It was our tenth Cyclones hockey game of the season at US Bank Arena! Let’s go…

At the end of the first, it was still knotted at zero…

As always, there were some beer pyramids…

The ‘Clones netted two quick goals in the second…

3-0!

4-0!

WALKING DEAD NIGHT is coming! We gotta dress up for that!

The Cyclones have rattled off three wins in the last three games we’ve been to! We love really our Cyclones hockey! π

Red Roost Tavern.
After wandering around the Cavalcade of Customs, we stopped back into Red Roost Tavern in the downtown Hyatt Regency for a bite to eat…
They had a new winter menu. We started with some amazing wings…
And a delicious kale and carrot salad…
Then we shared this incredible chicken club sammich…
We topped it all off with this delightful apple crumb cheesecake…
Delicious stuff! π

Cavalcade of Customs.
This afternoon we walked over to check out the KOI Cavalcade of Customs at Duke Energy Center. We’re not gearheads by any stretch of the imagination. At all. But I’ve never been to a Cavalcade before. And there’s no better time than the present to remedy that. And there are probably going to be a bunch of cool cars…
Whoa. Yeah. That’s a lot of cars…

I love these old skool rat rods…

Genifer loved the powder blue…

I don’t know how you would see around this cars engine…

And the cars continued upstairs…

My favorite car was this pimped out 2004 VW Jetta…

Genifer liked this powder blue car too…

The cars of Fast & Furious…

There were a bunch of really amazing cars at the Cavalcade, and it was a lot of fun to wander all over the Duke Energy Center and check them all out! The customs just kept going and going and going.

Horse & Barrel Bourbon House.
After work, we stopped in to check out the new Kentucky-style bourbon bar right next to Nicholson’s on Walnut Street called Horse & Barrel Bourbon House. In fact, It’s owned by the same group that owns Nicholson’s. Horse & Barrel offers around 80 varieties of bourbon whiskey. We don’t really know much at all about bourbon. Maybe it’s about time to learn something new…
The space is pretty teeny tiny but very cozy…

But we found a table pretty quickly…

Great drinks!

Looks kinda like Milan in that painting. We ordered the Smoke & Spice for a little snack…
Genifer really enjoyed the corn guacamole. But to me, that spicy cheese spread was definitely where it was at! I looove my cheese spreads.
Bourbon not your thing? Horse & Barrel also has a pretty nice beer selection…

Pretty neat little place. I see us learning more about bourbon in the near future. π

Spare Lounge.
There’s bowling in downtown Cincinnati, what?! Yep. You heard right. There’s four lanes of bowling now in downtown Cincinnati! And tonight, we braved the bitter cold, walked a couple blocks down Seventh Street to check out the brand new Spare Lounge…

We had a best of seven game series that was tied at two all dating back to when we were in Boston at the end of October for Cleve and Alyssa’s wedding. Now it was finally time to settle the score. LET’S DO THIS!!!!
Genifer took the first game, and led the whole way after opening up with a big strike…
Then something happened to our lane. And we had to move over one lane…
And then it was on…

I took game six…
It came down to the all important third (seventh) game for all marbles…

Yep. It’s now a best out for eleven. π
One cool feature on Spare Lounge is up on the balcony overlooking the lanes…
The floor is plexiglass which allows you to see down onto the lanes from above…

Another cool feature is back by the bathrooms. And it’s a window that allows you to see into the inner workings of the pinsetter…

It’s pretty cool to watch how all that machinery works. But please leave your shoes…
It’s pretty awesome to have a bowling alley just down the street from us. I know we’ll be back very soon to try to wrap up our best of eleven game series. π

How ’bout them boys?!

Down 14-0, the Cowboys battled back to beat the Lions, 24-20. Geez. That. Was. Really. Stressful. But that game though. Just awesome! With that, Genifer’s Cowboys keep marching on! They’ll travel to Green Bay to take on the Packers next Sunday.
Green Bay is 8-0 at home this year.
Dallas is 8-0 on the road this year.
GAME ON!!

We’re ready for some football!
We ordered a small pizza from Jet’s Pizza for the Cowboys-Lions playoff game…
We got Jet’s Bread too. Don’t forget about the Jet’s Bread…
Delicious, delicious stuff. We really like Jet’s Pizza! π
