After a disappointing Reds game, we headed back over to the Welcome Home Celebration
at Sawyer Point to wait for the fireworks…

And learning my lesson from yesterday, I just took a video of the fireworks…

What a great fireworks display! And what a great end to a great day! ๐
Back to the Welcome Home celebration.

Reds baseball game #16.
After hanging out for a bit at “Welcome Home: A Salute to Service” celebration over at
Sawyer Point, we headed over to see the Reds take on the Milwaukee Brewers. We’ve
never entered a game through the center field entrance…

Homey Bailer was on the hill for the Reds…

The Brewers Carlos Gomez…

BARGE!

BARGE!!
Yeah, there wasn’t much to cheer about for the Reds today…

We’re now 8-8 at Reds games the season.

Welcome Home: A Salute to Service.
After this morning’s parade, there was an appreciation festival for veterans and the service
community with activities for the entire family, including music by The Marty Connor Band…

We played some cornhole…

Genifer was whooping me…

And we got to hear an amazing rendition of “God Bless America” on the bagpipes…
We’ll be back for the fireworks after the Reds later tonight. ๐

Welcome Home parade.
Downtown this morning, there was the Welcome Home: A Salute to Service parade…

There should be a parade welcoming home each and every one of those brave men and
women who protect and serve our great country. Hopefully, this parade will continue to
grow and get bigger and bigger every year. They deserve a hero’s welcome. ๐

Fireworks on the Square.
We walked over to check out the Independence Day fireworks display on the Square…

Here we go…

In a word, it was extremely disappointing. The display lasted all of NINE minutes. NINE!
Nonetheless, Happy Independence Day weekend and third of July. ๐

Penn Station’s new BLT.
We have a confession. We love BLTs. And we really love Penn Station. When we heard
that Penn Station will soon be introducing a limited time only BLT, we jumped at the chance
to preview the new sammich before it was made available to the hungry masses…

“Penn Station’s BLT is loaded with thick-cut bacon, fresh lettuce, and roma tomatoes and
topped with Hellmanโs mayonnaise (optional). For those who are bacon lovers, their BLTs
have one slice of bacon per inch of sandwich and are truly unique compared to others.”

And that is one tasty sammich! Lots of delicious bacon, just the perfect amount of lettuce,
tomatoes and mayonnaise all on that delicious Penn Station bread…

And you know what the best part of the sammich was?

The best part was that I still had a whole other half to enjoy!

I’m not sure when it’ll be available to the public. When it is, make sure you give it a try! ๐
Thanks to Penn Station and Powers Agency for the delicious advanced BLT tasting.
Greatly appreciated! ๐
