A rainy Cincinnati Saturday.

It was really warm this morning with temperatures hovering in the mid-60s. But it was supposed to rain all day. And it pretty much did.

Before it started raining this morning we got up and ran over to Biggby for weekend morning coffee

We saw on Biggby’s Instagram that they had a BOGO offer just for today…

My new favorite go-to drink is Biggy’s Cocoa Caramella hot chocolate with a little bit of butterscotch added to it. It’s a great drink. And I really prefer hot chocolate to coffee. The caffeine makes me feel too jittery.

We watched some of the soccer this morning. My favorite club, Arsenal drew 1-1 with Crystal Palace and my other favorite club, Leicester City lost to Southampton 2-1. The last time Leicester and Southampton played, Leicester thumped the Saints 9-0.

We hung out upstairs and I worked on some work stuff until the dogs let us know they wanted to go on another dog walk…

Later when it was time for the other football, we took the Taft’s gift cards we received for Christmas around the corner to the Brewpourium for some pizza and wings. Taft’s had a peanut butter version of their Maverick chocolate porter on tap…

And it was really terrific. We usually get Taft’s Cherrywood BBQ wings but tonight we tried their buffalo wings. And they really good too. Pretty spicy but really good. So good, in fact, we had already eaten half of the wings before I remembered to take a photo…

And we shared a small pizza with pepperoni, sausage and banana peppers…

Taft’s pizzas are so good! When we were leaving, the Brewopurium was getting crazy…

Apparently, there was going to be a comedy show in the back of the Brewpourium. When we got home, we walked the dogs around the block again in the rain…

We watched a pretty dumb movie on Prime Video and then fell asleep while we watched the rest of the other football playoff game. It was a pretty good Saturday. It would have better if I didn’t have to work on a bunch of work stuff. πŸ˜€β˜•οΈπŸΎπŸ•πŸ”πŸŒ§οΈβ€οΈ

Are you ready for some football?

This afternoon, we drove over to Rookwood Commons to go to BJ’s Brewhouse for their awesome Sunday Happy Hour during the final Sunday of the NFL regular season…

We started with a couple of beers. Genifer likes their PM Porter and I usually go for their Tatonka Stout. We also had some mozzarella sticks…

We planned to order more food for lunch but the normally reliable bar service at BJs was just horrendous today. Apparently, the bartender was really hungover and didn’t feel like waiting on anybody. We couldn’t even manage to flag him down to refill our water. So we broke camp and went to Taft’s Brewpourium for pizza and wings…

The pizza and wings were awesome. And our Cowboys won big but the Eagles won too. So the Cowboys will be watching the playoffs with the rest of us. πŸ˜€πŸˆπŸΊπŸ§€πŸ•πŸ”β€οΈ

Ugly sweaters, baby yoda and pizza.

This afternoon we met Geri and CAP (Cleve-Alyssa-Pippa) at Taft’s Brewpourium for some pizza. Genifer organized a family Ugly Sweater party. So we all wore our best ugly sweaters. I wish I would have had someone take a photo of all of us together. But I didn’t. Thankfully, Genifer got these photos…

Taft’s was also hosting a pop-up Christmas mart. We got some delicious spicy pickles. There was a lot of cute stuff but nothing was cuter than this adorable baby Yoda…

Taft’s Brewpourium is always delicious and fun. πŸ˜€πŸ•πŸΊπŸ›οΈβ€οΈ

Taft’s Chicken Pesto.

After the football game, we stopped at Taft’s Brewpourium again. But this time instead of one of their delicious New Haven pizzas, I tried one of the Brewpourium’s Chicken Pesto sandwiches…

It was a really good sammich. Genifer had one of their terrific salads. And we shared some loaded tots…

We love Taft’s Brewpourium. πŸ˜€πŸ”πŸ₯—❀️

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween from Northside! Oscar could sense something amiss in the air…

It was time to break out Oscar’s dinosaur costume. We were happy that he got to wear his adorable dinosaur costume for a little bit…

These pictures really don’t show it but Oscar gets so mad when he has to wear his Halloween costume. We got a few photos and then it came right off. He wears his dinosaur costume just long enough to get a photo every year…

We tinkered briefly with the idea of handing out candy tonight. But it was sooo cold and sooo rainy that we decided to go to Taft’s Brewpourium to eat delicious pizza and BBQ chicken wings…

Going to Taft’s Brewpourium on Halloween is kind of becoming a yearly tradition. We did the same exact thing last year to have a Taft’s Gourd to Death

Taft’s pizza is so delicious. Eating pizza was a much better idea than sitting out in the cold and rain, handing out candy to strangely dressed children. We sat there at Taft’s just stuffing our faces full of pizza and BBQ wings while we watched our birds-eye view of our street from our third-floor WyzeCam

Not surprisingly, there weren’t a ton of people out and about. Thanks for all the great memories, Timehop!Β πŸ˜€πŸ¦•πŸ¬πŸŽƒβ€οΈ

Sometimes you just want pizza and wings.

