This afternoon we walked back up to Horseshoe Casino to check out this weekend’s big event, The Porkopolis Pig & Whiskey Festival…




There were 40+ varieties of whiskey, bourbon and scotch available to sample…


We started in with a couple of Jack Honey and ginger ale…





Pig & Whiskey also showcased six of Cincinnati’s best barbecue restaurants highlighting unique, delicious pork and beef barbecue dishes.





We started with some delicious Huit BBQ…

And then it was time for our main event, Velvet Smoke BBQ…


We got their sampler with brisket, burnt ends and cole slaw…

And a couple of Velvet Smoke rib bones…

The burnt ends were the highlight for the day for me. So tender and delicious. YUM!




Olde Smoky gave Genifer a free trucker cap…

And the DirecTV Blimp made a surprise appearance!

Just our fourth free LaRosa’s pizza of this Reds season thanks to #Ks4LaRosa’s. 29 Reds games so far this season and just 4 free pizzas. Last season, we went to 35 games total and had 13 free pizzas.




Nonetheless, free pizza tastes delicious! Thanks LaRosa’s! 🙂

We were wiped out from our big fun weekend in Columbus. So we gave the brand new Cincinnati food delivery site, OrderUp. There are a bunch of different restaurants around Cincinnati to order from. We were in the mood for some yummy Mexican food ordered some food from Los Potrillos in Clifton…


Genifer got Super Quesadilla…

And it came with free chips and salsa. I got a ground beef quesadilla…

And the Spicy Burrtio…

It was really good stuff. Genifer’s stuff was awesome. My ground beef quesadilla was on point. But the chicken in my Spicy Burrito was a bit dry and chewy. And it got a little soggy in transit. But still very tasty. Order Up was surprisingly reasonable to have food delivered. Just a $3.99 delivery fee and delivery tip. It was really no more expensive than going out and getting lunch. I can see using Order Up a lot in the future! 🙂

The Comfort Suites at the Ohio Fairgrounds is the best hotel for Columbus Crew games!

Best hotel. Hands down. We’ll see you again soon! 🙂

We drove up to Columbus for tonight’s Crew versus Toronto FC MLS match…



USMNT striker Jozy Alitdore was in Toronto’s starting 11…


The Crew’s Kei Kamara opened the scoring and celebrated right in front of us…



The match ended 3-3…

The Crew took a 3-0 lead but let Toronto storm back to knot the match at three all. The sixth and final goal was a penalty converted by Jozy Altidore. And five of the six goals scored were put in the back of the net right in front of us!





No trip to Columbus is complete without an order of delicious, delicious Pepperoni Rolls from The Pizza Joint…

Perfect end to a pretty awesome day. The Crew games are always a bunch of fun. 🙂

My summer hours and Cincinnati Burger Week. That’s a match made in heaven. So we walked up to Nation to check out their $5 Quesadilla Burger for a late lunch…


Awesome burger. And we got a grilled cheeses. I love Nation’s grilled cheeses…

I wish every week was Burger Week. 🙂

Our friends Cory and Amy ended up stumbling into some tickets through friends of friends, and next thing you know we’re going to see Weezer at The Shoe at Horseshoe Casino…
