkers…

And the dining room…

And their special slightly more private dinning room…
And another little lounge area…

Now about that drink…
We had a couple of Cougars from Rhinegheist. While we were enjoying our beers, we got
a chance to look over their menu offering “contemporary Midwestern American fare.” And it
featured a bunch of really delicious sounding options that were surprisingly reasonable. We
can’t wait to head back to D. Burnham’s at the Renaissance for dinner sometime soon. π

Our ArtWorks mural.
They have to be really close to putting the final finish touches on the ArtWorks mural
at the corner of Eighth and Main Streets…

Now they even have the artist’s name completed…

I can’t wait to see the mural when the scaffolding comes down. π

Happy trails, Kiji Teppanyaki.
We noticed that Kiji Teppanyaki on Sixth Street has closed…
I think it took them longer to renovate than the amount of time they were actually open.
Oh well. Happy trails, Kiji. We hardly knew you.

Reds baseball game #23!
This morning the Reds unveiled the logo for the 2015 MLB All-Star game in Cincinnati…
Pretty cool logo. I was hoping for some reference to GABP in the logo. Like the iconic
PNC Power Stacks or something. But nonetheless, it’s still a pretty cool logo. After work,
we hustled down to GABP to get our Jay Bruuuuuuuuce bobblehead…
We got the last two. But not really. At all…

We brought our Bruuuuuce bobbleheads back home…

We had to re-enter GABP through the re-entry gate and I completely forgot to take our
normal photo of the outside of Great American Ball Park…

Mat Latos was on the hill for the Reds…

Kristopher Negron blasted a three run shot…

Something was wrong with Latos’ finger is what I’m guessing…

BARGE!
And BARGE!!
Check out this guy’s pacifier…
And the Indian’s mascot, Slider. It was up in the upper deck with the real fans…

Why isn’t their mascot an Indian? And what the heck is a Slider? Like White Castle?

The Indians had a pow-wow on the mound…
And another Indian’s pow-wow…
Tito…
Terry Francona…

The ToddFather…

He would drive in both Cozart and Latos. Mr. Mustache pacifier guy again…

BARGE!!!
There’s the new 2015 MLB All-Star Game logo out in right field…
Good outing for Latos. He went 7.2 giving up 3 runs on 6 hits…

Bring on the Jumbo…

LeCure came on the shut the door on the Indians. And this one belongs to the Reds!

Negron with 3 hits and Cozart with 4 RBI!

Maybe the Reds are getting back to their winning ways from before the All-Star Break.
Fingers crossed. We’re now 14-9 at Reds games we’ve been to this season!
Another great night at the ballpark! π

Why Marriage Matters Rally.
An overcast evening in downtown didn’t stop hundreds of people from gathering at Lytle
Park before scheduled demonstrations on Wednesday as a federal appeals court plans
to hear arguments over the constitutionality of bans on gay marriage in Ohio, Kentucky,
Michigan and Tennessee…

I dunno. Call me crazy. But I just think that real love is such a difficult thing to find that
you should be allowed to get married to whoever makes you happy. But that’s just me. π

Cincy Blues Fest.
This evening we headed down to Sawyer Point along the Ohio River to check out an event
we’ve been talking about going to for the last two summers, and that’s the Cincy Blues Fest…

The kids representing the Blues in the Schools program were very impressive…

And they drew quite the crowd…

The highlight of our Blue Fest was getting to hear Dayton’s very own Noah Wotherspoon…

Great night of fantastic music! We should have checked out Cincy Blues Fest along time ago.:)

Free LaRosa’s pizza #6!
After lunch at Packhouse, we ran some errands and picked up our SIXTH free LaRosa’s
pizza of this Reds season thanks to the Reds win over the Nats…
