Eight years ago today.

Genifer and I went on our very first date. We went to a Reds game. We sat out by Jay Bruce, and saw Aroldis Chapman close out the Reds win…

Oh, the butterflies I had at that game. It took me six innings just to put my arm around her seat at the game. Afterward, we walked up to Mainstay Rock Bar to see Bad Veins…

It was one of the best evenings of my life because of the incredible woman I got to spend it with. 2,920 evenings later, and I still get butterflies every day. Thank you for spending the last eight years with me, Genifer. I love so so very much. 🥰⚾😍

Deskey’s Opening Day Celebration

Deskey hosted their annual Opening Day Celebration

It was a pretty fun afternoon. Thankfully, I didn’t have to do any Opening Day front window installations this year. Click to see all the photos I took at Deskey’s Opening Day Celebration. 😀⚾️🌭🏆❤️

HAPPY OPENING DAY!

HAPPY OPENING DAY! Baseball is finally back! 🤗⚾️😍

The final Reds game of the 2018 season.

Today was the final Reds baseball game of their 2018 season. We ducked in one of the side gates because the main gate at Crosley Terrace was just a sea of people. Everyone must have had the exact same thought as us, “Shoot, it’s the last Reds game of the season. We better go to the game today.” There were a bunch more people at this afternoon’s game than there were on Wednesday night. We headed straight upstairs to the terraces on the Fioptics District…

And then after a bit, we headed down to the terrace by the Bowtie Bar…

We got to see the final live mascot race…

Near the end of the game, Tucker Barnhart came in to play first base…

And the Reds lost 6-5 to the Pirates in the tenth inning…

After the ballgame, we went to hang out at the Fox Sports Ohio condominium…

It was another great season of Reds baseball. And where they might not have had the best season, they are always fun to watch. It’s going to be weird next week when we get home from work and try to find something to watch on tv. During baseball season, it’s a no-brainer. Just turn on the Reds game. I’m going to miss watching them. Hopefully next summer, we’ll be able to make it to more than just three games. Thank you Reds baseball for once again being the soundtrack of my summer. 😀⚾️❤️😍

How many days until pitchers and catchers report for spring training?

Back to Great American Ball Park.

It’s hard to believe that we’re in the final week of the 2018 Reds baseball season. It’s also really hard to believe that we only made it out to Great American Ball Park once this season. We’ve watched almost every Reds game on TV. But between my surgeries and all the FC Cincinnati soccer games, we only took in one Reds game all the way back at the beginning of the season. Tonight, our Redlegs were playing the Kansas City Royals and we actually managed to get down to the ballpark to take in our second Reds game of the season…

This was our first time passing through a metal detector since I’ve had both of my hips replaced. When we were at the Reds back in April, I had only one replaced hip. And it didn’t set off the metal detector. But both hips set the metal detector right off. Twice. I had to explain that I had both hips replaced and then get wanded. So there’s something to look forward to for the rest of my life. It was great to finally be back at GABP…

We headed up to the new Budweiser bowtie deck…

BARGE!

We headed over to our seat in the Fioptics District to chase the last rays of sun…

I wonder how many free pizzas LaRosa’s gave away this season when the Reds pitchers tallied 11 strikeouts in a game. I’m guessing not that many…

We walked over to the gap…

I love Reds game where you feel like you have GABP all to yourself…

And then we moved down to the lower deck down the third base line…

The Reds lost. But it was great to finally be back at GABP again. It’s still one of my very favorite places in the whole world. When we were walking back to the car, check out how gorgeous the moon was above Lytle Park…

😀⚾️🌕❤️

Three years ago…

Tonight was the MLB All-Star Game. With every All-Star Game, I’ll always think back to all the fun we had with the festivities that led up to the MLB All-Star Game three years ago when Cincinnati hosted the mid-summer classic…

Thanks for all the wonderful memories, Timehop.  😀⚾️⭐️🦕❤

Reds baseball game #1.

