Tonight, we went to watch the MLS soccer match between the New England Revolution
and the Columbus Crew at Crew Stadium. It was a ridiculously easy walk from our hotel
to the stadium. It took us less than 15 minutes to be standing right in front stadium. And
we could see the stadium almost immediately after starting our walk.

I got 21 points on my Foursquare for checking in for the game…

Here’s the view from our seats…

The Hudson Street Hooligans in the Nordecke…
They stood the entire match, singing and chanting, cheering on their Crew.
It was pretty awesome!

At the half, the match was nil-nil…
We moved down to the other end of the pitch to be by the goal the Crew was attacking…

New England scored twice in time added on to win the match 2-0.

Awesome night. We’re going to have to do this again. Very soon! π

An unexpectedly fun Friday night.
We were running across downtown to pick up a six-pack of beer when we unexpectedly
ran into Gretchen and Martin. So we joined them for a drink at the 21c Cocktail Terrace
on the roof of the 21c Museum Hotel…
And our lazy Friday night became infinitely more interesting. I really love it up here.

Walking by, you wouldn’t know it’s there. Tucked down an alley…
And all the way up on the roof…
I love downtown Cincinnati. π

Celebrity Softball Classic.
I got free tickets through work for 25th Annual Celebrity Softball Classic out in Florence
at the Freedom’s Ball Park. I’m generally not a big fan of these “celebrity” sporting events
because of the extremely liberal use of the word “celebrity,” and the lack of “celebrities”
at these things. But if it’s free and I haven’t anything better to do, then why not? We went
to that “celebrity” basketball game back in February. And that was pretty fun. Plus, I’ve
never been to the Florence Freedom’s ballpark before so why not? Let’s go!

It’s a really pretty nice little ballpark…

I guess there really were “celebrities” at the game, like the Reds Shin-Soo Choo…

And there was Jeff Piecoro from Fox Sports Ohio’s Reds Live…

And then the real celebrities showed up! Reds players! Catcher Corky Miller…
First baseman Neftali Soto…
And left fielder Derrick Robinson…

Leather shorts on a steamy summer night? Why not?

DRob…

The game ended 13-6…

Really fun night! π

Free pizza #7!
Tonight, we picked up our seventh free pizza of the season thanks to last Sunday’s Reds
loss to the Seattle Mariners!

Free pizza is delicious. π

Fun.
After the Queen City Sausage Festival, we walked back across the Purple People Bridge…

To listen to Fun. bring Friday night of the Bunbury Music Festival to a close.

But first Devotchka needed to finish their set…

Pretty fun. For free. π

Queen City Sausage Festival.
While seemingly all of Cincinnati was at the music festival tonight, we walked across the
Ohio River to Newport of the Levee to check out the Queen City Sausage Festival.

iPad is not a camera…

All the festivals on the Levee are kind of the same, but still fun nonetheless. π
