Burgers on a Sunday?!

We ran over to the grocery this morning…

And we stopped for java whips at Mad Llama

Good morning from Northside…

Later, we walked down to Gulow Street for cheeseburgers this evening…

We love this wall of paintings at Gulow Street. And this is what we’re want to replicate in our dining room and why we went to Waynesville looking for paintings….

The burgers at Gulow Street have to be in the running for some of the best in all of Cincinnati…

Just look at all that deliciousness…

Amazing burger.

Good evening from Northside…

Gulow Street burgers make any day a pretty terrific day. πŸ˜€πŸŒ„πŸΌπŸš‚πŸŽˆβ˜•οΈπŸ”β€οΈ

A tour of Northside eats.

The sunrise was pretty this morning…

We had to move our cars this morning because they were supposed to start working on our street…

Before we moved our cars, we stopped for coffee at Sidewinder

We found parking spots for both of our cars around the corner on Pullan Street…

And then we took the dogs on their morning walk…

Good morning from Northside…

I got a cinnamon roll for breakfast at Sidewinder…

At lunchtime, there still wasn’t any work taking place on our street…

We walked to back over to Morsel & Nosh for lunch…

We saw on their Instagram that they had a Cubano sammich as a special today. And it looked delicious

It was every bit as delicious as it looked. We love our lunches for Morsel & Nosh.

And for dinner, we walked down to Gulow Street

We met our neighbor friends at Gulow Street. And while we were there, we ran into our other neighbors and got to talk to them for a while. Now we have two neighbor friends on our street.

Good night from Northside…

We love our neighborhood. πŸ˜€πŸŒ„β˜•οΈπŸ₯ͺπŸ”πŸΎβ€οΈ

Friday burger night.

Friday got off to a gloomy start as well…

Good morning from Northside…

The bushes were covered in these little white flowers…

After work, we walked down to Gulow Street for our new Friday Burger Night…

On our way home, we stopped for a drink at Northside Tavern and then we took our very patient pups around the block on their walk…

Good evening from Northside…

And we finished our Friday by sitting out on our back patio fan watching some Olympics for a little bit…

We had a pretty good Friday. πŸ˜€πŸŒ„πŸ”β€οΈ

Tuesdays are for burgers.

Good morning from Northside…

This evening we walked down to Gulow Street for burger night…

Ohmigosh. Their burgers are so good.

Good evening from Northside…

Tuesday burger night.

Tuesday was off to another overcast start…

Good evening from Northside…

After work, we walked down to Gulow Street for burger night…

It’s such an amazing burger…

Later, we took the dogs on their walk around the block..

Tickle Pickle Saturday.

Good morning from Northside…

This afternoon we walked to Tickle Pickle for lunch…

When we got home, we were ready to eat our delicious Tickle Pickle. Genifer had her Eagles chicken sammich…

And I had my Bread Zepplin with extra cheese…

Today, we tried Tickle Pickle’s Goetta Van Fleet, their homemade mac & cheese topped with goetta and crushed BBQ Grippos…

We also got a side of their delicious mac & cheese…

And of course, we got milkshakes…

Good evening from Northside…

It turned out to be another pretty low-key day albeit it a very delicious one. We started watching Marcella on Netflix. “Despite marriage woes, a tragic loss, memory blackouts and her struggles as a mom, a London detective excels at what she does best: catching killers.” It’s another really good one. πŸ˜€πŸŒ„πŸ”πŸ“Ίβ€οΈ

And seen and noted…

Willshire Drive-In.

On our way up to Michigan, we stopped at the Willshire Drive-In

Genifer got a Oreo Flurrie and I got a butterscotch malt…

And she got a cheeseburger basket…

I got corn dogs because I love corn dogs…

The stuff at Willshire Drive-In was terrific. I love little ice cream shops like this. Everything is always amazing. πŸ˜€πŸ”πŸŸπŸŒβ€οΈ

Our new dehumidifier.

