No one out pizzas The Hut.

We got some Pizza Hut pizzas for lunch today. I love Pizza Hut...

It’s so good. Other than that, we didn’t do much at all today. It was a pretty lazy Sunday. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ•โค๏ธ

Making the rounds in OtR.

This afternoon, we rode the Metro 17 bus down into Over-the-Rhine. We found a gift card that still had some money on it. So we headed to Taft’s Ale House for lunch. We’ve been to Taft’s Ale House since our friend Chris’s birthday. Anymore it seems we just always go to Taft’s Brewpouriumย which is just around the corner from our house over on Spring Grove. We didn’t realize just how long it had been. It’s been so long they’ve built a whole new condo community at Race and Fourteenth Streets…

Hello, beautiful. Taft’s Ale House is so pretty…

When we were crossing the street, we saw another one of those #CincyStreetBots

I’ve really been digging Taft’s Cold Boy

Genifer ordered Taft’s Chicken Avocado Salad

And Saratoga chips with ranch…

I ordered two of Taft’s tri-tip sliders…

With tots and beer cheese…

And Taft’s had bread pudding. I love bread pudding. So I had to order it…

Taft’s is soooo good. Everything was delicious. Especially the bread pudding.

From Taft’s, we walked down to Washington Park to check out the last half hour or so of September’s edition of The City Flea

There were a couple of really dope hats at this Flea…

From Washinton Park, we started walking in the direction of Findlay Market. We walked by a few murals that I hadn’t seen before…

TAG! You’re it…

Findlay Market…

And then we walked over to Sam Adams Cincy Taproom

They were hosting their Oktoberfest…

We hung out for a minute but it was all sort of winding down. So we headed back over to Race Street to check out the new Goose+Elder

I love the restaurant bathroom trend of using wild floral print wallpapers…

Hi. And the other bathroom…

We had a White Russian…

And we ordered just a couple of little small plates to share like their watermelon…

And their mac&cheese…

Terrific stuff. I can’t wait to come back to eat a full meal at Goose+Elder…

Then we hopped in an Uber and headed home. It was a great afternoon in OtR. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ™๏ธโค๏ธ

An evening out in Northside.

We went out to Northside Tavern this evening for a drink…

We love Northside Tavern. On the way home, we got slices from Kitchen Factory

Kitchen Factory has some outstanding slices.

We love Northside. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿฅƒ๐Ÿ•โค๏ธ

Fiery Hen.

Because it’s Thursday, we stopped to check out the relatively new, Fiery Hen,ย it’s just a couple of doors down from Queen City Exchange on Court Street…

Genifer tried one of their cocktails but I don’t remember which one…

I had a $2 Miller High Life. It’s the champagne of beers…

We started with some delicious Pimento Cheese Croquettes…

Genifer had the Chef salad with grilled chicken…

And I ordered the chicken tenders with fries…

You got to pick your spice level. I chose the second mildest, Nashville Mild. It still had a bit of kick. Next time, I’m going to get the least spicy, Yella Belly. And your choice of fries or saratoga chips and ranch or blue cheese. Obviously, I got fries and ranch. Everything was outstanding. I can’t wait to come back to Fiery Hen for more tenders. Because I really love chicken tenders. And these tenders were awesome.ย ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿ”๐ŸŸโค๏ธ

It’s what’s for dinner.

We had Trader Joe’s Teriyaki Chicken for dinner tonight…

It’s really good but not nearly as good as Trader Joe’s Mandarin Orange Chicken. That one is my favorite. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿฅก๐Ÿ”โค๏ธ

FC Cincinnati versus Toronto FC.

This evening our FC Cincinnati played host to Michael Bradley’s Toronto FC. But first, we stopped at Mac’s Pizza Pub for their special $5 matchday pizza…

And I wanted a grilled cheeses with some waffle fries…

And when we were done eating, we walked over to Nippert Stadium to watch our FC|C play those hosers from up north…

Jozy Altidore didn’t play in this match. I’m not even sure if he traveled with the team to Cincinnati. And that’s fine. I’ve always thought that he wasย really overrated. We saw him play against the Crew in Columbus. And he was just as underwhelming in person as he is with the national team.

But even terribly overrated players can scorch you when they’re left totally unmarked just outside of the 18. Like when FC|C was playing Toronto up in Canadia.ย

Here we go…

There were fans at Nippert who booed every time Michael Bradley touched the ball. I found it to be incredibly disrespectful with all he’s done on the USMNT. I think he’s one of the better, more consistent players that our national team has had lately…

And FC Cincinnati lost 5-1. It’s just been painful.

We grabbed an Uber back to Northside Tavern for a drink…

And then we came home and walked the dogs…

It was a pretty fun evening if you take out the 5-1 loss. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ•๐Ÿฅชโšฝ๏ธ๐Ÿบโค๏ธ

It’s what’s for dinner.

Genifer made homemade popcorn chicken for dinner tonight…

It was delicious! And there was enough left for lunches. Here’s my lunch for tomorrow popcorn chicken with a whole bunch of corn cut off the cob…

Lunch tomorrow is going to be a good one. Genifer always find the best stuff to make for dinner… and apparently, lunches as well. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ”๐ŸŒฝโค๏ธ

Slow down and grill.

We grilled up some burgers this afternoon…

I forgot to take a photo of the finished burgers. But they were delicious. Everything always tastes so good when it comes off the grill.

Later, we walked down to Tickle Pickle for milkshakes…

Genifer tried their vegan cookies and cream milkshake made with coconut milk instead of dairy. And it was really,ย really good. Rather hilariously, I just got a regular old vanilla milkshake. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ”๐Ÿฆโค๏ธ

Northside Sunday.

Today is the first day of September. This afternoon we walked toย Django Western Taco for lunch. Django has really great chips and salsa. It’s some of Genifer’s favorite…

Genifer also had a carne asada taco…

I had a fried chicken taco…

And a jerk chicken quesadilla…

I love their jerk chicken quesadilla. It always reminds me of Jamaica. And lunch at Django is always so delicious. Afterward, we stopped at Higher Gravity for a couple of taster flights…

It was another really tasty Northside Sunday. ๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸŒฎ๐Ÿบโค๏ธ

Topgolf West Chester.

Early this afternoon, we drove out to the suburbs to check outย Topgolf West Chester

I haven’t swung a golf club in a really long time…

So this should be interesting…

Topgolf is pretty amazing and has a full-service bar and restaurant…

We shared a hitting bay with Cleve and Alyssa…

They have a whole bunch of different games you can play. We just played their signature Topgolf game where you score points by hitting your golf ball into any target assigned using Topgolf’s microchip technology…

The more accurate your shot and the farther the distance, the more points you earn…

It was really fun. During a game, each person got to hit 20 balls. While we were playing, we also ate lunch. We had some cheese curds…

Genifer had this turkey wrap…

And I had this short rib grilled cheeses…

Our lunch was delicious. Andย Topgolf is so much fun.ย It’s a little on the pricey side but still a whole bunch of fun. We’ll definitely be back very soon for more Topgolf.ย ๐Ÿ˜€โ›ณ๏ธโค๏ธ
