Flipdaddy’s Burgers & Beers. We’ve been up to the location in Symmes Township a couple of times. And just recently, they opened a location across the river at Newport Pavilion in Newport, Kentucky. Whenever we drove by on the way to the grocery, it’s always been packed. Today, I had my summer hours (half-day every other Friday), and it was raining so we drove over to Newport to finally check it out…

Genifer ordered The French Connection with Boursin cheese, aioli and thinly sliced, deep fried red onion straws…
And I had the burger of the month, the Alex Quebec topped with french fries, beef gravy, cheddar cheese and house-made onion jam…
We’ll definitely be back to Flipdaddy’s in Newport for more of their delicious burgers. π

Reds game 18/40.
Reds game #18 of the season at GABP. Reds versus the Detroit Tigers. It was going to be a pitching duel for the ages. Johnny Cueto versus David Price.
Right from the start the sky did not look very promising…

Johnny Beisbol…
David Price…

There’s a new party deck above the Reds bullpen…
The Tiger’s Miguel Cabrera…

He’d hit a three-run blast in the sixth. Speaking of going yard, Todd Frazier left the ball park with a solo shot in the fourth!

A hour and fourteen minutes later…

We left after the tenth. Jay Bruce notched his first five-hit and Brayan Pena had four hits as well. The game ended in the 13th inning with a Todd Frazier walk-off grand slam, his second two-homer game in as many nights, sending the Reds to an 8-4 win. And… the Reds pitchers combined for 13 strikeouts so free LaRosa’s pizza for us! Click to see all the photos I took at Reds game 18/40. π

Park after Dark.
Tonight, we ventured out of downtown once again to head over to Belterra Park Gaming & Entertainment Center out on the east side of Cincinnati. We heard that on Saturdays Belterra was throwing a trackside party called Park after Dark with live music. So we thought we’d go check it out…

And that this week’s musical guest was our favorite reggae band, The Ark Band…

Pretty fun evening with lotsa great reggae just kicking it trackside. We’ll have to head back out to Belterra to take in some horse racing sometime really soon! π

Locks of the Purple People Bridge.
On our way back home from Newport Italian Fest, we made our way back across the Purple People Bridge…
And we couldn’t help but notice all the locks people have placed on the bridge over the years as a symbol of undying love…

Festa Italiana 2015.
This afternoon we walked across the Purple People Bridge…
To check out the 24th annual Newport Italian Fest over at Newport on the Levee…

We we thought about getting some Crabby Lobster Pasta & Cheese…
And some deep fried Oreos…
But we just wandered around and checked it all out for a bit…

Midpoint Indie Friday.
After the USWNT’s disappointing performance in the match against Sweden, we went over to Fountain Square to check out the Midpoint Indie Summer Series on Fountain Square. It started raining as soon as we got over to the Square. I completely forgot to snap some photos. But I did get this photo of my sunglasses after we got home…
Rain or shine, the Friday night music on the Square is always fun. π

The Camp Washington Chili Coney Challenge!
The seventh annual Camp Washington Chili Coney Challenge on Fountain Square…

This year’s winner, Shannon Smith of Cheviot inhaled 13 cheese coneys in just three minutes. The record is still 14 dogs in three minutes. Ugh. Indigestion. At my best, I can only four cheese coneys. π

Domino’s.
We ordered some delicious Domino’s for dinner this evening…
We ordered a medium two-topping pie, cheesy bread and buffalo specialty chicken all for under $20.

It was really delicious stuff especially considering how cheap it all was. Great stuff. π
