This afternoon we walked down to Smale Riverfront Park in The Banks to listen to some
Ooh La La and the Greasers oldies and enjoy this beautiful Saturday afternoon…

Just like Fountain Square or Washington Park or Sawyer Point, Smale Riverfront Park
has a bunch of events planned for this summer.

After listening to the band for a while, hanging out in the park and soaking up some sun,
we went inside Moerlein Lager House for a Moerlein Jean Ro 20th Anniversary Hefeweizen,
celebrating famed Cincinnati Chef Jean-Robert de Cavel‘s 20th anniversary in Cincinnati.

Great beer! Genifer had the BBQ chicken flatbread for lunch…
And I had the BBQ burger…
Delicious stuff. As always. π Aferwards, we watched the USMNT World Cup warm-up
friendly match against Nigeria, and then just had pretty relaxing Saturday evening. π
Just a Smale Saturday.

Cyclones hockey game #18: Kelly Cup finals edition.
Tonight was game four of the ECHL Kelly Cup finals between our Cincinnati Cyclones
and the Alaska Aces. The first three games of the series were in Anchorage. The Aces
took two of the first three games. So the Cyclones had their work cut out for them to get
the series level at two each…

GOAL! Cyclones!

There was a decent crowd…

But nothing like the Kelly Cup finals at US Bank Arena 2010. Not even close.

Tonight was the first time we’ve ever seen Twister fall over while trying to slide down the
ice on his head…
But he tried it again, and got it right the second time…

GOAL! 2-0 Cyclones!

3-1 Cyclones!

Great game. Great win. Hopefully, the Cyclones can do it again tomorrow, and close out
the finals on Monday night skating around US Bank Arena with the Kelly Cup held high
above their heads! That would be awesome. Fingers crossed. π

Foreigner at the Shoe.
After our Taste of Margaritaville, we got to catch the very last little portion of Foreigner’s
set outdoors at Horseshoe Casino.

Pretty cool. π

A Taste of Margaritaville.
To kick off the summer season, Margaritaville at the Horseshoe Casino has launched a
refreshed menu boasting more than 15 new drinks and dishes. Tonight, we were invited
to enjoy a night of Key West-inspired cuisine, drinks and good laughs!
We didn’t realize that tonight at Horseshoe Casino was a Foreigner/Styx concert…

The menu for tonight’s festivities…
It sounds like it’s going to be a ton of food…

Wait a second…
I think we found Jimmy Buffet’s lost shaker of salt…
The first course…
White cheddar cheese curds…

They were a touch chewy but pretty dang tasty especially when dipping in the sauces.
And then we moved on to the grilled shrimp skewers…

The spicy saucy on the shrimp was just awesome. They were pretty dang delicious.
And then the second wave of appetizers started to arrive. Delicious Key West quesadillas
with very tender and juicy Carne Asda steak…

A very tasty Asiago crab dip…

“Drunken” shrimp skillet with tequila Key Lime garlic butter…

Our to-go boxes were starting to fill up fast…
For our entrees, Genifer ordered the grilled chicken sammich…

And I ordered the Volcano burger topped with volcano chili, lava cheese sauce, jalapeΓ±os,
guacamole and finally topped with Fritos corn chips…

It was super tasty. If only I wasn’t already stuffed.

Soooo. Much. Food…

While we were waiting for whatever would woo be sitting on that lazy Susan, the lead
singer of Foreigner decided to climb up the scaffolding surrounding the stage…

And then the Chocolate Hurricane showed up…
Drizzled with chocolate and caramel sauces as it spun on the lazy Susan…

And there was an incredible Key Lime Cheesecake…

We’re not huge dessert people, but we did some damage to the Chocolate Hurricane…

We also walked away with a gift bag filled with a Margaritaville t-shirt, a pair of Landshark
flip-flops, an authentic Margaritaville menu and boat drink menu, a Margaritaville jump drive
and two Margaritaville tumblers! How about all that?
It was a pretty spectactular evening with enough delicious food to feed a small country.
Thanks to Margaritaville and Rockaway PR for inviting us out! π

Reds baseball game #11!
The storm clouds blew over, it turned out to be a beautiful night for baseball…

BARGE!

Tony Cingrani was on the hill for the Reds…
The panda bear…

Look at the shift they put on for Jay Bruce…
Tony Cingrani exits the ballgame…

Manny Parra…

So close to another free pizza…

After the game, we wandered over to the Fox Sports Ohio condominium to see Jim Day…

And Jim Day photobombed us…
Not once but twice…
And that makes the Reds loss somehow all better. We’re still 6-5 this season. π

Aroldis Chapman bobblehead night.
It was Aroldis Chapman bobblehead night at GABP. We hustled down to the ballpark
after work to try to get our Chappie bobblehead…

Look at all those Cuban Missles…
We got our Chappies!

They still had a ton of Chappies left…

Look at this cool dude…

And now we’re Chappie! π

Consumerism.
We saw some cool stuff out and about running errands this evening. Like this wall art…
And this one too…
And this funny pillow monster…
And this cool lamp for a kids room…
Or my office at work. There’s some pretty cool stuff out there. π
