The Olympics are over.

This morning we ran over to the grocery…

They had the panda and train on-shelf today…

And we stopped for coffee…

When we got home, we took the dogs round the block…

Good morning from Northside…

We ate this sausage alfredo flatbread for lunch…

Our HelloFresh arrived today…

Good evening from Northside…

For dinner, we ordered takeout from China Food…

China Food is so good. And then we sat out of our back patio and watched the end of the Olympics.

After 16 days, the 2020 Tokyo Olympics came to a close. The USA volleyball team won gold in the final event of the games to top China in the gold medal count and finish on top of the overall medal overall. The USA secured 21 overall medals in the final weekend to finish out the Olympic spectacle with 25 more medals than any other country. It’s been an exciting two weeks of lasting Olympic memories. And the pageantry of closing ceremonies was a spectacle of its own.

But between the time difference, repetitive programming, and the endless re-airing of events, these Olympics were the most exhausting, challenging and frustrating to try to watch. And while NBC tried to create an immersive and watchable experience, the modern world of social media shattered the old model of replaying and re-airing events.

Luckily for us fans of the Olympics, there are two positives about the next go-around. There’s only a three-year wait until the Paris Games. And they should provide an daytime schedule of live events. No matter what happens in 2024, it can’t get much worse than the much-missed Tokyo spectacle.

Still, we did the best we could to enjoy the heck out the Tokyo games. 😀🌄🍕🥡📺🏆❤️

Already tired of the cicadas.

Good morning from Northside…

Is there such a thing as an albino cicada?

Ugh. We’re pretty done with the cicadas already.

We had panini sammiches again for lunch…

Good evening from Northside…

We ordered noodles from China Food via Doordash…

We ordered chow mein on the left and lo mein on the right. We thought the lo mein was better than the chow mein. But both were really tasty. And that was pretty much our Thursday…

Oh. And we started watching Jupiter’s Legacy on Netflix tonight. 😀🌄🥪🥡📺❤️

Friday, March 12th.

We ordered Chinese from China Food via Doordash…

And I was so excited when our order arrived that I completely forgot to take a photo of our food. But it was really good again. We’ve been all about the Empress Chicken and this time we got General Tso’s Chicken too.

😀🌄🥡♥️

Today was a really good day.

Today was my birthday. Apparently, there was a full moon last night and we could still sort of see it out of our bathroom window this morning…

There were some really pretty clouds this morning…

Good morning from Northside…

This morning we ran over to the Kroger Fuel Station to fill up…

We had 80¢ off per gallon thanks to our Kroger Fuel points…

And then we ran over to Mad Llama for birthday coffee…

JAVA WHIPS!

And it was 29º on January 29th…

Good evening from Northside…

Birthday presents!

We had a $10 off coupon from DoorDash so we ordered dinner from China Food

We ordered so much food…

But it was delicious. We can’t wait to order more dinners from China Food.

Later, we watched the Mavs lose to the Jazz. Bummer. And over in the Big Ten, #19 Illinois knocked off #7 Iowa…

Afterward, I saw this on Twitter

And there was this one. 🤣 Poor Sparty. They’re having a rough year. I really miss Michigan basketball. I can’t wait until they’re done with their quarantine.

I had a really wonderful birthday. Especially for being in the middle of a pandemic…

Thank you for all the cards and birthday wishes. 😀🌄⛽️☕️🎁🥡❤️

GrubHub: China Food.

We’ll be the first people to admit, it’s really nice when people bring you food. We’ve been known to give UberEats a tap or two. But the options with UberEats are always pretty limited. Recently, our default food delivery app became OrderUp. It had a nice variety of options and you could easily track the progress of your order through the OrderUp app. And it never took very long for our food to arrive. And then OrderUp merged with GrubHub, I’d never really heard good things about GrubHub. But tonight, we broke down and finally decided to give GrubHub a try. We ordered dinner from China Food in Clifton. Placing the order was easy enough, but the app never updated to show the progress of our delivery. After about an hour or so of wondering where our order was, our somehow food arrived…

It was really good stuff…

And they gave us bunches of fortune cookies again

But the GrubHub app could really use some serious work. 😀🍚❤️

OrderUp: China Food.

There’s a Chinese restaurant in Clifton called China Food. We’ve driven by it a bunch of times but we’ve never actually stopped there to eat. Tonight, we were perusing OrderUp to find something to have delivered for dinner. And much to our surprise on the list of restaurants that will deliver to us, China Food. So we finally got to try us some China Foods…

Genifer ordered Sesame Chicken. And I ordered Empress Chicken…

We got some crab rangoons and fried wontons too. Everything was really outstanding. We may have just found our new go-to Chinese restaurant. At least where delivery is involved. And they gave us about 20 or so fortune cookies…

Fortune cookies for days. China Food is really great stuff. 😀🍜❤️
