Reds baseball game #5!
This afternoon we went the support our Reds. They were trying to take 3 out of 4 game
from the Brewers, the team with the best record in all of baseball…
I totally botched our tickets fro this game. We got $5 tickets but the were down the third
base line instead of our beloved upper deck seats down the first base line. So we ended
up watching most of the game from the gap in the upper deck…
It was May the Fourth at the Ball Park. And Star Wars character we everywhere…
Reds catcher Bryan Pena went yard…

It was Reds CF prospect, Skip Schumaker’s first start…

And Jo-ey Vot-to…

Darth Vader appeared behind us at the gap…

There was the Reds mascot race…

And this one goes the Gapper…

Votto came up with a big double…
@DatDudeBP…
Heisey…
The bases for chuck full of Reds…
BARGE!

$1 hot dogs FTW!
And then BP went yard!

Skippy…

And the game was going into extra baseball…
And we were out to watch the end across the street with beers…

The Reds would go on to win in the 10th on a Todd Frasier double scoring Chris Heisey
all the way from first!
And this one belongs to the Reds! We are now 4-1 Reds this season! π

Horseshoe Sunday.
We had yet another $10 voucher in free slots play at Horseshoe Casino. This afternoon
we wandered up to the casino to have a burger lunch at Margaritaville…

And then we played our $10 in free slots play, and flipped that into $11.16 cash…
It’s always nice when you can walk out the casino with extra money in your pocket. π

Cyclones hockey game #13: playoff edition!
We listened to the end of the Cyclones Eastern Conference semi-final game against the
Fort Wayne Komets last night online. The ‘Clones ended up losing the game 2-1 when the
Komets scored at the 19:52 mark in the third period. Yeah. They lost the game with EIGHT
seconds left. The kicker was the Reds were playing the Milwaukee Brewers and apparently
EVERYONE went to the Reds game because there were only 1300 people at Friday night’s
playoff hockey game. Friday’s Reds game at GABP was in front of 32,953 people…
Tonight, we decided to do our part to support our hometown hockey franchise and help
them get a couple more butts in the seats at US Bank Arena…
US Bank Arena was pretty much a ghost town…
At the end of the first, it was nil-nil…

1-0 CYCLONES!
2-0 CYCLONES!!

It started getting pretty chippy…

Still 2-1 Cyclones…
C’mon ‘Clones…
3-1 CYCLONES!!!
And 4-1 CYCLONES!!!!

Like I said, it was getting pretty chippy…

The Cyclones added an empty netter!

And the Cyclones took Game 2 by the score of 5-2…
The best of seven series is all knotted at one heading to Fort Wayne!

The Cyclones evened up the series at 1-1 in front of 1731 people. We did our small part
to support our favorite hockey team! GO CYCLONES! Take back the Kelly Cup! π
ps. The Reds won as well, 6-2 in front of 38,243. Go Cyclones & go Redlegs!
Oh, and the Cyclones game and the Reds game ended right around the same time…
Traffic was just ridiculous downtown. Thank goodness we could just walk home! π

Buck’s Badass Bash!
Bakersfield held their annual Buck’s Badass Bash today up on Vine Street in OtR…

Badass Bakersfield bandanas for everyone…
And more Bakersfield coozies to add to our collection…

The Dallas Moore Band was getting ready to perform…

Talk about the perfect band for this party. They’re one of my favorites.

Bakersfield sure knows how to throw one heck of a badass party! They should do one of
these every weekend! It was all sorts of fun! π

Morton’s Steakhouse.
So we do all of our banking with PNC. Awesome, awesome bank. I can’t believe I didn’t
have my money with them sooner. I have a PNC Rewards credit card. And with that card,
I earn a ton of points redeemable for all sorts of stuff. Like $100 gift cards to the world
famous Morton’s Steakhouse. We have two of those gift cards sitting in our rather sizable
stack of gift cards right now. We’ve eaten at Morton’s 12:21 bar during Power Hour, we’ve
actually been a few of times but we’ve never gone for the gusto and ordered their steaks.
Tonight, we decided to use one of those Morton’s gift cards for an anniversary dinner…

Genifer went for the 6oz. Filet Mignon…
And I ordered the 6oz. filet with 3 grilled shrimps & 2 bacon-wrapped scallops…
Look at that steak and those bacon-wrapped scallops..
And the asparagus and grilled shrimps…
YUM! Everything was beyond delicious! Heavenly! We’re gonna need more gift cards!

Reds baseball game #4!
Tonight was special. Three years ago today, Genifer and I went out on our first date to a
Reds game. The last two years the Reds haven’t played on our anniversary. But this year,
BOOM! Finally, another Reds game on our anniversary!
We got seats as close to the seats had on that magical evening…

Jo-ey Vot-to…

We were right down the first base line, even with Jay Bruce in right field…

Bruce saw us there and realized that Genifer was spoken for…
Sorry, bro. You mixed your chance. Votto and Tony Cingrani…
These guys brought their brooms to the game tonight even though the first game of the
series was rained out. I don’t understand how the Reds could possibly sweep a three
game series if only two of the three games are actually played.
If the Reds lose tonight, I know who to blame…
Thanks for jinxing the Reds. Idiots.

Billy Hamilton on second…

We couldn’t tolerate these jokers for a minute longer…
So we moved up to sit where we love sitting, with the real fans…

I don’t know why people pay all that money to sit in the lower deck. It seemed like no one
around us down below was even watching the game. It was just like chit-chat social hour.
Mr. Redlegs was up in the upper deck kicking’ it with the real fans…

We love sitting up in the upper deck down the third base line…

It was getting pretty chilly so we headed for home at the top of the ninth…

By the time we walked home, the Reds lost 9-4. Still, it was a great way to celebrate our
three year anniversary! I wish I knew how many Reds games we’ve been to together since
that first game. I’m know it’s well north of 75+ games. The one thing you can say is that
we just love our Reds baseball. π
