What do they say about best laid plans?

We watched soccer this morning…

Good morning from Northside…

We planned to drive up to Waynesville to check out the Waynesville Fall Fest…

But it looked a lot smaller in person than it did on the map, there were so many cars in the parking lot, and we didn’t see any masks on people walking in to the fest….

We decided to add Waynesville Fall Fest to the list of things to do next fall along with the Waynesville Sauerkraut Festival. So we decided to walk through the little shops in Waynesville again…

But first coffee…

I actually got a non-dairy maple shake instead. And it was pretty amazing…

But Genifer got coffee…

The cow painting that I love was still there…

We found three oil paintings here at Lilly’s Corner Mall….

And I almost got this one for the studio office…

If it’s still there the next time we come up to Waynesville, I’m going to get it.

Last time we were in Waynesville, we were told that this building is haunted by two spirits; a little girl and an older man in a top hat. And that they can sometimes be seen looking out the second floor windows…

So now we always stop to look to see if we see anyone in the windows…

Waynesville is always fun. We enjoy wandering in and out of all the little shops. On our way home, we stopped at Genntown Farms to get a couple of little pumpkins…

We stopped for lunch at Doc’s Place in Lebanon…

Genifer had a turkey burger…

I ordered this huge fish hoagie…

We stopped at a little bakery in Lebanon and got cupcakes for later and stopped for coffee at Kidd Coffee in Mason….

We took the dogs around the block and Chloe was our in her front yard…

Good evening from Northside…

Tonight, we finished Only Murderers in the Building on Hulu. It was pretty cute…

It was a really good sports day too. Michigan thumped Northwestern 33-7 and #2 Cincinnati squeaked by Navy 27-20. In soccer, Louisville City knocked off Memphis 901 3-1, Minnesota United drew with LAFC 1-1 and FC Cincinnati lost to Inter Miami 5-1. FC|C’s loss virtually guarantees they’ll win their third wooden spoon in three seasons in MLS. The wooden spoon is awarded to the team that finishes with the lowest point total in MLS. Three for three. At least they’re incredibly consistent.

We had a really good Saturday. 😀🌄🖼️🍔📺❤️

A tour of Northside eats.

The sunrise was pretty this morning…

We had to move our cars this morning because they were supposed to start working on our street…

Before we moved our cars, we stopped for coffee at Sidewinder…

We found parking spots for both of our cars around the corner on Pullan Street…

And then we took the dogs on their morning walk…

Good morning from Northside…

I got a cinnamon roll for breakfast at Sidewinder…

At lunchtime, there still wasn’t any work taking place on our street…

We walked to back over to Morsel & Nosh for lunch…

We saw on their Instagram that they had a Cubano sammich as a special today. And it looked delicious…

It was every bit as delicious as it looked. We love our lunches for Morsel & Nosh.

And for dinner, we walked down to Gulow Street…

We met our neighbor friends at Gulow Street. And while we were there, we ran into our other neighbors and got to talk to them for a while. Now we have two neighbor friends on our street.

Good morning from Northside…

After we were done with work, we walked down to Gulow Street…

If you couldn’t tell, we like Gulow Street a lot…

Tonight, we both got noodles or as we like to call them: noods. Genifer ordered the Sesame Noods.

And I ordered the rigatoni bolognese noods with garlic bread…

Gulow Street has delicious, delicious noods. On the way home, we stopped to sit on the patio at Northside Tavern….

And then we went to home take the dogs around the block…

Gulow Street Friday nights are the best. 😀🌄🍝🥡🐾❤️

It’s kind of Taco Tuesday.

Good morning from Northside…

Mack and Oscar were drinking out of the same water bowl again…

Our second HelloFresh meal of the week was One-Pan Portobello and Poblano Fajitas with pico de gallo and smoky red pepper crema…

So it was kind of Taco Tuesday…

This meal was another delicious one. But it was the spiciest HelloFresh meal we’ve had yet. We actually had to stop eating a couple of times to let our mouths cool off a bit.

Saturdays are the best.

Good morning from Northside…

For lunch, we had our last HelloFresh meal of the week. This one was Sesame Soy Pork Bowls with sriracha mayo, cilantro and crispy onions…

These meals are delicious. This was one was no exception. But it was a little on the spicy side. It was the first one that we had to take breaks from eating because it was so spicy. Still, it was delicious.

Good evening from Northside…

We walked back down to Gulow Street for some noodles…

Genifer order some Sesame Noodles…

And I ordered the Rigatoni Bolognese with garlic bread…

And I love garlic bread. Ohmigosh. We love Gulow Street so much. Everything is so good. We’re so happy they decided to become part of our Northside.

And later, we watched the Olympics in our backyard…

I forgot to take a photo of our projector set-up this evening. I think our set-up is pretty cool. I love the weekends when we can sit out on our patio and enjoy our backyard. And Saturdays are the best. 😀🌄🐾🍜📺🏆❤️

The Tokyo Olympics are underway!