Good morning from Northside…

This afternoon we worked on reorganizing our basement…

Now we just need more shelves. And we finally got to turn on our new super industrial strength dehumidifier…

If we turned the dehumidifier in too soon, it could have pulled the moisture out the setting concrete and it wouldn’t have cured correctly…

And that would probably have been bad…

But omigosh, I was so excited to finally get to turn this thing on. And it drains straight into our new sump pump. It’s all so excited. We’re hoping the dehumidifier pulls all the moisture out of the air in our basement and eliminates that old musty basement smell. But we finally get to see how it works.

Later, we ventured out to West Chester, and we picked up Sonic for lunch…

We took our Sonic over and had lunch with Geri. Sonic was surprisingly good. We had cheeseburger meals. And Sonic also has corn dogs. I got a couple of corn dogs for a snack later. Gosh, I love corn dogs. And corn dongs can be surprisingly hard to find. The corn dogs from Sonic were really good.

Back in Northside, it’s starting to look a bit like autumn…

It was so gloomy, grey and overcast all day today…

And good evening from Northside…

This evening we planned to watch my Minnesota United play Dallas but the match was postponed due to positive tests for COVID-19. So we watched FC Cincinnati lose 1-0 to Toronto instead. FC|C is really tough to watch play anymore. It seems all they do is defend, eleven guys behind the ball and then park the bus. It makes for really boring soccer. And I’m really surprised they could pull over seven minutes of highlights out of this match.

But other than that, it was a pretty good Sunday. πŸ˜€πŸŒ„β˜οΈπŸ’§πŸ”πŸŸπŸƒβš½οΈβ€οΈ

Road trip to Indianapolis.

ROAD TRIP! This afternoon we drove over to Indianapolis. Before we left to go to North Carolina, we bought tickets on one of those ticket resale sites for the USL soccer match between Indy 11 and our favorite USL squad, Louisville City…

We dropped Mack at Pet Spot for the night and we dropped Oscar at Geri’s before heading over to Indianapolis…

Compared to all the driving we did last weekend, the drive over to Indianapolis really seemed like nothing. It went by so fast…

We stayed at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Indianapolis…

It was a really nice hotel with a beautiful open air atrium…

Our room was very nice as well…

Before the match, we shared a BBQ burger and pepperjack cheese bites at Loughmiller’s Pub…

Amazing burger. And then it was on to Lucas Oil Stadium…

Indy 11 pulled back a goal from a penalty kick just the before the halftime whistle. And that made the score 3-1 to Lou City at the half.

After seeing four goals in the first half, we broke camp in the 60th minute. We didn’t want to wait around to see if Indy 11 could mount a pretty epic comeback.

Lucas Oil Stadium sure is a beautiful place to watch a game. We were so happy we got to see it with the roof open and without many people inside. The announced attendance was just 6,700.

And the final score of the match was Lou City 3-1 over Indy 11. We saw all the goals. Plus, we were sitting behind the goal where Lousiville scored all three of their goals and then we moved to the other end and were sitting behind the goal when Indy 11 scored their PK. Pretty neat stuff.

We stopped for a postgame drink at Brothers…

And then we meandered through downtown back to our hotel…

We ordered pizza and called it a night…

And good night from Indianapolis. It was a really fun day! πŸ˜€πŸ—ΊοΈβš½οΈπŸΊβ€οΈ

Starting the holiday weekend with Tickle Pickle.

Tonight, we started our long four-day holiday weekend by walking to pick up dinner from Tickle Pickle

Genifer’s new favorite is the Eagles chicken sammich…

And I my go-to Buns ‘n Roses burger with extra cheese…

It’s so messy but soooo good! We also shared a side of their mac & cheese because it’s just plain awesome. And of course, we also got milkshakes. Genifer loves the vegan Oreo Speedwagon, made with vegan coconut milk ice cream. And I got my usual Flan Halen dairy strawberry shake. We love Tickle Pickle. It was a delicious way to start the long holiday weekend. πŸ˜€πŸ₯’πŸ”πŸ”β€οΈ
