In my opinion, the 21c Museum Hotel is right up there on the list on things you have
to see when visiting Cincinnati. Especially the 21c Cocktail Terrace. Tonight, there was
a private party on the rooftop bar until 8:30. But at 8:31 we were sitting on the amazing
terrace without a problem. And without a care in the world. It’s really worth the wait…









And then we wandered through their galleries on the second floor…



We had to show my parents Astrid Krogh’s Lightmail, the shimmering, shifting spectrum
of color in the 21c’s nine-story interior atrium…



And it goes all the way down to the lobby…

After wandering The City Flea, we stopped into Lavomatic to grab a bite to eat for lunch…

My parent shared a turkey club. And Genifer and I split this incredible grilled cheese…

We hit the casino for a little bit. Our $20 disappeared quickly, quickly, quickly. But mom
went up almost $30 and then ended up coming out 18¢ ahead. Hey, it’s better than losing. 🙂

We made our traditional pilgrimage to It’s Just Crepes this morning for breakfast…

My parents split a Hawaiian crepe, and Genifer and I split a Mexican…

Delicious stuff! 🙂

My parents were visiting us for the weekend. And they brought some delicious Pizza King
pre-cook pizzas down with them that we cooked up in our oven. This is what’s left of the
two pizzas they brought with them. I combined them because I forgot to get a photo before
we all started digging in and devouring their pizza goodness…




YUM! The weekend is off to a great start! 🙂

At lunch time today was the 5th Annual Camp Washington Chili Coney Eating Contest
on Fountain Square. Genifer and I went to check it out and maybe have a Cheese Coney.


Last year’s winner was on-hand to try to retain his crown as Coney Eating Champion…






Also competing in this year’s contest was 2010 and 2011 winner, Joe LaRue…


Remember last year when Joe tried an attempt at the world record?





And they’re off!

AND TIME’S UP! And Joe LaRue is the new champion tying his Fountain Square coney
eating record by devouring 14 cheese coneys in 3 minutes! That’s a lot of dogs!

We’ve had a gift card to Morton’s Steakhouse for a bit now. We used part of it a while ago
but it still had a pretty decent chunk of change on it. This evening we decided take care
of that and finish it off. We headed to Morton’s and plopped down at their Bar 12:21 to take
advantage of their late night happy hour and stretch our gift card as far as possible.


Genifer got their incredible little Filet Mignon sammiches…

And I’ve wanted to try the Morton’s Prime Burger. And so I did…


It’s was so big and juicy and delicious. And the sauteed mushrooms were perfect. What a burger!

Now that was an amazing dinner! 🙂
