An Olympic Saturday.

Good morning from Northside…

We mowed our backyard weeds grass this morning…

Genifer went out with a couple of her friends in Over-the-Rhine this afternoon. I dropped her off at Queen City Radio…

I hung out with dogs and watched Olympics all day. It was pretty awesome. And then we went on a walk…

Good evening from Northside…

When I went down into OtR to pick up Genifer, there was this crazy car behind me…

We watched the Minnesota United match draw their match against Vancouver. And then we watched more of the Olympics. We’ve really been enjoying the heck out of the games. ๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸŒ„โค๏ธ

#JJVECincy2021 Sunday.

Our morning started off with knocking around the soccer ball in our backyard…

And we took the dogs on their morning walk…

Violette and Edgerton took turns walking Captain Oskey…

Good morning from Northside…

We walked to Sidewinder to get breakfast and coffees…

And we walked Up Hamilton Avenue to eat our breakfast at Jergen’s Park..

And we got to play at another playground…

After playing in the park, we walked home through Parker Woods…

After a bit, we headed down into Over-the-Rhine…

We parked at Washington Park and walked to Taft’s Ale House for lunch…

Lunch was delicious. We walked back down to Washington Park…

So the kids could play in the fountains…

And they got to play on the playgrounds…

Then we walked over to get rolled ice cream…

The ice cream was delicious! Thanks Simply Rolled!

We had a really great time down in OtR…

On our way back to Northside, we drove by the new soccer stadium in the West End…

When we got home, we took the dogs around the block. Violette and Edgerton took turns walking Captain Oskey again…

Good eveinng from Northside…

Violette wanted to rake the stones in our backyard…

We fired up the grill and made some burgers and hot dogs…

When we were at Taft’s Ale House, Surf’s Up was coming on one of the TVs in the bar. The kids became enamored with the movie. So this evening, we watched it in our backyard…

It was a pretty good movie. The kids really seemed to like it.

It was another really wonderful day with JJVE. We had the most amazing Sunday. It was the best day again. ๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸŒ„๐Ÿก๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿฅฐโค๏ธ

An afternoon in OtR.

It was a beautiful Saturday morning…

There were a bunch of berries on our side yard sidewalk…

I think our sidewalk is going to be purple for a while…

Good morning from Northside…

We drove down into Over-the-Rhine early this afternoon. The June edition of The City Flea was taking place at Washington Park. We found a parking spot on Central parkway across the street from the new home of FC Cincinnnati, TQL Stadium in the historic West End of Cincinnati…

And there’s already a new bar just across the street from the stadium…

But more on that later. It really is a beautiful stadium…

We walked down to Washington Park to check out The City Flea…

And then we walked back to check out The Pitch Cincy…

Pretty neat place. I bet it is just wall-to-wall people on FC match days.

We drove back up into Northside to have a bourbon slushie at Second Place…

Good evening from Northside…

And then we just hung out on our back patio for the rest of the evening…

We had a pretty good Saturday. ๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸŒ„โšฝ๏ธ๐Ÿ›๏ธ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ’กโค๏ธ

Timehopping.

Six years ago was the infamous Power Stack fire game at GABP…

Milan was snug as a bug in a rug…

And do you remember Fork Heart Knife that used to be up on Main Street in OtR?

Their frittata and those spiced potatoes were just amazing…

Thanks for the memories, Timehop. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿฆ•โšพ๏ธโค๏ธ

The Best Sunday.

It was a beautiful Sunday morning…

Good morning from Northside…

We headed down to The Banks for another Sunday Reds baseball game…

We stopped at Jefferson Social for a bite to eat before the game…

Before we headed into the ball park, we stopped for a DORA drink…

The Reds were playing Cleveland. The Reds could sweep the three game series with a win today…

We had standing room only tickets. So we just kind of wandered around the ballpark…

We’d watch a bit of the game from here and a bit from there…

The Reds lost to the Indians 6-3. But it was just amazing to be back at the ball park again…

We rode the streetcar up into Over-the-Rhine again…

We stopped for a post game drink at Sundry & Vice…

It’s one of Genifer’s favorites…

We walked up to Holiday Spirits…

And from there, we called it a day and hopped in an Uber home…

And then we took the dogs around the block…

Good evening from Northside…

It was such a beautiful evening…

It was the best Sunday. ๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸŒ„๐ŸŒฎ๐Ÿบโšพ๏ธ๐Ÿนโค๏ธ

Covington Yard & Holiday Spirits.

This afternoon we headed out to cross the river over into Kentucky…

On our way, we drove by the new soccer stadium in the West End…

It looks pretty nice. Too bad the team that will be playing in the there is so terrible. We also drove by our old apartment building

And then it was over the river into Kentucky…

And then we were at Covington Yard

Genifer had a sangria slushie…

There are three shipping containers restaurants at Covington Yard: Mr. Bulgogi Korean BBQ, Django Western Taco and Yardbird…

We can get delicious Django tacos whenever we want and Mr. Bulgogi wasn’t open so we shared their delicious chicken sammich and fries from Yardbird…

That chicken sammich was really delicious.

Genifer had a bourbon slush and I had a Mango Cart…

Covington Yard is so fun. On our way back home, we stopped in Over-the-Spirits at Holiday Spirits

We talked about all the trips we’d like to take when the pandemic is over.

And we watched a Black Lives Matter march go by on Liberty Street…

There was the new stadium again…

And we’ve come full circle. We had a really fun afternoon. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ”๐ŸŸ๐Ÿปโค๏ธ

Taglio birthday pizza.

After we were down with work this evening, we drove down into Over-the-Rhine to get some carry-out birthday pizza and salads for Genifer’s birthday from Taglio OtR

Genifer had been wanting a buffalo chicken pizza for a while now. And we got a garden salad and a caesar salad…

The salads were huge…

And the buffalo chicken pizza was delicious…

Taglio’s pizza is delicious. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿ•๐ŸŽ‰โค๏ธ

Sam Adams Taproom.

We couldn’t decide wanted we wanted to do after work for Valentine’s Day. We had planned to go to Django Western Taco after work. But we weren’t really very hungry. We wanted to stop somewhere. So we just stopped at Sam Adams Taproom for a beer and a pretzel. We really like Sam Adams. They have great beers, giant pretzels and it’s right on our way home…

I had their Mountain Berry light ale aged on raspberries and blackberries…

Genifer had Samuel Adams Oaked Vanilla Porter. Both beers were really good…

Sam Adams used to just have their giant pretzels. Then they added chips & salsa. And now they’ve added a few more menu items…

Genifer still got their giant pretzel…

The giant pretzel is always so good and so giant. I tried one of their Cincinnati Coneys…

Cincinnati chili and queso mixed together on top of a hot dog? Yes, please!

Their coney was outstanding. It was really good. The beer cheese queso and chili combo was delicious. We had one of one Sam Adams I Like Porters. And then we headed for home. We really like Sam Adams Taproom. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿบ๐Ÿฅจ๐ŸŒญโค๏ธ

Good morning from Cincinnati.

Good morning from Central Parkway on our way into downtown Cincinnati. ๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸŒ„โค๏ธ

Dixie Terminal.

After I posted photos of various Christmas trees around downtown someone told me that Dixie Terminal had a Christmas tree as well. So I stopped to check it out this evening on my way to catch the bus…

And there it is. It’s a pretty one too…

Dixie Terminal is one of the true gems of downtown Cincinnati. ๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸŽ„๐Ÿฌโค๏ธ
