We were still kind of hungry after 50 West. So we stopped into Lavomatic and shared
this incredible Bourbon BBQ Bacon burger…



Delicious, delicious stuff! And they had Old Style in cans…

As well as one of Cincinnati’s newest breweries, Mad Tree on tap…

After stuffing our faces full of burgery goodness, we went back to Rhinehaus to watch
the final of the Confederations Cup. It turned out to be an extremely one-sided match.
Who knew that in the last three meetings Brazil thumped Spain 3-0 each time? Just nutty.

We got up early this morning and decided to actually drive somewhere for lunch. After
a little head scratching, we decided it would be fun to head out to check out the new-ish
50 West Brewing Company out on the east side of Cincinnati along a stretch of US-50.













On Sunday’s, you can do a six-beer taster for $5!

Some really tasty beers! We like the Wheat Eater the best of the ones we tried. And we
ordered a couple of bites to eat off of their food pairings menu. Genifer ordered this Banh
Mi Chicken Salad Sammich…

Roasted chicken mixed with peanuts, cilantro, and green onions tossed in a sriracha aioli
served on a baguette with pickled vegetables. The bread was a bit crunchy but the chicken
salad was outstanding! And I ordered The C.A.B…

White cheddar, Granny Smith apples and house bacon with an herbed mayo. Not at all
what I expected but absolutely delicious. They also had a whole bunch of old vinyl…

And hidden in the back was a shuffle board table!

On her travels, my sister got me this South American drink mix called GuanabanaYa.

Today, I finally bit the bullet and decided to try it. And you know, it was really good!
Very tropical and tasty. I might just have to track down some more! 🙂

After lunch at Bakersfield, we went over to Rhinehaus…

And while we were there, we ran into our friends Gretchen and Martin…

Tonight, we picked up our sixth free pizza of the season thanks to last Thursday’s Reds
afternoon loss to the Pirates! We decided just to get our pizzas to-go to this evening…
Yeah, that’s right… Carry-out order for Thedd.

Genifer got just a plain cheese pizza, and I got sausage and spicy sausage…

Free pizza is delicious. 🙂

We decided to give The Spread Buffet one last shot. I met Genifer and we walked up to
the Casino for lunch. Because we thought, “There’s no way there could be any sort of
line for the buffet at lunchtime, right? Especially on a Wednesday?” Wrong…

12:45pm on a Tuesday. You gotta be flippin’ kidding me. So we went to Margaritaville.
We split their Teriyaki Chicken with coconut rice, pineapple salsa and green beans.

Delicious. We’d absolutely dish order this again to share!

Sorry Spread Buffet. You had your chance. And you disappointed us. Once. And twice.
And now three times. You’re out.

Tonight, we were going to give The Spread Buffet at Horseshoe Casino another chance.
When we there on Sunday, it was just plain underwhelming by any buffet standard. We
grabbed a couple of Reds tickets and walked to the casino. And if you thought the line
was ridiculous on Sunday, check this line out…

We heard the wait for the buffet was approximately THREE AND A HALF HOURS. That’s
just plain nuts. I was irritated on Sunday by having to wait thirty minutes. There’s no way
I would in a line like this. For anything. Ever. Especially a mediocre buffet. So we kept right
on walking to Bobby’s Burger Palace. Genifer order Bobby’s Buffalo Burger…


And I ordered their Griddle Cheese Deluxe…

And then we shard them and each had half of both sammiches. 🙂

YUM! Delicious stuff! When we were finished eating. the buffet wait still looked like this…

It’s beyond ridiculous. Some people will do anything for a free meal.

A while back a little urban vegetable garden was planted at Fido Field dog park. Despite
our lack of recent rain, the plants seem to be flourishing and producing vegetables.

I saw the Oscar Meyer Wienermobile while I was walking back to work from lunch.



How random is that? You never know what you’ll see in downtown Cincinnati. 🙂
