Tonight was the opening night of The Lion King at the Aronoff Center for the Arts…

And we had tickets!


We had some pretty amazing seats for the show…


Great performance. It’s my second most favorite Broadway show after Jersey Boys. Afterwards, we stopped into the Horse & Barrel for a post-show drink…

Fun night. 🙂

It’s OPENING DAY for another season of Reds baseball! And we’ll be there!

It seemed like everyone in Cincinnati was queuing up to get into the new kid on the block over across the river in Covington, Braxton Brewing Co.. We’re not a fan of ridiculously crowded places, and definitely don’t do well with waiting in lines. So while everyone else was packing themselves in like sardines, we stopped into Moerlein Lager House to have some sours. We been really getting into sour beers lately. Hopefully, sours will be the next IPAs. We started with the incredible Duchess de Bourgogne on tap…

And then we had the Echt Kriekenbier, cherry beer…

Awesome sours. Braxton’s just gonna have to wait until the hype dies down a bit. 🙂

In eager anticipation of the upcoming season of Reds baseball that is quickly closing in on us, we decided to visit the much lauded Reds Hall of Fame. We also had a tickets given to us by Cincinnati USA Regional Tourism that were about to expire and we didn’t want them to go to waste…

We got to see the new Hall of Fame exhibit, “The Kings of the Queen City.”





The Reds Hall of Fame of does an incredible job of telling the rich history of the Reds. Such near stuff! Click to see all the photos I took during our visit to the Reds Hall of Fame.

Tonight, we took in our 18th Cyclones hockey game of the season at US Bank Arena…





It was Pups&Pucks night at US Bank Arena. And there were dogs everywhere…






At the end of the second, the ‘Clones were still up by a goal…


And then it was 3-1 Cyclones…



3-2…

This was beginning to sounds strangely familiar.


When the score became knotted at three, I felt like we just saw this game…








And at the end of regulation, it was still all knotted at three. Again. Just like Wednesday night when the Cyclones gave up a two goal lead in the third and would eventually lose in a shoot-out. THis felt like the exact same third period.

But we didn’t stick around tonight.

And just like Wednesday, the ‘Clones lost in overtime 4-3.

After work this evening, we cracked open the one Sonoran WHT CHCLT that we brought back with us from our trip to Phoenix for Spring Training…

It seems like as good of time as ever. Who would have thought that a white chocolate beer might be one of the best beers I’ve ever tasted? Taken with Instagram. 🙂

So it’s been a minute since I’ve had a grilled cheese from Tom+Chee. I’m not really sure why. It’s just been a minute. Today was so rainy and gray outside that a grilled cheese sounded like the perfect lunch. I headed up to Court Street to get some of their cheesy goodness only to find Tom+Chee had a whole new shop just across the alley from their original, old location. A much bigger, swankier new home…





I got my most very favoritest Tom+Chee sammich, the BBQ Bacon on a donut. I also picked up a regular, yet amazing grilled chee sammich for a snack later. All I’m saying is that a grilled chee from Tom+Chee is like a ray of sunshine on this gloomy, rainy day…

And I’m really digging their new to-go boxes. It’s always amazing to seem some local folks doing some really great things! 🙂

It feels like it’s been forever since we’ve been to our last Cyclones hockey game. But the ‘Clones were finally back in town and we’re back for hockey at US Bank Arena…

Extra. Hockey. Seriously?

And after the five minute overtime, we were on to shoot-outs…





And somehow the Cyclones managed to snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory…