After Oktober Zinzinnati, we stopped at Taft’s Brewpourium for pizza and wings…

Sometimes, you just want some pizza and wings. πŸ˜€πŸ•πŸ“β€οΈ

USWNT at Taft’s Brewpourium.

This afternoon we went over to Taft’s Brewpourium to watch the USWNT’s World Cup group match against Chile…

USWNT won 3-0 and the pizza was as delicious as always. πŸ˜€βš½οΈπŸ†πŸ•β€οΈ

Sunday afternoon at Taft’s Brewpourium.

We went around the corner toΒ Taft’s Brewpourium for lunch this afternoon. We had one of Taft’s delicious Bloody Mary’s…

And some delicious New Haven style pizza with Taft’s incredible BBQ wings…

We really love the Brewpourium. πŸ˜€πŸ•πŸ”β€οΈ

Seen and noted at Brewporium.

We went over to Taft’s Brewpourium for lunch today. And as we were walking into the Brewporium, a train rolled by with a rather unusual cargo…

I guess I never really thought about how they move tanks around from place to place. It makes perfect sense after thinking about it for a little bit that they would move them with trains. It’s pretty interesting the things you just kind of stumble across.

Brewpourium started doing wings and they are terrific…

But for me, the star at Brewpourium is always going to be the pizza. It’s sooo good…

And I tried something new off of Taft’s brunch menu, sausage gravy knots…

They were really good. Genifer wasn’t feeling them but she’s not the biggest fan of breakfast stuff at non-breakfast times. I thought they were really good. I took the rest home with us and ate them for breakfast at work on Monday.

I love Taft’s Brewpourium. And we still have a little bit of money left on our gift card! It’s been the gift that keeps on giving. πŸ˜€πŸ”πŸ•β€οΈ

FC Cincinnati: Meet the Team.

After work tonight, we went to a special FC Cincinnati Season Ticket holder Meet the Team event at Taft’s Brewpourium. And it was awesome. Doors opened at 5:00pm. I think we got to the Brewpourium at 5:02…

We got a selfie with FC|C President Jeff Berding…

There was some sharp looking merch…

New got new FC Cincinnati MLS scarves. But I didn’t think to take a photo of them. There were a bunch of different tables set-up for autographs…

And there was this impressive sculpture work-in-progress of the Cincinnati boxing legend, the Cincinnati Cobra Ezzard Charles,Β When it’s completed, this larger than life statue will live outside of FC Cincinnati’s new soccer-specific stadium in Cincinnati’s West End on the street named after the boxer…

I couldn’t help but notice there are a fair number of players from Michigan on FC|C’s MLS squad including Eric Alexander, who is from Portage right next to Kalamazoo…

And there are a bunch of new guys who are not from anywhere near Michigan…

We saw FC|C’s very first MLS designated player, FanendoΒ Adi…

There are a bunch of new faces to learn…

And there was one of my favorite FC|C players ex-Arsenal defender Justin Hoyte…

And contrary to #HoyteIsOpen from last season, he wasn’t open for very long tonight…

He was definitely one of the more popular players at this event.

And then it was about time for the main event…

After Jeff Berding’s opening comments, every player came up on stage to be introduced and say a few words to all of us fans. There were a lot of new faces to learn…

And Manu Ledesma…

And Polish goalkeeperΒ PrzemysΕ‚aw “Titi” TytoΕ„…

That’s Eric Alexander from Portage, Michigan. He went to Portage Central High School…

Emery Welshman was one of my favorite players from last season…

After this event was over, he got sent out on loan to Canadian Premier League side, Forge FC for the season. Also, there’s a Canadian Premier League? Asking for a friend. Next was one of our favorites, the aforementioned Fanendo Adi…

And Corben Bone who lives in Northside and who we met at Higher Gravity…

And Justin Hoyte, who was still not open despite his hashtag claiming otherwise…

After USMNT midfielder Kenny Saief who just joined FC|C in the last couple of days from Belgian giants Anderlecht…

And there was defender Forest Lasso…

And there were a bunch of other guys but the above photos were the best photos. A lot of them were kind of fuzzy or blurry. I probably should have used a camera other than my Samsung Galaxy Note9 with my Moment 60mm lens…

But oh well. Then the entire team came back up on stage for a group photo…

Can you hear me in the back?

It was a pretty neat event. It was much more intimate than I thought it was going to be…

And there was a roundtable discussion with Jeff Berding, Coach Koch and the guy in charge of international recruiting…

There were autograph sessions and then all the players got pizza slices…

It was a pretty awesome night with FC Cincinnati. Click to see all the photos I took at the FC Cincinnati Meet the Team season ticket holder event. πŸ˜€βš½οΈβ€οΈ
