This evening we headed down to Sawyer Point along the Ohio River to check out an event
we’ve been talking about going to for the last two summers, and that’s the Cincy Blues Fest…
The kids representing the Blues in the Schools program were very impressive…
And they drew quite the crowd…
The highlight of our Blue Fest was getting to hear Dayton’s very own Noah Wotherspoon…
Great night of fantastic music! We should have checked out Cincy Blues Fest along time ago.:)

Packhouse Meats.
We had were looking for something different for lunch today. We had to run some errands
over in Northern Kentucky. We wandered back and forth around Newport’s Monmouth Street
until we stumbled upon Packhouse Meats. We had both heard of the place. But didn’t know
much about it. What the heck, right? We’re here. Let’s check it out…
Their menus are pretty unique. You mark right on the menu with a wax pencil to order…
Packhouse does is meatballs or as they call them packs. Choose your meatball meat,
choose your sauce and choose how you want those pack delivered to you… In a bowl,
on a salad, as a hero sammich, as a slider etc. We decided to order up a bunch of sliders.
We started with a couple of house side salads…
And then our sliders showed up…
We ordered too much food again. But it was the only way we could check out a lot of the
different options. Genifer really liked chicken meatball in buffalo sauce and the Quinoa
& vegetable pack with parmesan sauce. I really enjoyed the pork meatball with a hearty
brown hunter sauce and the chicken meatball in a Marsala sauce. And we both agreed
that the daily special, a beef sesame meatball in a soy sauce was pretty incredible too.
Really all of them were really pretty outstanding. And when our check came, there wasn’t
a place for a tip. Now that graphic on the floor made sense when we first walked in…
So we left them a drawling of Oscar…
We can’t wait to head back to Packhouse to try some more of their many options. I’m really
looking forward to trying a bowl with beef meatballs covered in that delicious hunter sauce
over mashed potatoes. YUM! My mouth is watering just thinking about it. 🙂
