Epicocious.

I’m really excited about tomorrow. First, there’s the Championship League Final clash
of the titans between Barcelona and Manchester United. Epic. (Go Barca!). It’s also
Taste of Cincinnati. All weekend long. Epic in and of itself but made even more epic
by the Taste musical line-up that I just saw for Saturday. Ahem… wow. Remember
Cincinnati Brass? They’re playing in the afternoon followed by The Pinstripes, who
I’ve been trying to hear play for since last summer. And then in the evening are one
of my favorites, The Seedy Seeds followed by another of my favorites Pomegranates.
And the kicker, they are all playing in the P&G Gardens just a block from my apartment.
Throw in the very strong possibility of getting to spend time with Genifer, and we’ve
arrived at one epic Saturday. And I just can’t wait for tomorrow. 🙂

ps. Okay, I just did a search on my blog for The Seedy Seeds and then one for Pom.
This is nuts but check this out…

I think I might qualify as a fan of these two bands. LOL.

The ivy on my building is in full effect.

If life gives you lemons…

Ha. Either that, or you make some sort of fruity drink. Either way.
But I’m pretty lucky that I have no lemons in my life right now. 🙂

Via the interwebs.

Another gorgeous night in downtown Cincinnati.

And we walked 3.32 miles. 🙂

Hmm…

It looked like they were trying to get that building out of the OHio River. So we walked
across the Purple People Bridge to get a better look at just what they were doing…

Pretty evening though.

University Galleries.

I’ve lived above the University Galleries on Sycamore Street for almost two years now.
Not once in those two years have ever I seen even one person in the place. Until today…
The door was open and I had to see what the inside of this place actually looked like.

Apparently, DAAP is using the space to review Master’s of Architecture thesis’.

Interesting if not anti-climatic. I thought the place would be bigger inside. :/

It’s a gorgeous night for walking.

It was a gorgeous evening in downtown Cincinnati tonight and we went on longish walk.

We only walked 2.71 miles. I didn’t want Milan to get too hot. But I still wore him out.

We ♥ our walking. 🙂

Tornado warning?

A big storm blew into Cincinnati and suddenly it was looking very threatening…
1306192345710
And then it started with the rain. And that’s just what we need. More rain. :/
1306193055947
1306193097406
1306193128224
And then those damn warning sirens started going all ballistic and stuff.

We waited for what we thought was going to be an impending blitzkrieg by Ze Germans.
But the air raid never materialized and the storm never realized its full potential.

Downtown missed the worst of the storm. And Ze Germans. Up north of 275 supposedly got
the worst of it. I never heard if there were any tornado sightings anywhere in the Tri-State area.
But this storm wasn’t anywhere near as eerie as the last time those warning sirens went off.

Cincinnatus Mural.

It dawned on me as I was walked back to my office that I had never taken a photo of the
impressive Cincinnatus Mural on the side of the Brotherhood Building on Central Parkway.

And now I have.

The R stands for renovations.

I walked up Race Street into OtR to drop off some invoices for photography that I had
shot a little while back for 3CDC on Fountain Square. And there is always something
being renovated around their new offices it seems. First, there’s all the work going
on to complete revamp of Washington Park…
Washington Park

And there are all sorts of people working on buildings…
OtR
It seems like every abandoned building other than this one had a 3CDC sign on it. I think
those signs mean the building has been purchased and it set to be renovated. I took a
photo of this one because those red letters are amazing. Can I haz letters, pleeese?
Vine Street
Walking back down Vine Street in the Gateway Quarter, I saw this sign for a new taco,
tequila and whisky place called Bakersfield. Sounds kinda like the wild, wild west…
Bakersfield
All sorts of exciting stuff going on in this little area.
