It was another overcast and grey Monday morning. And they were already getting to work on our street…

They were cutting our street this morning…
Y0u kn ow what brightens up a Monday? Grilled cheeses and chicken nuggets…
Guess what? when we took the dogs for their evening walk, it was still overcast…

When they were working on the street earlier, they must have pushed the dumpster up into the empty lot at the end of our street…
And that’s actually a pretty good thing because it had been creeping further and further out into the street. And we made it through another Monday. 😀🌄🐔🥪❤️
Early this afternoon, we headed up to Waynesville…
They were having a little street faire that we wanted to check out and we wanted to wander in and out of the all the little shop in the “antique capital of the MIdwest…”
So we walked back down to the end of the street faire to one of the food trucks…
They had Canadian Poutine…
Believe it or not, we’ve never had poutine before. And it was delicious…
We stopped for a espresso milk shake…
When we were done shopping, we ordered a pizza to take home with us…
And Genifer got and coffee and I got a strawberry smoothie for the ride home…

The pizza was delicious! Waynesville was a lot of fun. We were looking for old paintings to hang in our dining room. We found a few paintings to get us started. It was a really good Sunday. 😀🌄🚧🛍️🖼️🍕❤️
We met our neighbor friends at Gulow Street. And while we were there, we ran into our other neighbors and got to talk to them for a while. Now we have two neighbor friends on our street.
When we got home, we took the dogs round the block…

For dinner, we ordered takeout from China Food…
China Food is so good. And then we sat out of our back patio and watched the end of the Olympics.
After 16 days, the 2020 Tokyo Olympics came to a close. The USA volleyball team won gold in the final event of the games to top China in the gold medal count and finish on top of the overall medal overall. The USA secured 21 overall medals in the final weekend to finish out the Olympic spectacle with 25 more medals than any other country. It’s been an exciting two weeks of lasting Olympic memories. And the pageantry of closing ceremonies was a spectacle of its own.
But between the time difference, repetitive programming, and the endless re-airing of events, these Olympics were the most exhausting, challenging and frustrating to try to watch. And while NBC tried to create an immersive and watchable experience, the modern world of social media shattered the old model of replaying and re-airing events.
Luckily for us fans of the Olympics, there are two positives about the next go-around. There’s only a three-year wait until the Paris Games. And they should provide an daytime schedule of live events. No matter what happens in 2024, it can’t get much worse than the much-missed Tokyo spectacle.
Still, we did the best we could to enjoy the heck out the Tokyo games. 😀🌄🍕🥡📺🏆❤️
We had one of our HelloFresh meals leftover from last week. So we had Brown Sugar Bourbon Chicken Salad with kale, apples, roasted carrots, sunflower seeds and honey dijon dressing…
After work, I ran over to the Kroger by our house to grab a couple of things. And look at the huge balloon options the neighborhood Kroger had…
For dinner tonight, we had our first HelloFresh dinner of the week. This one was One-Pan Trattoria Tortellini Bake with a crispy parmesan panko topping…
It was delicious especially since we added garlic bread to the meal…
We drove over to St. Bernard to get Skyline lunch…
And on our way home, of course we get stuck behind a train…
The train wasn’t too long. We made it home to enjoy our Skylines…
It was still looking pretty grey and a little stormy when we were heading out on our evening walk…

And for dinner, we ate our deep dish pizza from Chameleon…
I love deep dish pizza. And we ate our pineapple upside down cheesecake that we got with our Skyline lunch…
We weren’t sure about pineapple upside down cheesecake but it turned out to be amazing. And we wished we would have ordered two slices. And that was our Thursday. 😀🌄🧀🌭🍕🍍❤️
Anyone who says pineapple isn’t a pizza topping clearly hasn’t had a Hawaiian pizza because they are delicious. We finished all of it while we watched more Olympics…
We used some more of our Taft’s gift card. And we still have a little bit of our gift card left. It’s been the gift that keeps on giving. We love Taft’s.

For lunch, we had our last HelloFresh meal of the week. This one was Sesame Soy Pork Bowls with sriracha mayo, cilantro and crispy onions…
These meals are delicious. This was one was no exception. But it was a little on the spicy side. It was the first one that we had to take breaks from eating because it was so spicy. Still, it was delicious.

And I ordered the Rigatoni Bolognese with garlic bread…
And I love garlic bread. Ohmigosh. We love Gulow Street so much. Everything is so good. We’re so happy they decided to become part of our Northside.
And later, we watched the Olympics in our backyard…
I forgot to take a photo of our projector set-up this evening. I think our set-up is pretty cool. I love the weekends when we can sit out on our patio and enjoy our backyard. And Saturdays are the best. 😀🌄🐾🍜📺🏆❤️
