Doh.
After today’s Reds loss, I guess we won’t be needing these tickets anymore…
At least, we’ll get our money refunded.

Taste of Newport on the Levee.
After Oktoberfest, we wandered through Taste of Newport on the Levee.

We didn’t eat anything. But it was fun to walk through. 🙂

Newport Oktoberfest.
After the Reds game, we walked across the Ohio River to check out the Newport Oktoberfest.
Nowhere near as grandiose as Oktoberfest Zinzinnati but that’s kind of what made it nice.
It was all housed it one rather sizable tent.

As for beer choices, you had Wiedemann’s Special Lager or Wiedemann’s Oktoberfest.

We shared a Super Bratt…
With just spicy mustard…
And some Goetta Balls…
The Super Bratt was so good, we decided to do it again…

Oktoberfests of any size are fun. 🙂

Reds baseball game #33!
It’s the final series of the regular season. The Reds trailed the Pittsburgh Pirates for
home field advantage in the NL Wild Card game by one game. And the Reds had the
final three games at Great American Ball Park against who else, the Pirates. If the Reds
swept, the Wild Card game would be played at GABP. If they took two out of three, they
would finish tied with the Pirates and then it would go on to the tie breaking procedures.
I know that the Reds and the Pirates were currently 8-8 against each other this season.
So the team with the best overall record in intradivision games would get home field
advantage. The main thing is… the Reds needed to win some games here. Or all this
typing I just did was kinda pointless.
There were a ton of people at the game. More people than we’ve seen at a Reds game in
quite a bit. I’m guessing (hoping) it’s because of the Friday Night Fireworks.
For the first time this season, we actually had to sit in our seats…
It was a very pretty night for baseball. A couple rows in front of us was this…
Weird Al Yankovic called. He’d like his hair back please.
Todd Frazier went yard…

We moved down to SRO because the people around us were a lot of annoying Pirate fans…

The Reds went on to lose 4-1. One run on six hits.

Hyatt Regency Cincinnati relaunch.
Tonight, we were invited to a VIP relaunch party for the Hyatt Regency Cincinnati. Over
the last year, they completed more than $23 million in renovations, and tonight was a
celebration to show-off a bit and re-launch as one of Cincinnati’s premier hotels.

We got to take a tour of the newly renovated Hyatt…

The gym…

The incredibly easy access to premiere shopping at Saks Fifth Avenue…

The library…

The Market…

Complete with good beers…

Red Roost Tavern…
Remember when we ate there? It was really good.

Their saltwater pool…

And with that it was back to enjoy their party…

As you can see the new Hyatt looks amazing. I don’t know what the rooms go for a night
but if you’re planning on staying in downtown Cincinnati , it’s definitely worth a look. And
this relaunch party was a blast. Thanks for inviting us Hyatt Regency Cincinnati! 🙂

JR and the INSIDE OUT Project.
A new exhibition just opened last weekend at the Contemporary Arts Center. The CAC
presents world-renowned French artist JR’s first solo museum exhibition, featuring more
than a decade of work seen in public spaces around the globe. Describing himself as
both an “urban artivist” and “photograffeur,” JR has won international acclaim for postering
arresting black & white portraits of community members upon a variety of city surfaces.
And to celebrate the opening, JR postered the facade of the CAC…

And Fountain Square got plastered with portraits courtesy of the INSIDE OUT Project…

There’s always something interesting happening in downtown Cincinnati. 🙂
