We saw this sign for Horseshoe’s Hometown Market…
Apparently, it’s their second annual farmer’s market. We wondered when was the first? Anyway, entertainment, food, cooking demonstrations. Support local businesses while learning how you can be more green. Maybe, we’ll check it out. π

Reds game 32/40.
Reds game 32/40. Reds versus the Whiny Birds…

Bases loaded with Reds…
Brayan Pena doubled down the third base line…
2-0 Reds! BARGE!
And bases loaded again for the Reds…

It would have been a great time for Jay Bruuuuuce’s 200th home run as a Red…

And no such luck.
BARGE!!
The Cards’ Randal Grichuk missed a game-tying home run by mere inches in the sixth…

It was ruled a ground rule double. BARGE!!!

It was all tied at three going into the ninth…

Chappie struck out the side. Onto the bottom of the ninth, Votto time…

No late inning heroics from Joey Votto or any of the other Reds this time around…
After the tenth, we were getting dangerously close to free pizza…
And there we go…

We left in the middle 11th. Grichuk left no doubt with a blast in the 13th-inning, one that lifted the Cardinals to a 4-3 win over the Reds. The 370-foot home run gave St. Louis its first lead of the night and their 14th final-at-bat win of the season. Friggin’ Whiny Birds. Click to see all the photos I took at Reds game 32/40.

Yikes.
Guys across Eighth Street were putting up scaffolding. And it was kinda freaking me out…

Ugh. I would not want that job. I’m not good with heights. At all.

An evening treat.
This evening we ventured back out to Wilder, Kentucky to get a sweet treat from DQ…
But the real treat was driving back to Cincinnati. The al the shades of blue in the sky contrasting with the oranges and reds of the setting sun and streetlights reflecting off the pavement made it very picturesque…

#WhatTheBrick.
Yesterday, I heard that giant Lego blocks with the hashtag #WhatTheBrick have begun mysteriously popping up all around Cincinnati. When I was at Strauss Troy Market on Fountain Square, I stumbled across this big green brick…

And then I spotted this black brick in the lobby of the Contemporary Arts Center…

I wonder what it all means? π

It was a pretty lazy Sunday.
We were all really lazy and just laid around this afternoon…

Oscar was probably all worn out after racing around with his jelly sammich last night…

Smashburger.
Today. we ventured into northern Kentucky to give Smashburger in Highland Heights a try…

Genifer tried the Spinach & Goat Cheese Smashburger with cucumbers, spinach, goat cheese, tomato, onion and balsamic vinaigrette on a multi-grain bun…

I ordered specialty Buckeye Smashburger with fried pepper rings, American cheese, haystack onions, lettuce, tomato and mayo on an egg bun…

And we shared an order of fried pickles…
Everything was really delicious. The burgers were just the right size for us, cooked to perfection and not at all greasy. The Smashfries were fresh, hot and crispy. The fried pickles were crunchy and delicious once they finally cooled off a bit. It was a great, very reasonable lunch. Throw in two fountain drinks and our bill was just over $20. You can’t beat that. At all. We’ll definitely be back for more Smashburgers very soon! π

Say hello to our little friend.
Say hello to our new Devin Mesoraco bobblehead we found at last night’s Reds game…
Welcome home, Mesorocket. π

Reds game 31/40.
Reds game 31/40. Reds versus Pirates. And it was Devin Mesoraco bobblehead night….
We didn’t get down to the ballpark soon enough to score Mesorockethead. But we did move some tickets around so we can go up to Michigan in September…

BARGE?

Bases loaded for the Reds…
Eugenio Saurez knocked in three of the Red’s four runs with two sacrifice files and a RBI double. Jay Bruce added a RBI double to back Raisel Iglesias’ 6 2/3 innings. Jung Ho Kang went deep in the fourth for the Bucs. With the Reds leading 4-2 going into the ninth, you know what’s going to happen…

I’m so happy the MLB trade deadline has come and gone, and we still get to witness Aroldis Chapman electrifying GABP and closing out games for the Reds.

The Pirates provided some anxious moments, managing to cut the lead to one and then load the bases with two outs…
And then the Cuban Missle struck out Starling Marte swinging…
And this one belongs to the Reds, 4-3! Phewwww!

I love seeing sad Pirates fans…

And we ended up finding two Devin Mesoraco bobbleheads!
