Time for the last Sunday church at GABP before the All-Star break. Reds and Pirates…
It was going to be a steamy one…
They got new beer cups at GABP…
We just had $5 cheapy seats. So instead of wandering off to find where our seats were,
we decided just to watch the game from The Gap…
Johnny Cueto…
The Big Pasta, Alfredo Simon was named to the All-Star team…

Kristopher Negron hit his first career home run as we were walking in to GABP…

Looking up Sycamore Street, it was pouring…
And then it stopped…
I still think that it’s pretty incredible that you can see our building from The Gap at GABP.
It’s that red building over on the righthand side. But then we noticed dark storm clouds
were definitely starting to roll in with vengeance…
We knew we in trouble when the grounds crew started to uncover the tarp…
And then the sky opened up…

As the rain started to let up, we noticed they had the World Cup final on the big screen…

But then the tarp went back on the field…
As the skies started to clear…

In a word, that was SO AWESOME! To be able to watch the World Cup final at GABP?
Get out of here. Awesome. The Reds would go on to win 6-3. And record 11 K’s on the
day for our fifth free pizza! We’re now 11-8 at Reds games we’ve been to this season! π

Free Fry Friday.
We went to Penn Station for lunch today because it was Free Fry Friday! And I think
Penn Station definitely has some of the best fries around!
While we were waiting to order, we noticed that Penn Station had their delicious BLT
as the special of the month…
Genifer loves the Chicken Teriyaki. But my favorite has to be the Philly Cheesesteak…
YUM! π

Livin’ in the Cin.
We were asked to participate in CincinnatiUSA.com‘s Livin’ in the Cin Insider Program.

experienced when we opened our mailbox…
We received two vouchers for the Omnimax Theatre at Cincinnati Museum Center and
four vouchers to the Cincinnati Reds just for sharing our Cincinnati adventures with CincinnatiUSA.com’s Livin’ in the Cin Insider Program. This summer just keeps getting
more and more fun! Thanks CincinnatiUSA.com! π

Reds baseball game #18.
Tonight, we went the third game of the Reds five game series with the Cubbies…

The Big Pasta, Alfredo Simon was on the mound for the Reds…

BARGE!

Billy Hamilton knocked in two with a bases-clearing triple…
He’s been on quite the tear lately! BARGE!!
The Cubs manager got tossed on a called foul ball down the third base line that apparently
he thought it was a fair ball…

Simon threw 6 2/3 innings of one run four hit ball…
Enter big Jonathan Broxton…

We only needed two more strikeouts for free pizza…
Check out this guy’s name making his MLB debut…
Ho-ly cow! Then BP got hurt trying to make a diving grab on a ground ball…
cmon, get up BP…
Whew…
But he would leave the game.
We sure do hope he’s going to be okay…
There was another play under review…

And this one actually went the Reds way…

All we need is one more K for our fourth free pizza of the season…
And look who’s coming in…

That’s 38 straight appearances with a strikeout for Chapman, just one away from the record…

Chapman would go on to strikeout the side. And this one belongs to the Reds!

Great game! And free pizza! We’re now 10-8 at the Reds games we’ve been to this season! π

The Golden Hour.
The Golden Hour. Tonight’s cast a very pretty glow across downtown…

It was another gorgeous evening in downtown Cincinnati. π

Reds baseball game #17!
We got a free voucher for two view level tickets from a new friend so we were off to the
ball park for the first game of a five game series against the Cubbies…

You can’t beat free seats…

With it looking like Joey Votto was destined for another stint on tonight’s first baseman,
Jay Bruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuce…
Congratulations to first time All-Star Devin Mesoraco…

And there he is, Jay Bruce getting his first professional start at first base…

And Mike Leake was on the hill for the Reds…
Rain was in the forecast…

Then the heavens opened up…
And everyone ran for cover…

Twenty minutes later, the ground crew was taking the tarp off the field…

BARGE!
The Cubs Starlin Castro…

And then something spectacular started to happen with the sky…

The wind was really whipping through the ball park tonight. And it got pretty chilly. So we
decided to head for home to watch the end of the game with the Reds leading 3-1…

And the Reds would go to win 9-3!
We’re now 9-8 at Reds games we’ve been to this season! π

#Sharkwall.
After briefly walking through the Newport Motorcycle Rally, we stopped to admire the
progress on another ArtWorks mural. This one is on the facade of the Newport Aquarium
and it’s called the #Sharkwall…

Outstanding! I wish the ArtWorks mural outside our offices was as wicked cool as this. π

Newport Motorcycle Rally.
After lunch at Pirate’s Cove, we came back downtown and wandered across the Purple
People Bridge over to Newport on the Levee…

The Newport Motorcycle Rally was going on and we thought we would check it out…

It was pretty much wrapping up when we got there. And we didn’t hang around very long.

Pirate’s Cove.
We went over to Pirate’s Cove at the Four Seasons Marina to watch the Reds game…

I had a BBQ bacon cheeseburger for lunch…
Not bad. Not great but not bad. But Pirate’s Cove is a great place to hang out and watch
the game, the boaters in the marina and enjoy a beautiful Sunday afternoon. π

Back to the Welcome Home celebration.
After a disappointing Reds game, we headed back over to the Welcome Home Celebration
at Sawyer Point to wait for the fireworks…

And learning my lesson from yesterday, I just took a video of the fireworks…

What a great fireworks display! And what a great end to a great day! π
