The Olympics are over.

This morning we ran over to the grocery…

They had the panda and train on-shelf today…

And we stopped for coffee…

When we got home, we took the dogs round the block…

Good morning from Northside…

We ate this sausage alfredo flatbread for lunch…

Our HelloFresh arrived today…

Good evening from Northside…

For dinner, we ordered takeout from China Food…

China Food is so good. And then we sat out of our back patio and watched the end of the Olympics.

After 16 days, the 2020 Tokyo Olympics came to a close. The USA volleyball team won gold in the final event of the games to top China in the gold medal count and finish on top of the overall medal overall. The USA secured 21 overall medals in the final weekend to finish out the Olympic spectacle with 25 more medals than any other country. It’s been an exciting two weeks of lasting Olympic memories. And the pageantry of closing ceremonies was a spectacle of its own.

But between the time difference, repetitive programming, and the endless re-airing of events, these Olympics were the most exhausting, challenging and frustrating to try to watch. And while NBC tried to create an immersive and watchable experience, the modern world of social media shattered the old model of replaying and re-airing events.

Luckily for us fans of the Olympics, there are two positives about the next go-around. There’s only a three-year wait until the Paris Games. And they should provide an daytime schedule of live events. No matter what happens in 2024, it can’t get much worse than the much-missed Tokyo spectacle.

Still, we did the best we could to enjoy the heck out the Tokyo games. 😀🌄🍕🥡📺🏆❤️

A rainy Saturday morning.

It was raining again this morning…

The waterfall from the neighbors gutters was in full effect…

Oscar did not want to go out in the rain…

Eventually, the rain stopped long enough to go on a quick walk…

Good morning from Northside…

We didn’t have a big puddle on the side of our house…

We put together this little entryway table…

We got sammiches from NYPD Pizza for lunch…

NYPD is so good. After we were done eating the sun came out….

Good evening from Northside….

Mack and Oscar were drinking out of the same water bowl again…

There was an almost a full moon tonight…

Today was also my 1100th Timehop in a row…

And there were photos of these two in my Timehop today…

We had a great Saturday. 😀🌄🌧️☔️🥪🐾❤️

Already tired of the cicadas.

Good morning from Northside…

Is there such a thing as an albino cicada?

Ugh. We’re pretty done with the cicadas already.

We had panini sammiches again for lunch…

Good evening from Northside…

We ordered noodles from China Food via Doordash…

We ordered chow mein on the left and lo mein on the right. We thought the lo mein was better than the chow mein. But both were really tasty. And that was pretty much our Thursday…

Oh. And we started watching Jupiter’s Legacy on Netflix tonight. 😀🌄🥪🥡📺❤️

Friday, March 12th.

We ordered Chinese from China Food via Doordash…

And I was so excited when our order arrived that I completely forgot to take a photo of our food. But it was really good again. We’ve been all about the Empress Chicken and this time we got General Tso’s Chicken too.

😀🌄🥡♥️

Hooray for Saturday!

Hooray. It’s Saturday! We were so lazy today…

Good morning from Northside…

We ate cinnamon rolls for breakfast…

And we ate fruit from our Edible Arrangement too. Both were so good…

Speaking of so good, we watched Leicester City drop three goals in seven minutes on Liverpool. And it was awesome.

Later, we ordered lunch from Dragon City through DoorDash

Genifer ordered Pad Thai…

And she got some dumplings too…

I ordered Chicken Egg Foo Young…

I also ordered these chicken teriyaki skewers…

I accidentally took this photo of our ceiling fan…

Good evening from Northside…

It looked exactly like it did this morning…

This evening we watched Crime Scene: The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel on Netflix. That show was pretty crazy. But we weren’t crazy. We were just pretty lazy today.
😀🌄☁️🍍🍓⚽️🥡📺❤️

COVID-19 Carryout: CityBird Tenders.

To celebrate surviving another week of working from home, we ordered some delicious carryout from CityBird Tenders in Over-the-Rhine…

Genifer ordered their Citybird sandwich with tenders, city slaw, city sauce, pickles all on a toasted potato bun and served with fries…

I ordered their 10 tenders with 2 sauces and a side of fries…

I got their City Sauce and Honey Dijon mustard. Citybird is so good. We’re going to have to get more Citybird Tenders carryout again really soon. 😀🐔❤️

COVID-19 Carryout: Taft’s Brewpourium.

We stopped at Taft’s Brewpourium on our way home…

We ordered Taft’s weekend special again. Large pizza and a growler for just $27…

We added two salad this time too…

Taft’s has some of my favorite pizza and beers in all of Cincinnati. 😀🍕🥗❤️

COVID-19 Carryout: Second Place.

We noticed on Instagram that Second Place has started selling their delicious bourbon slushes to go. So you know we had to get a couple of slushies…

I think they repainted the building next to Second Place…

And The Littlefield was open for carry-out as well…

And we sat out in our backyard and enjoyed our slushes…

Hopefully this mess will start to look better very soon…

And Oscar hopes so too…

What a great way to send a Friday evening. Ugly or not, I love our backyard. 😀🏡🍻❤️

COVID-19 Carryout: Django Western Taco.

This evening we went to get some carry out from Django Western Taco to celebrate the nine-year anniversary of our very first date

We shared chips & salsa, a jerk chicken quesadilla and an order of churros…

And I ordered two fried chicken tacos with pimento cheese…

Everything was delicious. We love Django Western Taco so much. 😀🌮❤️

COVID-19 Carryout: Taft’s Brewpourium.

After working on our front yard this afternoon, we ran over to Taft’s Brewpourium to support one of Northside favorites…

On Saturdays and Sunday, Taft’s Brewpourium has a special for a large two-topping pizza and a growler for just $27

Our pizza and growler was ready and waiting for us…

Our growler was filler with one of our favorites, Taft’s Hazy Colada

We also picked up a six-pack of Taft’s new beer, Love in the Tub

It’s a peanut butter mocha pie stout. It was incredible! And proceeds went to Taft’s Team Relief Fund to help currently out of work employees…

Our large pepperoni and sausage pizza was incredible too…

And we ate the entire thing. The Brewpourium is one of our favorite places. And we’ve missed it so much. We’re going to have to get another New Haven style pizza again very, very soon. 😀🍕🍻❤️
