We briefly tinkered with the notion of going down to the Buckle Up Festival taking place
at Sawyer Point along the Ohio River this afternoon…

But we decided just to have a nice, lazy Sunday instead. Maybe next year. π

30,000!
On our drive home from Columbus, my 2008 VW Jetta GLI finally broke 30,000 miles…

You gotta love living and working downtown where your car can just sit in the garage
without having to go through all the wear and tear of a daily commute. π
And I really should have dusted better before I took these photos.

Columbus Crew versus Montreal Impact.
Today, we drove up to Columbus to see the Crew to take on the Montreal Impact…
It was a really fantastic night. And the Crew would go on to win the match 2-1!
You can see all the photos I took on our trip to Columbus by clicking right here. π

Incline Public House.
Throughout the summer, I get every other Friday afternoon off work thanks to Deskey’s
awesome summer hours program. For today’s summer hours, we planned on going up
to Incline Public House in Price Hill and have lunch on their patio that provides the most
spectacular view overlooking downtown Cincinnati. Well, what do they say about best-laid
plans? Because as soon as we got parked at IPH, it started to sprinkle. Just enough to
make you not want to sit outside on a patio. We had lunch anyway. Genifer had this
Smoked Prime Rib Dip…
Delicious but hard to eat because it was extremely messy. Literally a sammich you could
not set down. And I had the delightful Short Rib Grilled Cheese again…
Here’s that incredible view of downtown Cincinnati…
Next time, we’ll take a look at the weather before heading out to eat on the patio. π

Summer Luau at Sycamore Place at St. Xavier Park.
The last concrete pour for Seven at Broadway was late last night…

To celebrate our building, Sycamore Place at St. Xavier Park had a summer luau tonight…

What a fun way to spend a Thursday evening. We love where we live. π

The Mexican Food Embassy.
We found ourselves out by Crestview Hills, Kentucky this evening. And decided to stop
in to Abuelo’s Mexican Food Embassy for dinner…

They give you three different salsas for starters. The green one was amazing…
We started with Spinach Stuffed Mushrooms and JalapeΓ±o Cheese Fritters…
The delicious, giant stuffed mushrooms…
And the little spicy, cheesy balls of goodness…
Genifer ordered a couple of enchiladas…
With rice and beans…
And I, as always, ordered the ground beef chimichanga…

With Abuelo’s Mexican potatoes and beans…
Everything was delicious. It was a bit pricey for Mexican food compared to our favorite
Mexican spot, El Rio Grande but everything was still delicious nonetheless. π

Home Run Derby.
Tonight, we watched Reds third baseman Todd Frazier compete in the Home Run Derby…

He went on the compete in the finals! All hail the National League’s new home run king,
Todd Frazier! We couldn’t be more proud of our slugger! And all of our Reds All-Stars. π

IAFF Local 48 Welcome Reception.
After the World Cup final, we were planning on walking across the river to check out the
Queen City Sausage Fest. But instead we stumbled across the International Association
of Fire Fighters Local 48 Welcome Reception for the 52nd IAFF Convention on Freedom
Way down in The Banks…

What a fun end to Sunday. π

The World Cup final.
The Reds game resumed play after a 56 minute rain delay right as the second half of
the World Cup final was about to kick-off. So we ducked across the street to Crave to
get a bite to eat and watch the second half of the World Cup final between Germany and
Argentina. Genifer started with a seaweed salad…
And followed with their delicious Kobe beef tacos…
I got the western burger. I love my burgers…
As it turns out, we could have stayed to watch the end of the Reds-Pirates game before
Germany scored the only goal of the final in extra time to beat Argentina 1-0. Hindsight
is a funny thing, or not so funny thing sometimes…

Germany was definitely the best team in the entire tournament. And all I have to say at
the end of the World Cup is this… Germany 7 Brazil 1 and Germany 1 #USMNT 0. USA!
#IBelieve! It was another great World Cup. π
I really respect Argentina’s Lionel Messi. But did you see the many faces of sad Messi
after the match. You gotta feel for him. But it’s still kinda funny. π
