It was bitter cold Valentine’s Day. But we braved the cold and headed up into OtR…
I tried to make reservations a week and a half ago. Apparently, I needed to start sooner. Because there weren’t really a bunch of available times for restaurants downtown on OpenTable.com. We ended up choosing a 3:45pm seating at Kaze…

We’ve up to Kaze a few times and happy hour once or twice. But we’ve never eaten dinner at Kaze. Or, I guess in this case, lunch…

Kaze’s Tokio Mule…

We started with Kaze’s Pork Belly Buns…
Since we were technically at Kaze for lunch, all of their sushi was half-priced! And that’s an amazing thing! Because their sushi is incredibly delicious!

Especially Kaze’s OtR roll, simply amazing…

We can’t wait to head back up to Kaze really soon. Hopefully when it’s a little bit warmer. Or at least, when it’s not bitterly cold and freezing outside. π

Night clouds.
Check out these beautiful night clouds that were hover over downtown tonight…

You don’t normally see such bright clouds at night. π

Jukebox the Ghost.
As I said earlier, we were super excited to go see Jukebox the Ghost tonight just down the street from us at the Taft Theatre Ballroom…

Great show. Great night! π

Seven at Broadway.
Tonight, we got to take a sneak-peek at the latest downtown Cincinnati luxury apartment building, Seven at Broadway. We’ve been watching this place slowly take shape over the last few months. And now all the hard work has come to fruition…

Up to the ninth floor…

With those amazing views of downtown and Mount Adams, we can’t imagine that any one of these amazing apartments are going to be on the market for very long. To check out all the different floor plans and pricing, visit SevenAtBroadway.com. π

It feels like Spring.
It was beautiful today. Sunny. Temperatures in the 50s. Beautiful. We wanted to spend some time outside and enjoy this tremendous day. So we took those dogs on a long walk along the Ohio River through Yeatman’s Cove and Sawyer Point…

What a gorgeous day. π

A winter flurry.
When came out of the Cyclones game this evening, it was snowing. It wasn’t exactly the snopocalypse that has been pounding the northeast. Not anywhere close. But still, it was some snow. We haven’t had even a dusting of snow since the very beginning of January, and the only real snow to speak of this winter came back in the middle of November…

And when we woke up in the morning, there was hardly a trace of snow.

Mad Mike’s Burgers & Fries.
We’ve found ourselves across the river in Newport quite a bit over the last couple weeks. And that was the case again tonight. On our way back home from running an errand in Newport, we stopped in to check out Mad Mike’s Burger & Fries and get a bite to eat…

Surprisingly, there weren’t a lot of people out at 8pm on a Tuesday night in Newport. And we had the whole place to ourselves…

I ordered the Big Tex…
Genifer ordered the American Outlaw…
And we got a large basket of fries…
The burgers were massive and delicious! Throw in two sodas and our bill was just $22. You really can’t beat that. We saw on Urbanspoon that someone just like, “For a better burger, go to Five Guys.” We thought Mad Mike’s burgers were hands down better than Five Guys. Hands. Down. But that’s just us.
Next time we find ourselves at Mad Mike’s, I’m ordering the Goliath Burger… A burger with American cheese, BBQ, bacon, grilled onions, lettuce, tomato between 2 Toasted Cheese sammiches that are used as the buns. That sounds like something I definitely need to try!
We’ll see you again soon Mad Mike’s! π