Our Reds are off to a historically bad start to the baseball season. Last time I looked, I think the Reds had the worst record in all of baseball at 7-22. And they were already 10 games out of first place in the NL Central. It’s pretty tough to be really enthusiastic about the Reds right now. But still, their games are on in our house every night even if they’re now relegated to a peripheral tablet. Regardless of how bad the Reds are, they’re still our Reds. And seven years ago today, we went to a Reds game on our very first date. Even though they’re not doing so hot this year when the Reds play at home on the anniversary of your first date, you go to the Reds game. That’s exactly what we did tonight. We went to our first Reds game of the year. And we were super hyped about it…

Just kidding. We’re always excited to go to Reds games. Among the new features at the ballpark is this Budweiser wagon where you can get $5 Bud and Bud Lights to drink on Crosley Terrace before you enter the ballpark…

We stopped to look at our Reds All-Star brick

Another new feature is out in right field, the Budweiser Balcony

They added a bunch of TV’s underneath the new balcony….

And a big Budweiser bar on top of the new balcony…

It’s pretty nice up there. It used to be just kind of a dead space out in right field. Now it feels much more finished. The most intriguing new food offering was also out in right field at Mr. Reds Smokehouse called the Smokehouse Bowl…

It was BBQ chicken, baked beans, mac&cheese and cole slaw all in a taco shell…

I’m not sure that I would get it again. But it was pretty darn tasty. It’s one of those things that you can say that you tried and then go back to old ballpark food staples. Give me a couple of dogs or a Peen Station Cheesesteak or a Big Boy and I’m a happy guy.

My Swarm check-in from the game…

It was the 180th Reds game I’ve checked into on my Swarm and the 23rd time seeing the Reds play the Milwaukee Brewers.

And I don’t care how bad the Reds are. Great American Ball Park will always be my happy place. Just look at that view…

Our seats were up in The Fioptics District. We love it up there. With the Fioptics District Ticket for just $15, you can enjoy ballpark seats or the terraces where you can stand and watch the game, access to the exclusive rooftop and your first drink!

It was pretty awesome. We felt like we had GABP all to ourselves…

The announced attendance was 9,536…

But we’re guessing the actual number was less than half of that…

We headed for home in the ninth inning. The Reds were down by one when we left. When we got to the car, the game was final and the Reds lost 6-5.

Win or lose, it doesn’t make a difference to me. I just love being at the ballpark with the love of my life. 😀⚾️7⃣❤️

Northside Saturday.

We went back to Taft’s Brewporium for lunch today…

I really like their New Haven-style “apizza…”

We watched some of the baseball and then we watched Michigan lose to Sparty.

It was a really fun day up until the losing part. 😀🍺🍕〽️🏈😕❤️

Reds baseball game #7.

Where has the summer gone? As the baseball starts to wind down and thoughts begin to turn to the postseason almost mercifully, today was the final home game of the Reds baseball season. It would be our seventh Reds game of this baseball season, and the Reds were ending with a homestand against my favorite  American League team, Boston Red Sox…

These Ballpark Express self-serve, automated pick-up stations are the first of their kind at any major league stadium. They are supposed to allow fans to skip all the really long concession lines to be able to spend more time enjoying the game by ordering and paying for food and beverages using the official MLB.com Ballpark app…

I don’t know… Pretty really weird, right? BARGE!

We got to see Xander Bogaerts…

And Dustin Pedoria…

And Madeira Ohio native, Andrew Benintendi…

And Mookie Betts…

According to my Swarm, I’ve been to 257 Reds games…

Billy Hamilton had the play of the game, hands down. Billy got caught leaning the wrong way off of first and turned a bad throw during the ensuing rundown into a run for the Reds as he raced all the way home from first. It left the Red Sox scratching their collective heads as to what just happened…

The Reds lead most of the game but ended up losing to the Sox 5-4, and getting swept in the weekend series. The last time the Reds won was at the game we were at last Sunday against the Pirates

It was another great season of Reds baseball. 😀⚾️❤️