Good morning from Northside…

Good evening from Northside…

Tonight, we watched the Tokyo Olympics Open Ceremonies. I thought they were very poignant yet exceptionally beautiful. For me, he most spectacular part was the amazing drone display…

Such pageantry. We’re really excited for the Olympics. With still working from home because the pandemic, it’s a quite opportunity to get to really deep dive into the Tokyo games and have them on in the background all day. 😀🌄🐾🏆❤️

Also, it’s hard to believe there isn’t an emoji for the Olympic rings.

#JJVECincy2021 Sunday.

Our morning started off with knocking around the soccer ball in our backyard…

And we took the dogs on their morning walk…

Violette and Edgerton took turns walking Captain Oskey…

Good morning from Northside…

We walked to Sidewinder to get breakfast and coffees…

And we walked Up Hamilton Avenue to eat our breakfast at Jergen’s Park..

And we got to play at another playground…

After playing in the park, we walked home through Parker Woods…

After a bit, we headed down into Over-the-Rhine…

We parked at Washington Park and walked to Taft’s Ale House for lunch…

Lunch was delicious. We walked back down to Washington Park…

So the kids could play in the fountains…

And they got to play on the playgrounds…

Then we walked over to get rolled ice cream…

The ice cream was delicious! Thanks Simply Rolled!

We had a really great time down in OtR…

On our way back to Northside, we drove by the new soccer stadium in the West End…

When we got home, we took the dogs around the block. Violette and Edgerton took turns walking Captain Oskey again…

Good eveinng from Northside…

Violette wanted to rake the stones in our backyard…

We fired up the grill and made some burgers and hot dogs…

When we were at Taft’s Ale House, Surf’s Up was coming on one of the TVs in the bar. The kids became enamored with the movie. So this evening, we watched it in our backyard…

It was a pretty good movie. The kids really seemed to like it.

It was another really wonderful day with JJVE. We had the most amazing Sunday. It was the best day again. 😀🌄🏡😍🥰❤️

Hello from Northside…

The clouds were looking a bit on the dark side this morning…

Good morning from Northside…

This morning Oscar was given the nickname Captain Oskey. And Mack was dubbed Cowboy Mac ‘n Cheese. Mostly because the kids thought Mack’s spots make him look like a little cow.

We headed out to start our big fun Saturday with JJVE. We had to duck under some awnings for cover from rain showers twice once we were on our way. And then the sun was out…

We walked to Bonomini Bakery to get donuts for breakfast…

Food & Wine recently named Bonomini The Best Doughnut in Ohio…

We ate our donuts over at Hoffner Park…

But we were still hungry so we had lunch at Taqueria 251…

Their esquite is pretty incredible…

And their chilaquiles rojos were really good…

After lunch, we walked over to Urban Artifact…

When we got home, all of us took the dogs around the block…

We stopped at the playgrounds up at the school on the top of the hill…

Good evening from Northside…

We played some hybrid soccer in our backyard, made a bunch of drawlings and had an NYPD Pizza party…

We discovered Rollino Lattes…

And we played a bunch of Uno…

It was a big day. The kids wore Mack out…

We had the most amazing Saturday. It was the best day. 😀🌄🏡😍🥰❤️

A little addition to our backyard.

Good morning from Northside…

Our HelloFresh meal this evening was Sesame Soy Beef Bowls with shredded carrots, buttery rice and sriracha mayo…

The HelloFresh meals are just so good. And this one was no exception. Delicious.

We’ve been trying to rake the dogs on their evening walk a little bit later when it’s a little bit cooler outside…

We added this little fire hydrant in our backyard for the dogs to pee on…

We think it’s pretty cute and kinda funny. And that was our Wednesday.

More special deliveries.

We ran over to Lowe’s this morning. And when we got to Lowe’s, it started pouring down rain…

Like torrential downpour rain…

Believe it or not, we needed more stones. But this time, we got more river peebles…

And when we were on our way to our car, still raining…

And we stopped for more Mad Llama coffee…

I had forgotten how many llamas were inside Mad Llama…

Mmmm… Java whip…

When we got home, the rain had let up and we took the dogs on their walk…

Good morning from Northside…

So grey…

We were expecting another special delivery…

Later in the afternoon, the sun decided to make an appearance…

Good evening from Northside…

To celebrate the sun coming out, we walked to NYPD to pick up a pizza party…

And we hung out in our backyard…

Part of our special delivery were these flamingo lawn ornaments…

And since it was a bit cool from the rain, we made our first fire pit…

And another of special deliveries was this projector for our back patio…

The screen from our projector arrives tomorrow.

We’re starting to really love our backyard. 😀🌄🏡🌨️🍕🦩🔥📺🏀❤️
