Rooster’s at Queen City Square.

Today, I got my hair cut at Roosters Men’s Grooming Center at Queen City Square

It was a nice place. I got a Rooster’s Club Cut with shampoo massage and hot-towel treatment from Ray. The haircut was a little on the pricey side but no more so than getting your haircut at any other place downtown. And she did a really great job with my hair. If you find yourself in need of a trim or a shave, you should check out Rooster’s at Queen City Square. 🙂 Photo of my hair coming soon.

Cyclones hockey game #10.

Tonight, we went to our 10th Cyclones hockey game of the season at US Bank Arena. The Cyclones were playing host to the Wheeling Nailers this evening…

And tonight, we actually made it to US Bank Arena in time to hear the national anthem. That rarely happens…

LET’S PLAY HOCKEY!

The Nailers were on the board first…

It started to get pretty chippy out there…

At the end of the first period, the Nailer led 1-0…

The Nailers took at 2-0 led but the Cyclones pulled one back to make it 2-1…

At the start of the third, it was still 2-1…

But the Cyclones couldn’t pull this one out, and the game ended 3-1…

Oh well. Win or lose, Cyclones hockey games are always fun. Hopefully, they can do better when we go the game next Wednesday. 🙂

Good morning.

Good morning from downtown Cincinnati…

It’s supposed to reach a high of 59Âş today. Not too shabby for the February 3rd…

🙂

A stormy evening.

It was a stormy evening in downtown Cincinnati. We managed to dodge the raindrops just long enough to get in our evening dog walk…

After we got home, it pretty much poured for the rest of the evening. 🙂

Happy birthday, mom!

Today is my mom’s birthday! Happy birthday, mom!

We love you and hope you have a wonderful day! 🙂

Happy Groundhog Day!

The furry forecaster Punxsutawney Phil failed to see his shadow, and that means he’s predicting an early spring…

But my question is… have we really even had a winter yet? Because it’s February 2nd, and it’s supposed to be 60Âş in Cincinnati today. And that has me all…

This is what winter has become? Just an extended autumn and spring with the occasional chilly/cold day mixed in here or there? Don’t get me wrong. I’m not complaining. At all. It feels like the whole winter has been an early spring so far. :/

Crossing Main Street at Eighth looking south…

And the Artworks mural on Eighth Street that reproduces an original masterpiece by wildlife artist and conservationist, John A. Ruthven. The mural shows Martha, the last passenger pigeon, and her flock soaring over historic Bird Run at the Cincinnati Zoo…

It serves as a daily reminder to downtown residents, workers and visitors of the importance of wildlife conservation and the reality of extinction. It’s one of my favorites out of all the Artworks murals around Cincinnati. I marvel at the detail and am awe of the talent it took to complete this mural everytime I walk passed it.

🙂

Christmas carnage, part 4.

The carnage continues. When it’s February 1st, the Christmas tree has to go…

When I saw this tree earlier this morning, it was wrapped in an enormous plastic bag as well. I just find it really odd to wrap a tree up in a plastic bag to discard it. And exactly where do you find a bag that big? :/

Lunch at Americano.

After running some errands around downtown, we stopped back into Americano to share a burger for a late lunch. Because it wouldn’t be a weekend if we didn’t stop in for a delicious burger from Americano. This time we tried The Mexican topped with Rafa’s guac, fried jalapeños, pepper jack, queso fresco and mayo. And after a few chuckles about ordering Mexican at Americano, it was set down in front of us…

We got it with cajun fries, of course. And onion rings…

It’s such good stuff. The Mexican might just be my new favorite burger at Americano. Also not pictured were the order of their amazing wings with the house rub. We also ran into our friends Corey and Amy, who were also at Americano for an early dinner. It was fun to get to hang out with them for a little bit before we see them in Jamaica! 🙂
