Our boy Johnny Cueto made good on his guarantee, and looked like the ace he is this evening. Johnny Beisbol was dominant retiring 19 straight Astros while throwing just 91 total pitches over eight innings, and propelling the Royals back to the ALCS…
Congratulations to Johnny Cueto and the Kansas City Royals! I’d really love to see a Cubs-Royals World Series! Now that would be fun. Taken with Instagram. π

Mount St. Joseph University women’s soccer.
Tonight, we went to watch our friend Cathy’s niece, Taylor play soccer for Mount St. Joseph University over on westside of Cincinnati…

They have a pretty nice facility for just a little school. Taylor is number 13…

At halftime, it was nil-nil.

And at the end of regulation, it was still nil-nil…
Onto ten minute sudden-death overtime…
Mount St. Joseph ended up losing five minutes into a second sudden-death overtime…
It was really fun to get out and watch some soccer. We’ll have to try to make it out to a few more games. π

#FlyTheW!
The Cubs knocked off the Cardinals tonight to advance to the NLCS! #FlyTheW!

These photos are from back in 2007 when the Cubs clinched the NL Central at GABP. Growing up a huge Cubs fan up in Michigan, they will always have a really special place in my heart. I think it’s really cool that we got to see these Cubbies play our Reds a bunch of times at GABP this season…

And I’m thrilled that we got see them play at their gorgeous Sloan Park Spring Training facility out in Mesa, Arizona back in the Spring…

#GoCubsGo! #GoCubsGo! Click to see all the photos I’ve taken of the Chicago Cubs. π

U-S-Ugh.

That was one of the most painfully soccer matches I’ve ever watched in my entire life.

Nation.
We went to Nation to celebrate Michigan football’s official return to prominence…

The best way to celebrate anything is with a burger from Nation…
And of course, the obligatory grilled cheese…
You just can’t beat Nation. π

Gourd to Death.
After The City Flea, we stopped into Taft’s Ale House to watch a bit of the Michigan vs. Northwestern game (WOW. Just WOW! #GoBLUE!), and have a beer. We were going to get another Nellie’s Key Lime Caribbean Ale until we tried Taft’s Gourd to Death harvest brown. Again, wow! Just wow.
And this is just plain wrong, look at all that deliciousness that went to waste…
It’s just wrong. π¦ But their Gourd to Death couldn’t get it more right. π

The City Flea, October edition.
We walked up to Washington Park to check out the October edition of The City Flea…

And it was one of those super-congested City Flea’s round the rotunda because they were trying to give the event lawn at Washington Park a much needed break…

The beleaguered grass on the event lawn of Washington Park…
Poor grass. It must have seemed like an incredibly long summer with all the events that Washington Park hosted.

After wandering around The City Flea for a bit, we stopped to have a beer on The Deck at Washington Park…
We got a couple of cans of Nellie’s Key Lime Caribbean Ale from Taft’s Ale House…

Hanging out at The City Flea is always fun especially when you get to relax on The Deck at Washington Park. The perfect autumn Saturday. Lots of fun. π

2015 Reds Promotional Package, part two.
We received the second part of our 2015 Reds Promotional Package in the mail today!

We got two more bobbleheads, 2 little statues, a Reds 1990 commemorative stein and a “Get Your ‘Stache On” Reds t-shirt. Woot!

Pretty cool stuff. It was really nice not to have to hustle down to the ballpark on Saturday’s and fight the crowds to get all these fun Reds promotional items. Definitely worth it to get two big boxes of Reds stuff delivered to our front door! π

Our final #Ks4LaRosa’s pizza of 2015.
We redeemed our EIGHTH and final #Ks4LaRosas free pizza of the 2015 Reds season…

LaRosaβs gave away pizza after 21 Reds games this year! If my calculation are correct (ugh, math), I think we’ve been to just over 40 games where the Reds have struck out 11 or more batters over the last four seasons of this promotion. That’s over 80 delicious LaRosa’s pizzas we’ve received… for FREE! We certainly hope they continue #Ks4LaRosas next season! π

Hockey’s almost back!
Tonight, there was a preseason hockey game at US Bank Arena between our Cyclones and the Wheeling Nailers. Tickets were just $5 for tonight’s game. So why not head down to the game? Hockey’s back, baby!

While we were at US Bank Arena, we picked up tickets for the First Face-Off when the puck official drops for a new exciting season of Cincinnati Cyclones hockey!

The Cyclones won 6-1! Hopefully, this is a good sign for the upcoming season!

Cyclones hockey games are always fun! π
